One more day before winter.

The beekeepers bees are still here, they’ll be easier to move now when it will become colder.

Really nice morning here today but the hunters were out in the forest and I didn’t want to walk in the village so it took some time before we could have our morning walk. The hunters aren’t however very patient people so they left pretty soon anyway 🙂

They’re guessing that we’ll have pretty much the same weather tomorrow but after that it’ll change to below 0C (32F) temperatures both day and night plus we’ll get up to 25 cm (10 inches of snow starting Tuesday evening till Thursday evening. So after having our morning walk tomorrow I’ll go to the super market and buy everything I’ll need for the rest of the week. I’m not happy to be unemployed but it sure feels good to not have to be out driving in that kind of weather.

I’ve now planted the last plants in the garden, one rose and four Sea buckthorn. Have You ever eaten the berries from the Sea buckthorn? They are delicious, a mix of passion fruit, pine apple and oranges (slightly sour) according to myself 🙂 There’s only one problem and that’s to pick them. Firstly they are protected by thorns from hell and they tend to burst when one tries to remove them 🙂 So one usually cuts off the branches they they are attached to and slowly rip them off starting from the bottom of the branch, because they tend to point towards the tip of the branch, over a bucket so both the berries and the juice drops down in to the bucket. they are absolutely best as fresh but works almost as well as jelly or ade. These bushes are so small that it’ll take a couple of years before they give berries I think.

So two years ago I started to have a Christmas tree again. I stopped to have one when one of my old dogs thought that no matter where a tree stands it is supposed to be peed on, referable every day and he was a big dog, weighed 52 kg (around 105 pound). So when he no longer was with me and both cats were gone as well I bought me a plastic tree that looked surprisingly much like a living tree. It has been rather nice to put it up every time to be honest. Now Sara the cat is here and she climbs everywhere and likes to chew on cables I’m afraid so no more christmas tree for me 🙂 🙂 I do have the battery driven light chain though and if I remember it right it would work for a tree outside, the thing is that I then would have to remember to turn it on and off every day so I think I’ll skip that.

Finally only two leafs hanging on the Pawpaw tree.
I want to place the Quince tree seedlings (I have four more than these) in the cool cellar but they refuse to drop their leafs and it is the same with the Peach tree. I might have to remove most of the leafs by hand or hope they start their winter rest anyway, I don’t have any space beneath the plant light any longer.
This is most likely the most sad looking Thuja there is 🙂 The surrounding trees grew so much faster that it almost get no light at all 🙂
This is what an Iceberg salad looks like when it is about to flower. Can still be eaten but needs to stand in water a couple of days because it is really bitter now 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and at the same time give the animals their dinners. Nothing worth watching on tv tonight so at the moment I have no idea what to do but I’ll most likely snooze in  front of the tv while wondering what to do 🙂

Have a great day!

A horrible smell of burnt metal and god knows what :-)

The photos comes from today and yesterday.

We had a sort of nice weather yesterday, not much sunshine but quiet windy with warm winds, today another storm, well that is perhaps a bit much to call it but the gusts were really strong. Still rather warm though. I didn’t want to walk in the forest because the risk of falling trees and I didn’t want to walk in the village because of the gusts so we walked down to the creek. Almost in the forest but the trees along both the road and creek are rather low compared to the forest.

It’s always slightly impossible to walk with Alma the first two hundred meters (much the same in yards) , she’s everywhere and nowhere at the same time quite often whining and screaming like obcessed but after that she behaved really well, I guess all the treats in my pocket helped me with that 🙂 🙂 🙂 To be honest she really doesn’t do anything to get the treats, she’s happy to get them if she for some reason do something right for once 🙂 🙂 She will remember nothing of that by the day after 🙂 🙂 🙂

I sat down to watch tv when we came home and suddenly a smell filled the air, sort of metallic burning and really wet wood combination, I can’t describe it any better and it was pretty awful. So I started to sniff around all electrical things that was on and I just couldn’t find from where it came. So for a while I thought it might be the tv itself slowly melting inside. I pulled out the cord and opened a door to let the air out. I was worried that perhaps the cords inside the walls, I hate having cords in the walls since this is an old tree cottage and god knows what I would be able to do if they started to burn in there.

