Category: Frost.

Frost tonight?

I have been a little bit stressed today, suddenly the entire internet connection died. I called my phone and internet company and the AI voice said I needed to identify myself with my bank Id, well can’t do that when the internet is gone πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Anyway I was told someone would call me when it was my turn and there were a lot of people before me. Well everything suddenly started to work again so I guess that all those before me in line had the same problem. The Russians? have targeted our telephone/internet companies quite often lately so I guess it was the same again.

It was rather chilly last night, 4C (39,2F) when we woke up. But it might have been even colder in the garden because some plants looked rather sad today. Good thing though is that not even the moose flies fly around in those temperatures πŸ™‚ As soon as we had come home again I drove to the grocery store in the village I used to work. After all I’ve been shopping there since the day I moved to this region and only because I moved elsewhere and don’t work there any more doesn’t mean I never would go there again πŸ™‚ They are like old friends at that place and that’s more important than going somewhere closer or cheaper πŸ™‚

I came back so early that we managed to squeeze in a second morning walk πŸ™‚ This time out to the bog and I kept my eyes open for mushrooms and found plenty so we’ll head out there tomorrow morning again πŸ™‚ It was still chilly enough to keep the moose flies calm πŸ™‚ I’m not sure if there are especially many of them out there to be honest but one moose fly is way too many anyway. The wild hogs had dug up big parts of the path to the bog, it seems it doesn’t matter how many they hunt because it just takes a few days and then they’re back again. Well as long as they stay calm I’m happy.

I had planned to wait to bring in the last potted plants to the cool cellar, they can usually manage the first frost night really well and even more after being outside all summer (totally different in spring when they are brought out again, then they can’t take any frost, that’s why mu citrus trees are rather small this year πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ ) but I noticed that some have new shoots and they looked a bit sad after tonight so I brought in almost everything I still have out there. I can’t however not bring in my tomato plants. So I’ve just been outside covering them. I want at least one ripe tomato before frost can take the rest πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I made rice porridge yesterday and today I think it is time for rose-hip soup, perfect a chilly day or evening when it is a bit too chilly outside. So I think I’ll skip that last cup of tea and have rose-hip soup and some ice cream instead πŸ™‚

I found this and the next one for sale at the grocery store, less than US 3$ each, so I bought them πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

Biting cold today.

The cat refused to move but both Alma and Malkolm behaved really well when we passed it πŸ™‚

It could have been a nice day if it wasn’t for the cold winds from north. They are biting their way in to the core of the body no matter how well dressed we are. We’ve had some sunshine but the wind destroyed that nice feeling as well. We’ll have frost during the night and I can only hope it won’t be too bad but I’ll probably have to scrape ice from the car before going to work tomorrow.

A second crabapple tree is in bloom now so perhaps the one in the forest will have a chance to give fruit anyway but then again we’ll have frost tonight.

Strawberries flower in the forest but as You can see the flower is black in the middle, that means it’s destroyed by frost and won’t give any berry.

It wasn’t that bad in the morning though so we had a nice morning walk in the forest and out to the bog. Both Alma and Malkolm behaved really well when the new neighbours cat refused to move from the road when we came πŸ™‚ I am however very glad they didn’t see the hare in the forest because that would have made Alma go nuts πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I’ve done very little today, after the morning walk I did the laundry and the slow cooker took care of the dinner next week and that’s it. WE even had a nap in the sofa but I still feel rather tired to be honest, despite lots of coffee πŸ™‚ Its pollen season and no amount of coffee can remove that tiredness πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I also had to turn on the radiators because even though we did get rain last night it wasn’t much but it did make the humidity go sky high and the cold arctic winds just made it more cold. Thankfully it will turn towards warmer days again from tomorrow, night might be chilly though.

I think I’ll have that last cup of tea for the day after this and perhaps a sandwich too or I’ll skip the tea and have hot chocolate instead, it’s that kind of day today.

Have a great day!

Heavy frost last night.

My blue White wood anemone.

-6C (21,2F) here this morning. One could feel it in the air already late afternoon that it would be cold but I didn’t think it would drop down that much. The morning walk was really nice though because the sun was blasting heat towards us at the same time as the ground still was so cold that it evened itself out in a way. Alma was really bad at yesterdays walks but today she behaved really well again. For some reason she behaves like crazy when we pass our new neighbours even though we’ve met them several times and she likes both the humans and the dog, Can’t say she likes they cats though even though they run away long before we come close πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

This morning we didn’t walk that way so she was calm all the time, she even managed to stay reasonable calm when a deer ran away from our path and even though she saw a big goose in one of the fields she still didn’t start to scream and pull the leash, I so wish that behaviour could continue from now on but I now that’s just wishful thinking πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ we went down to the creek and it might have been even colder there because there were ice in some places almost all the way down to the water. The plus side with that cold mornings are no ticks waiting to attack us because they have dug down into the ground so they don’t freeze to death.

