I’m glad I like toast :-)

DSC_0008 (1)
Older photos today since I haven’t been out on walks with the dogs.

Nothing has happened here, I’m still at home since my stomach is quite wobbly and I still haven’t tried cooked food yet. I’m so glad I like toast and rose-hip soup 🙂 🙂 🙂

The weather has been rather mixed. Either strong winds and rain or almost no wind and mostly sunny. I have been able to have the kitchen door open but not as much as I have wanted too because of Alma, she tends to jump over the fence and research what has happened in the neighborhood all by her self.

I will go the my appointment to the optician tomorrow and I have checked how much lenses cost and to be honest it will be much the same as what my glasses cost. I thought it would be much more expensive to be honest. I’ve learned that the progressive lenses work in another way than glasses, they will be made so that they are as sharpest for reading in the middle of the lens because usually the light is strong while reading and the pupil therefore are small and that will work well when I drive to work now when winter comes because it’ll be pretty dark soon and the pupil therefore is bigger.

But how will that work when I drive in summer and the sun already is up? Well I guess it’ll work otherwise how would people all around the world who use lenses like this ever be able to drive at all 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’ve also been taking looks on another camera because I really use my cameras a lot so they’re actually getting closer to when they finally will give up. I did find a really nice Nikon Z5 camera and it wasn’t expensive at all to be honest but it didn’t come with a lens and one need other lenses than the ones I have. There are adapters but those cost almost as much as a lens and I really don’t want to spend a lot of money when we really don’t know how expensive things will be this winter. So I’ll just hope for the best and that my cameras will keep on working until time changes.

Have a great day!!

We will knot know who won until Wednesday/ Thursday.

I took a few photos from the window upstairs this morning. I was lucky because the morning mist vanished within minutes.

So I went early to vote yesterday morning, I was there as soon as they opened up and I still had to stand in line. Not more than five minutes but it did feel odd. I was lucky, later in the day some people had to stand in line for hours.

I don’t know how things work in other countries when it comes to the ballots but here each party has their own ballot. If one is a Swedish citizen we can vote for three different things, the parliament, the region (which takes care of the health care system) and the county. So one need one ballot for each one. Up until last year they had all the ballots on a place where everyone actually could see what one chose, not a great thing to be honest but most of us just took a bunch of ballots from different parties when we went to the screen where we put the ballots in special envelopes.

e (1)
It was however quite foggy up on the mountain yesterday morning when I went to vote.
e (2)
.
e (3)
.

e (4)

Now they decided that the ballots would be in a place where no one could see what one picked, no problems with that really but I and most other people then believed that there would be several places where they had the ballots. How wrong we were and since lots of people hadn’t decided what party/ parties they would vote for until they reached that place it took a lot! of time for people to vote. I don’t know who the idiot is who didn’t think of that, especially since they had been warned that this most likely would happen but who ever it was should never be allowed to be in charge of anything ever again. The lines were so long in some places that people just gave up and walked home without voting.

e (5)

Anyway, the results? Well we have eight parties in the parliament and they are divided in to two groups. One is center left parties and the other one is right and fascist. It is at the moment so close that we won’t know for sure until Wednesday evening/ Thursday morning until we actually know which one of them won. Unfortunately it leans towards the right-fascist side. They will have huge problems making it work though because the least right wing party refuses to have anything to do with the government if the fascist party is in it. Then again the fascists won’t be happy if the least right wing party is a part of the government either, especially since they are the biggest party in that group (just above 20%).

e (9)
I stopped by the Abbey ruins on my way back home but unfortunately most of the fog had drifted away by then.

e (12)

To be honest the other group, if things would change when all votes are counted, will not have an easier time to create a government either, they have more or less the same problems in their group 🙂 🙂 🙂 It is a bit scary that people who behaves like toddlers in in the defiance age will actually lead this country. I have some kind of stomach flu today so I’m at home and have spent the day in front of the tv watching the two big channels discussing what will happen now and that’s just stupid since we actually don’t know who won! At the moment the right leads with 46000 votes and I think they still have several hundred thousand votes to count. Anything can happen.

Have a great day!

So we didn’t get any rain at all really :-)

Some of the photos comes from my car camera so some are a bit old.

We didn’t get especially much rain this weekend, almost nothing actually. It went east of us and those places that were hit had more rain on one day than they usually have the entire month of August.

.

.

.

So I can’t say I’m sorry it missed us 🙂 High humidity, fairly warm and a dark grey sky made the day perfect for doing nothing outside though. I did do a lot indoors though. The laundry as usual on Sundays, dinner for a week at work (not using the slow cooker this time). The only thing I had bought for all those dinners were the pork tenderloins. All vegetables came from either my garden or my neighbors 🙂 I emptied the second plastic bucket where I only had put down those broken off sprouts and they had given enough potatoes for an entire week 🙂

.

.

.