Anyway, after the door had been open for a while the air smelled a bit better so I sat down in my reclines and watched the air to see if there was any smoke in it. That’s when I heard a thermostat klicking behind me.  There is an old radiator on the wall beneath the window that I haven’t used in well over twenty years because it never managed to be especially warm and I guess that the dogs when squeezing between the wall and my recliner have managed to press on the On/ Off button while passing through. So when that started to warm up well over twenty years of dust getting in to that radiator slowly started to burn off 🙂 🙂 🙂

You might wonder why I haven’t replaced that radiator years ago? Well in it is connected straight to the electric wiring and has no contact to pull out, also new radiators like that has a quick connect so one just can disconnect it and replace the old radiator. Here the cord goes straight in t the wall. Plus I’ve tried to remove it from the wall but I just can’t get it even to wiggle, it is stuck 🙂 🙂 🙂 So since I don’t want the dogs to accidentally start it again, I’m not worried it will start to burn but that smell was awful 🙂 The On/Off button isn’t easy to press, so I’ve now put up a cover over that button 🙂 🙂 🙂 One day I’ll get an electrician come over here and remove all those now turned off old radiators. They were really good radiators for their time but the ones I have now, with an  electric plug are so much better.

I think it is time for that last cup of tea and then most likely dooze off in front of the tv 🙂

Have a great day!

Today we were lucky with the weather.

We had thick fog again this morning but I could see the sun rise behind it so we hurried out before the fog would evaporate. I would have loved to go out to the bog and the island but it was noticeable that the sun would remove the fog just as I would reach it. So we walked down to the creek instead.

When one read about our beings it often says that this is the season they’re the most active because it’s so dark all the time. Then one read about them in all other season and those are also when they are most active, usually because we have all our holidays from christmas till midsummer 🙂 🙂 🙂 Then again we have so much daylight here during summer that they wouldn’t be able to do much at all if they were sensitive to daylight 🙂 🙂 I think that this morning would have been great to see any beings in the fog out there 🙂

In the northern parts of Sweden, by the high mountains and deep forests they have a being called Vittra, a close relative to our vätte (vaettir or wight in English) Both live underground and can look much like a human but being considerable smaller. While the vätte normally can live rather close to humans the Vittra prefers to stay away from us, plus they have their own livestock, like cows or goats. They don’t dislike us but they tend to stay away from us which I guess means they don’t like us 🙂 🙂 Normally they also almost always wear beautiful folk costumes. Back in the days humans let the livestock walk up on the mountains during summer and that’s when the young girls that lived with the animals up there often could meet the Vittra or their livestock. If the girls were smart and quick in thought they would throw an iron knife over the animal they had met and when they had done that they could keep the animal.

It wouldn’t take long before the original owner would visit them though to set the rules. Not milk the animal too much and any offspring from it would go to the Vittra. Their animals looked just like ours but were much smaller and gave lots more milk. It is said that their cows were purely white and wore a silver bell with a wonderful sound. Usually there were never any problems with the Vittra but there were a few things to look out for. They could steal our livestock or our children but they usually returned them back after three days 🙂 Another thing is that they behaves much like our badgers when it comes to where they walk. If one would be unlucky enough to build a home on one of those paths one had problems. One wouldn’t be able to sleep at all during nights ever. So the only solution to that problem was to move the house or sleep with all doors open so that the Vittra could pass at nights 🙂 🙂 Vittror never came alone though, the entire family would have to pass and also their livestock 🙂 🙂 (one Vittra several Vittror)

This photo is a bit blurry but I think it came out pretty good anyway.

There were also Vittror that reigned over lakes and if one tossed in a silver coin (or I guess anything silver) before going fishing in those lakes one would catch lots of fish, unless it was one of their pikes, no matter what one tried they were impossible to get out of the water 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day. The dogs and I had our dinner not long ago so I’ll just have that cup of tea.

Have a great day!

Malkolm and Alma do like Sara the cat but she’s never calm so they prefer to avoid her when they want to sleep (if they can 🙂 🙂 🙂 ). Old Nova made Sara calm in some way I don’t know so I think she’s missed by the kitten. Sometimes however they make an exception and let her stay close 🙂

I missed a foggy morning walk.

The only foggy photo I took today 🙂

We had thick fog this morning, perfect for a morning walk but I was going to visit my friend in the garden center and it takes some time to get there so I had to skip the morning walk. We had our “morning” walk when I came home just after noon instead.

I do miss the days when I had my own garden center but it was a lot of work for very little money. Unless it’s a holiday of some kind or beginning of spring very little happens, very fun though but it is nice to have dinner every now and again 🙂 🙂 🙂 Quite often if not always I get some plants/flowers with me home, it is when the plants are too old to sell 🙂 So today I came home with two Butterfly orchids that had seen better days and a huge Croton. Crotons really hate dry air so they usually don’t last for long in modern homes, it usually don’t take long time before the first pests arrive, like spider mites and even if one can be successful in removing them the first time they don’t take long to come back.

Too dry air in a 100 year old cottage is rarely a problem as long as the plant doesn’t stand too close to a radiator but it is so big that I have no idea where to place it 🙂 🙂 🙂 Don’t need much sunlight though so perhaps I can find a spot in the bathroom? Not that I have much space there either but it will not be a very dry air in there anyway 🙂 🙂 Or perhaps I’ll place that orchid I was wondering about where to place just in case Sara the cat would get the idea to chew on it in the bathroom and the Croton by the entrance door where daylight can reach it? I think that might be a good idea.

This is a really muddy place that we have to pass to get to the island. Put your foot in the wrong place and You will sink down to Your knee in mud 🙂 🙂

Anyway, we walked out to the bog and the island I like there and today we followed it, on the less beautiful side, for as long as we could. Alma had behaved reasonable good until we came out to the island but was extra stressed when we started to walk. We made quite a lot of noise by walking on all the fallen and now dry branches and that when I hear something moving. We stopped and I saw in the corner of my eye something moving. It was wild hogs. At least one rather big boar and three smaller ones. Alma couldn’t see them thankfully so she stood quiet and tried to see what it was moving. The hogs walked in to the thicker forest on the island so we continues to walk our own way.

It is easy to walk here because of the absolute flat surface, the other side of the island is just the opposite and also very swampy 🙂
This tree looks like something that will wake up at night and start wandering around looking for prey 🙂

Behind those birches there’s a big but swampy meadow, I only walk there during droughts 🙂

Alma doesn’t like wild hogs so she was pretty happy when we arrived back home again but I have to say that if this had happened a year ago it would have been more troublesome to go back home at all 🙂 🙂 🙂 Well I think it is time for that last cup of tea for the day but nothing to eat, I made rice porridge again today and it is filling well and there’s no risk of getting hungry again today 🙂 By the way I also picked up the Quality Street tin box this morning, now I’ll place it in the pantry and never look at it before Christmas eve morning 🙂

It looks like there still is mist at the far back of the photo, odd because the fog/ mist had already vanished elsewhere.
and where’s the bridge over the creek?

Have a great day!

Our squirrels are really shy so this was a surprise to see today 🙂
Alma did not want to share her chew hide 🙂

We were supposed to have fog this morning but it never happened, now on the other hand I can see that it is rolling in over the village. Well I can always hope for tomorrow. So mostly grey and dull but thin enough clouds to make it brighter than yesterday.

I had to go to the super market this morning because I forgot to but cat litter last time I was there. I did need some cheese as well but nothing more. Well I came home with more things but that’s what can be expected of me 🙂 🙂 Lots of christmas stuff up now and if it hadn’t been that Sara the cat screamed her way in to my home, she has enormous lungs for being so small and that’s good for her since I never would have found here otherwise 🙂 🙂 I would perhaps have bought some christmas ornaments for my plastic christmas tree.

No idea to do that now because she’s a climber and tends to toss down anything she can on the floor 🙂 She has so far not started to chew on the potted plants but I think I need to move one of the orchids because I think they are poisonous in all their parts. I have to admit that it was nice to have a christmas tree again but since it is plastic it will last until I can bring it out again, well that depends on how old the little girl will become and me too to be honest, after all that tumor on my kidney is a question mark at the moment.