After that I also made dinner for yesterday, I made pancakes so that my dogs also could have some. I always make so they can have one each 🙂 Half the day had passed after that so for the rest of the day I just relaxed 🙂

.

Piglets rarely stay where they are supposed to stay 🙂 🙂 🙂

Today has been rather nice, well outside the factory that is. A big gate was open towards the sunshine outside and it was quite warm when I finally could get to my car and drive home again. The weather will stay much the same until the weekend they’re guessing now but then again they did think we would get all that rain that we didn’t get so who knows what weather we’ll have 🙂 🙂 🙂 A fun thing happened when I drove homewards. I turned on the radio to a just talking station. Suddenly a pop song  was played and they never play pop songs on that channel so I actually looked on the radio in surprise. So I changed channel but no matter what station i tried to reach I still had that same pop song playing 🙂 🙂 🙂 I tuned the radio off and on again but couldn’t get anything else until after that pop song was over, then I could go back to the channel I wanted again 🙂 🙂 🙂

On my way to work today.

It is still rather warm here, 25C (77F) and I can’t remember when we had this high temperatures this late in August the last time. It’s actually quite nice since we also have had a nice breeze blowing. It will continue like this until at least the weekend if they’re guessing right.

It is amazing how fast one can forget ones last work when one wants to 🙂 I had to go to my old work place for a while today and I managed to shut down the entire painting program and instead get out on the internet and I just couldn’t get back again 🙂 🙂 🙂 (to be honest, I didn’t even know we could reach the internet from the painting box). We had to shut down the entire box and restart it again 🙂 🙂 🙂 I even offered to do the cleaning program when we were going to use another color but they thought it best to let me do other things instead 🙂 🙂 🙂

I went to the optician yesterday to ask if they could do progressive contact lenses. I had heard that they can do that now days and why not try it if they can. Turns out they can so I now have an appointment in September. I’ve had lenses before but had to stop when I started to work with powder paint. The pain when something as tiny as a dustgrain comes between the eye and the lens is horrible so it wasn’t possible to wear contacts when I worked there. So they’ll do a check on my eyes and after that I hopefully can have contacts again.

I had ordered a hand chain saw so that I can trim some branches of my apple trees and also lots of branches from my lilacs. I’ve been waiting for it to arrive for over 14 days but today it arrived. Doesn’t any company have anything in stock now days? Several things I’ve ordered lately have taken around 14 days to arrive and I have been able to follow the order all the time. It also seems that anything one buys today comes from Yunnan in China, or Shanghai :-)Well the sofas did come from a place in sweden and the coffee maker from Germany but for some reason I think they most actually were made in Yunnan in China anyway 🙂

I’m a bit too tired today. I went up at 3:30 this morning because I started to work an hour and a half earlier than usual. I needed to do some things with the huge washing machine that must be done before the production starts.

The cold is also lingering on, I don’t have any fever but I have no energy and I sweat like a pig as soon as I start working. By the way do pigs sweat? Have no idea really 🙂 🙂 🙂 I think Nova might be allergic to something because her eyes are swollen. She doesn’t seem to care about it and has a healthy appetite but I will keep an eye on her. She might have put her head in to stinging nettles though but I’ll know more if it’s better tomorrow.

We did get rain last night, I woke up at some time hearing a shower passing by. We didn’t get especially much though, just enough so I won’t have to water the patches today. I still have some sowing to do so I’ll do that tomorrow morning I think.

We weren’t supposed to have any sunshine this morning but the clouds would go away some time before noon. So I wasn’t the least surprised that the sun shone through big patches of cloud free sky already in the early morning 🙂 🙂 We had breakfast before we went out on our walk so the temperature was above 10C (50F) which means the flies are flying around. We have a really strong wind blowing though so I hoped it would keep the flies away. No it didn’t. I didn’t want to walk down to the creek because horse flies reign there at the moment so we went in to the forest instead.

We swapped horse flies to forest flies and mosquitoes instead. The forest flies are still a bit shy so they just circles around the head and don’t aim for ears and nostrils so the walk was quite pleasant. We walked to an opening in the forest where they cut down the trees a few years ago. We stopped just where it opens up and the dogs were quite interested in something out there. If it hadn’t been for my tele photo lens starting to argue about where to focus I would now have been able to show You photos of adorable striped piglets.

She isn’t that big thankfully, perhaps 50 kg (around 104 pounds ).

The lens calmed down so that I at least could take photos of one of the sows.  She had her eyes on us all the time and I think she didn’t care about us especially much because both Albin and Alma were quiet???!!! So we stood there for a minute or so but since I know wild hogs are fast and the boar must be around somewhere we slowly turned around and went back homewards. I have by the way bought another lens. I did it as soon as we came home. I went out to check our EBay, called Tradera and found a used Tamron telephoto lens. It has reasonable good reviews so I’m hoping for the best.