The dogs and I walked down to the creek again and Alma behaved so good until she heard something moving in the forest, after that she was a bit much but still so much better behaved than she was just a year ago. Losing Nova (and Albin) must have been rather hard for her. Malkolm had his nose towards the ground the entire time so he didn’t notice anything at all 🙂 🙂 🙂

I think it is time for that last cup of tea for the day. I haven’t had anything to eat since just after we came home from our walk so a sandwich or two would be fine as well 🙂

Have a great day!

The weather sites said we actually would get sunshine from around 10 am and for the rest of the day and later tonight fog would roll in. We did get some sunshine but it arrived rather late and as soon as the sun had set the fog rolled in. It is so thick that I can’t see the lights on my neighbors barn on the other side of the cow pasture. I do hope they’re right and that it stays until tomorrow 🙂

We walked down to the creek, followed it for a while and then went up in the old forest, turning to the creek and followed it down stream again and then went home through the forest on the gravel road. I’ve tried to show You where we have walked but I just can’t save the picture, I’ll try until tomorrows blog. We didn’t see any animals except for a couple of ravens but a couple of horses had walked in the old forest yesterday so Alma was pretty excited, she really don’t like them for some reason I don’t know. Malkolm was really happy though because he loves to follow tracks 🙂

I got a message yesterday that made me happy 🙂 Normally when one quit ones job by one self one get a period of 45 I think, days when one doesn’t get paid. It’s another thing when the employer fires us, then we’ll get paid from the first day from the unemployment fund. However if the employer does what they did to me, force me to quit because I can’t work those hours they demanded one can get approved to get paid from the first day anyway and my dogs keeping my neighbors up all night by barking at anything moving was a good enough reason to quit and therefore get paid from my first day of unemployment 🙂

The first good news in a long time 🙂 I guess it is time to have that last cup of tea for the day but I’m not hungry so perhaps a digestive or two will be enough to go with it 🙂

Have a great day!

Grey and dull.

The weather has been grey and dull and we’ve had misty rain most of the time. Also so dark that I’ve had to have lights on all day. We’ve been out in the forest but to be honest this day has sucked the energy out of us all so not even Alma was especially overjoyed to have any walks 🙂 🙂 🙂

I must admit that I will be happy when the elections in the US are over 🙂 🙂 Our different tv companies has shown bigger interest in this election that they’ve done to our own 🙂 🙂 Today for instance they showed when the Polling stations opened up all over the country, discussed everything and anything about the presidential candidates, pros and cons for us and our economy and to be honest a little too much enthusiastic over all. They’ve checked how we Swedes would vote if we were allowed and 80% would vote for Kamala (I think Obama would have gotten over 92% but that was before our fascists grew big), only the fascists would vote for the orange nazi. I’ll also be very happy when all the spam mail begging for money will end coming to my e-mail account 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’m up to 60 e-mails every day now.

We’ve been in the garden quite a lot today because it has been rather warm. There’s still two walnuts hanging in the tree and it seems they refuse to fall down, I have peeled all the walnuts that has fallen down. The misty rain forced us to go inside rather often, misty rain eats its way through any form of clothes so it really isn’t nice after a while. So instead I’ve baked two loafs of bread, not a total success but way better than the last time. The odd thing is that one actually can cut a couple of slices just after it has come out from the oven but try it a few seconds later and the bread just collapses 🙂 🙂 🙂

So since it was so dark and gloomy today and like always this time of year I felt a little Christmas spirit I made some rice porridge 🙂 And of course I used the Christmas porridge plate 🙂

It is basically round rice (even though any rice can be used, it just gets a slightly different texture). First boiled in some water for 15 minutes and after that let it simmer in milk in around 40 to 60 minutes.

I do have a piece of cinnamon in it while it boils but when it is done I sprinkle more over it all and today I also added some strawberry jam 🙂

No wolves yesterday either but a couple of Roe deer instead. Alma’s tail indicated that they might not be around any longer but there are plenty of other animals around so I hope our fox pass by soon. Back in the days when we had lots of moose here they quite often passed by even during day time, so there’s a minimal chance the camera might be able to get one of those too. I doubt that and Red deer or Fallow deer will come close enough though, they are still too shy to come close to our cottages.

It is time for that last cup of tea and most likely a sandwich or two. Both the dogs and the kitten will have a tiny piece each. I’m not surprised that the dogs like it but Sara the cat will go insane if she doesn’t get some too 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!

Stormy weather.

No photos from today but I have taken a few photos these last days. One day I do hope that I can be able to get a photo of the wolf that follows us when we’re out walking. Here’s another wolf though 🙂 🙂 🙂

First of all I want to thank You all for all the kinds words!

I of course still see here in the corner of the eye and still wonder why she take so long to get down to the kitchen in the morning 🙂 She was a wonderful dog and I only had to scold her once in all those years she lived here, back in the days she hated Hares and one day she saw one just beside us while we were out walking so she started to chase it but the problem was that she was leashed and the leash almost broke a couple of fingers and I couldn’t use my hand for a while 🙂 🙂 🙂 After that she never chased hares again and could walk leash free for the rest of her life 🙂

Turns out that the beavers aren’t back, There’s a log stuck in the tube beneath the gravel road 🙂 The water level is so high that I don’t feel it’s safe to walk on the small bridges. It isn’t deep but the water is cold and muddy 🙂

Looking out the window today one can see a rather pleasant day with lots of sunshine but one can also hear the winds roar through the forest. The steady winds are strong but still not so bad, the gusts however hit the storm force strength so we’ve mostly stayed in the garden today, it is just not safe to walk in the forest plus the fact that there is something out there that Alma doesn’t like. That something must have been outside the garden because even Malkolm got stressed and started to bark like crazy. He did that early this morning as well but since it was dark I couldn’t see anything, my guess a wolf but it could also have been wild hogs.

In one of those times we have been in the garden today Alma came back to me limping. Nothing is broken and she doesn’t show any signs of pain when I squeeze her legs or toes, I guess that she has stretched some muscle or tendon  but nothing worse, when those two play they do play tough. Sara the cat is just wild. It is amazing that she still walks around because if there’s a chance to get squeezed in between something she will be 🙂 She’s so quiet when she moves around that suddenly she’s attacking my feet just as I am moving forward and then she flies away for quite some distance because her claws didn’t get a grip on my foot 🙂 🙂 She climbs up the recliner and then jumps out in to nothing because she isn’t a good enough jumper to reach her goal 🙂 🙂 She too plays very tough with Malkolm and is a sore looser 🙂 🙂

So life goes on and I got an e-mail that I’m still in the running for a couple of jobs I’ve applied for. I am 60 though so that is always a disadvantage if there are younger people hoping for that job as well but I still see this as a success 🙂 Now when I’m not working I need to start spending less money even though there still is a long time before I won’t have any money left. It is better to start now than later when I really need to and I think I’m doing pretty well. I have spoiled myself a little though, I bought myself an orchid, Coelogyne cristata  ( klick on the red text and a new page should pop up on Google search)Here in the nordic countries we call it Snow queen orchid in our separate languages because this one flowers in the Himalayans when the snow is melting after winter.

It is a bit tricky and won’t flower in the winter temperature is  warmer than 10C (50F). Nothing to see now though because without its flowers it just looks sad 🙂 🙂 I do have that other orchid in bloom right now though, the one where I must have done something right but not knowing what to be honest 🙂 🙂 A mouse has visited the plants I have in the cool cellar during winter and apparently small Pawpaw seedlings taste delicious. So the only hope I have now is that their root systems were developed so much that they’ll send out shoots from them. The mouse also tried a Giant sequoia seedling and apparently those aren’t as delicious so lets hope they won’t try to eat those again.  Sara the cat is down there every now and again so lets hope the smell from her is enough to keep that mouse away from now on 🙂

It is time for a pot of tea and a chocolate covered Hob nob, to be honest I never eat just one but it did look good while reading its 🙂

Have a great day!