My neighbor looked out the window when we were on our way out to the forest and I asked how she (well they because they are a family after all) was doing. Turns out that she got sick on Tuesday, her daughter just after and her fiance yesterday. All the symptoms are the same except for her, she has lost her sense of smell and taste. Could be corona but it can just as well be a normal influensa. I do feel better today even though I do cough a lot from time to time. I have very little energy so I’ll skip the lawn mowing until that returns.

I may not have poppies around my garage but I do have buttercups, dog biscuits and stinging nettles 🙂 🙂 🙂

We’ve just had our dinner, well I had my dinner and the dogs had lots of my french fries :-). They’ll get their food as soon as I’m done here. I think I should have some dessert, ice cream 🙂 The banana split ice cream I bought is ok, too much chocolate sauce on it for my taste. It’s strange, I really like chocolate but have problems with chocolate sauce, it’s just sticky and way too sweet 🙂

Took this when I woke up, view from where I have my computer.

We’e had a rather nice day again, mostly sunny till afternoon arrived but now a sheet of grey clouds cover the sky. It’s just above 20C (68F) with a kind lukewarm wind blowing. I’ve had the kitchen door open since early morning so the dogs have been able to go out and in as they’ve pleased.

We had our first walk this week, I finally felt enough well to do that. The sun was shining and the temperature well below 10C (50F), so none of the flies annoyed or bit us. Yes the fly season has started. Still mostly biting flies and they are annoying enough but still not as many as the overly friendly forest flies who seems to have only one wish in life, to take a look inside our ears and nostrils 🙂 🙂 🙂

I bought a garden hose yesterday and today I used it to water my now showing vegetable plants and potato plants. I also now have the cleanest kitchen floors in the world, why You might ask? Well because the hose I bought turned out to be a dripping hose. It has loads of tiny holes in it so that while I water where I want to the hose also water gently where I place it, like in my kitchen 🙂 🙂 🙂

b (11)
We only walked down to the creek and turned back again. The grass is filled with dew and most likely with ticks as well.
b (13)
.
b (14)

b (15)

The thought behind it is that if one place it strategically in the vegetable patch (or inside a green house) one just plug the end of it and the water will then gently drip out of the hose, a perfect way to not waste water. So now I really need to buy a new hose long enough so I just put this “leaking” hose in the two patches and let it slowly water the ground. To be honest not what I had planned but kind of right anyway. This time I think I’ll order the hose online. To be honest I also totally miscalculated how long the hose needed to be and it should have been at least twice as long as I thought 🙂 🙂 🙂

I also bought a toy for the dogs, well at least Alma and Albin. Nova doesn’t play that much any longer. It’s a big Cotton? rope. They had fun with it for around five minutes and then they left it 🙂 🙂 🙂 It is still fun if I throw it up in the air and one of them catch it. Then they play with it for five more minutes 🙂 🙂 🙂 Those dogs don’t seem to be the toy kind of dogs, they’re more in to chewing bones and preferable hard ones that will take a year or so to chew through.

Rain is on the way and for once I really hope we’ll get lots of it. The creeks is getting narrower and narrower and the swamp behind my garage is no more. Ok we’ll get fewer mosquitoes if it is dry but we’ve gotten unusually little rain this spring and early summer so the vegetation really needs it. Back in the days June, July and August were the most rainy months we had. Still it’s much better than down south in Europe, It isn’t that nice in big parts of the US either to be honest. It’s time for something to eat and perhaps a cup of tea.

The snow started to fall yesterday and I think it stopped some time before I went up this morning, that would be around 4:40 am. All roads were ice free but the smaller ones were covered in a thick layer of snow. They have been warning us for more snow today and strong winds but it looks as if that nasty weather has passed further north of here. The winds are sort of reasonable strong and the rain is pouring down. Everything is wet and muddy now and every time the dogs have been outside, just to quickly do what is necessary, I need to scrub the floors again. They are still guessing that we’ll get more snow later tonight and that the temperature will drop for a short while so that we’ll have a snow white world again at least for a short while.

I went to the physiotherapist today and she checked how well or not my arms worked. We talked about my rheumatism but she didn’t think it would make any difference on this and we talked about Alma as well 🙂 🙂 Well I had to apologize to Alma when I came home today because she’s not guilty for this, she may have hastened the symptoms but she isn’t responsible for this. I have what she called an inpintchement ( I hope I heard that right, she’s Danish but spoke Swedish really well) in both my shoulders but the right one is much worse than the left.

It means that my nerves are getting squeesed and therefore gives me pain. I got some exercises I should do and was told to stay at home for at least five working days. I’ll meet her in two weeks and if these exercises doesn’t help she will hand me over to a doctor. If I get better I’ll get more exercises to do and we’ll continue like that until I’m back to much better. This is a rather common thing to get when working with the hands above the head for way too many times and for too long periods without any chance to rest the arm and shoulder. Painters are especially common amongst those who get it.