I woke up early today and since it was dark outside I couldn’t see how foggy it was, it was still quite foggy when the light finally returned. I had planned on walking in the village today but then I heard the dogs barking everywhere so I changed my mind, I really didn’t want Alma to stress up and start screaming, I just didn’t have that energy today 🙂 🙂

The hunters were out in the forest though so we didn’t have our morning walk until after noon. One hunter was still there though because his Beagle hadn’t returned. I had heard a dog bark twice down by the creek so he thought it must be his dog and drove down there. The problem was he still couldn’t find him. The dog still hadn’t returned when we came back again so I prepared myself to go out with Malkolm who loves to follow tracks and loves all dogs as well just in case they hadn’t found the dog before it started to get dark again. Luckily they did find him just before darkness would arrive.

I don’t like it when they have dogs running around by themselves now when we have wolves in the area even though I haven’t seen any signs of them being here in a long time but one never knows. Everything went well though 🙂 So instead of going out to try and find a dog I baked two loafs of bread, it would perhaps been better to let them stay in the oven for five minutes longer but the taste is really nice 🙂

I think it is time for that last cup of tea for the day and perhaps one more sandwich. When I’ve bought a cheap, low quality tea and I did that on purpose this time, I like to put in different spices in it. Today I feel like something christmassy so in the tea there will be sliced ginger, cardamom seeds, some cloves and a piece of cinnamon 🙂

I found a Marigold in bloom in my garden today.

My Holly-leaved barberry has buds, I don’t think it is supposed to.

And the Pawpaws are still green.

Have a great day!

Bad but also sort of good news for me today.

No photos from today but some from Forentorp meadows where I was yesterday and perhaps other older ones.

So as You know I had the kidney stone a while ago and then two weeks later I had to get a new x-ray so that they could see if it was gone. Well it was gone but they instead found a one cm big hump on the top on one of my kidneys, so I have had a new x-ray with contrast fluid to see what it is, most likely it would be the beginning of a cyst and they don’t do anything about those since they do no harm. It’s actually really common for people over 50 to have cysts on their kidneys without ever knowing it.

I’m not sure how old these trees are but they haven’t cut the forest here for centuries, so my guess is that the Oaks and Beech trees are way older than 500 years.

So I was at the big hospital in Skövde today to hear about what it is, it is a tumor but still so small that they can’t take any tests from it so they can figure out exactly what kind of tumor it is. My doctor said though that I couldn’t get a better prognosis since they found it so early. They’ll do nothing about it for now, I guess they will have to remove the entire kidney because kidneys tends not to heal well and will continue to bleed for ages if they get a damage.

An old pilgrimage is passing through this area.

So I’ll get a new x-ray around next March- April so they can see if the tumor has grown. If it hasn’t we’ll do a new one in six months but if is has they’ll take a test from it to see what it is and if it is a bad one I’ll have to go through surgery and I guess the chemo or the radiation thing. So not the best news but not the worst either. The worst that my doctor think will happen to me is that I’ll lose a kidney, not too fun but as long as my kidneys work as good as they do there wouldn’t be any bigger problems for me.

This is an old Mill dating back to, I think it was, the thirteenth century. Belongs to the old Abbey ruins up on the mountain in Gudhem.

I realized that it most likely wouldn’t be a good thing when I got the new appointment till today because I also got a paper where I would write down all about my health, surgeries and other things 🙂 🙂 So the last weeks I’d already planned what to do with the dogs and kitten the week I would have to remove the kidney 🙂 🙂 🙂 Now I have at least six more moths to plan even better 🙂 🙂 🙂 I am not even the least worried right now, how could I when the doctor wasn’t especially worried either. I mean if I started to worry my stomach soon would give up totally and then I would feel that it was a waste of time giving up Gluten 🙂 🙂 🙂

So when I came home I spent most time of calling around to tell friends and relatives what is happening and try to calm them down if I noticed them being worried. This is actually the second time they’ve discovered me having cancer so early. The first time they removed a liver spot that had changed color but not from brown to black but from red to brown. They didn’t think it was something to worry about but removed it since it had changed color. The same evening the called me and said that it was something to worry about , it was malignant melanoma and already the next day I had to get in and have more flesh removed. I was really lucky that time because they caught it just in the beginning. It had moved around 2 mm in to my body but not more. I had to go on check ups for five years though.

Why not show You some foggy photos taken with an old analog camera called Agfa Ambi Silette. Must be from last winter I think.

It is time for that last cup of tea and a chocolate covered Hobnob 🙂

Have a great day!

The morning weather was a bit dull and grey so I went to the grocery store before we had our walk, no wind to speak of but it felt like the weather was a bit depressed, out of energy. Could be because the hard winds that passed during the night 🙂 I had just driven out from the parking lot when I for some reason remembered that I hadn’t bought any milk or cheese, I can’t live without either so back to the store I went.

It was quite nice when I came back home again, a little bit more wind and sunshine every now and again. We only had a short walk in the forest because Nova had rather stayed at home continuing to sleep in the sofa 🙂 She didn’t look too happy when I showed her the harness 🙂 Alma is getting better when walking leashed but so far we’ve only tried this when walking in the forest where it mostly is quiet. Today not so quiet though because some trees had fallen during the windy night and every time there came a gust they squeezed towards other trees and then making a noise that sounded like something was screaming very loud 🙂 🙂

Only one walnut had fallen down during the night so there’s still four or five up there on the branches. It’ll take some time before they turn from green to black and I can pick out the nuts. I really don’t need more walnut trees but perhaps I should poke down some nuts here and there when we’re out walking in the forest and by the bog 🙂

I think it is time to have that last cup of tea for the day and perhaps a slice or two from my new baked breads 🙂 I’m not that hungry to be honest but the first ones tasted pretty good 🙂

The last Wildapple apple.

My two Pawpaws still have green leafs and I don’t like that. It would have been better if they’d dropped them and prepared for winter. My seed sown ones are finally in tune with nature and are now spending winter in the cool cellar.

But they aren’t the only ones. The sand cherries have just started to get colors and the peach tree is also still totally green.

Have a great day!

It was there just for a second, then it was gone again.

Sunny and warm today, it did feel like an early summer day with a lukewarm wind blowing as well. I wasn’t sure Nova wanted to follow us on a walk today because yesterday I was pretty sure she wouldn’t last till today. It was tough for her walking up stairs or even get up from the dog bed.

Today it was quite the opposite She was the first one out jumping the stairs as if she was young again and really enjoyed our walk 🙂 🙂 The only time she wasn’t happy was when I vacuumed the floors, she hates the vacuum cleaner and for good reasons because she was severely abused as a puppy when they hit her with the tube and scared her and her siblings almost to death with the machine on. She does accept that I do it but isn’t happy about it, that’s why I usually use a cleaning brush most of the time.

Now the sun rise so late that I can’t say we went out in the early morning 🙂 we did however go out as soon as the sun had risen above the few clouds we had in the sky. We walked out to the bog and on the way we could hear people shouting over at the castles grounds. At first I thought someone was shouting after their dog but then I hear the shots, they were hunting. So instead of going down to the creek we went out to the bog. No moose flies today thankfully but lots of small dragonfly relatives, they are really small but still beautiful even though they doesn’t seem t have any colors.

When we had been out there for a while we slowly walked back homewards. It was time to continue with what I do with Alma now to try and calm her down (so far so good even though all the shouting from the hunting party had stressed her up quite a lot) so we stopped and everything worked as I hoped. That’s when I looked up and ahead of us when a fox slowly walked in front of us. Not even Alma made a sound oddly enough. I picked up my camera, took one photo but didn’t have any time to adjust it and then the fox was gone. To be honest I do think that photo turned out amazingly well 🙂

There it was, just for a second and then it was gone again.

The hunters, well those who shouted to scare the animals towards the hunters anyway, came a bit too close, I think they went over to the wrong side and if they do and are being found out they can actually be seen as poachers, by scaring away animals to be hunted on their area so there’s less animals for other hunters. They could of course have permission but I doubt that. We walked homewards slowly just to be able to enjoy the wonderful weather we had. After that they day has been relatively calm and I’ve baked some french rolls plus the vacuuming, a tough day 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day, watch some tv and then bed.

Have a great day!