Otherwise I’ve mostly done chores today, like mowing the lawn, doing most of the laundry (I still have my working clothes to do, for some reason this company doesn’t provide a laundry service for working clothes and that’s the first time that has happened to me, so I’ll do that tomorrow. I still have to bake some bread if I want a sandwich for breakfast though. I do have hard bread at home but I’ve had that for two days now and is a bit tired of it to be honest. We’re having a short work week next week again πŸ™‚ May first is the workers day here but I’ll need to work on Friday again but that’s ok.

I guess it is time to start baking that bread, it’ll most likely be French rolls and since it is a weekend I’ll most likely will have a cup of tea even though it might keep me up all night πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Some managed the frost really well.
Others not so.
I’m starting to fill up the blue barrel with stinging nettle roots, I can win the battle but not the war πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

Spring is sprung.

Still rather cold nights but after follows sunny and spring warm days. It was supposed to be windy all day but it seems the wind lost its breath after noon, so both me and my neighbours have been outside in the garden today and when my neighbours are outside none of the dogs can hear my voice or understand what I’m saying πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Not even the monsterkitten was interesting enough for Malkolm to keep an eye on πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Then again she mostly lays on the kitchen stairs sleeping in the sunshine πŸ™‚

It was just above 0C (32F) when we went out for our morning walk and there was still frost on the trees and snow on the ground where the sun can’t reach it. Cranes flew above us and the small birds in the forest sang their spring songs. We saw a deer out on the bog but it was too far away for Alma to start screaming πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I didn’t mind πŸ™‚ she screamed enough when we passed the new neighbours πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I’ve been busy in the garden for three days now and I must admit that I have some training sourness all over my body πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I’ve done the first more serious weeding both in the vegetablegarden and the bigger one that used to be for vegetables as well but I last year decided should be a sort of flower meadow. Well I failed badly last year but can see signs that it might be better this year. If I had wanted it to be filled with only our wild flowers it would take lots of year to be successful, so instead I’ll have any kind of annuals bees like and also a few perennials. Plus I have lots of garlic growing in there as well πŸ™‚ Perhaps mice, voles and deer will stay away from it if I have πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

So I’ve now filled my composts till maximum and I still have more to remove, well that’s a problem for later. I have lots of vegetable seeds but perhaps I need a few more flower seeds, annuals.Β  Still lots of time for that since nights will continue to stay below 0C (32F) for quite some time more and one never knows what April will be like, could be anything from summer warm to snow storms. So my body is aching but in a sort of good way πŸ™‚ I slept unusually well these two last nights though πŸ™‚

Last years model, new one is approaching soon.

Since something bit off big parts of my Pawpaw seedlings last autumn I bought five more seeds this winter and they arrived three days ago. These seeds are really tricky and even though I managed to get five small trees last year means nothing, I’ve read that not even in nature are the success rate higher than 25%. So all I can do is to hold my thumbs and cross my fingers because they might just as well rot instead. If any start to grow I have no idea how to make them survive next winter since what ever it was that bit them off did it in my cellar. To be honest it could just as well has been a certain monsterkitten that did that job πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ She will not be permitted to be in the cellar next winter πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I know I’ll have to weed it soon again but the big job is at least done. I’ll have potatoes, some kind of cabbage, beans and most likely some peas in there as well.
The coming meadow, I hope I’ll get a better result this year. Why the fence You might ask? Dogs I’ll answer πŸ™‚
The garlic seems to like it, these are just a few of them.
This is a perennial Hollyhock and I do hope more will show as spring is going forward.

It is time for that last cup of tea and perhaps I’ll have one of the newly baked french rolls just waiting in the kitchen πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

A day outside for the monsterkitten.

We’re having a really nice day here, a bit frosty in the morning but temperatures rose when the sun did. So today we’ve had 11C (51,8F) πŸ™‚ There is a wind blowing but it isn’t that cold and like most days it can’t reach my garden.

We walked down to the creek and I must say that Alma is getting better and better walking well. Malkolm is just the opposite but that could be that I only notice it now when Alma has started to calm down πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ We could hear lots of cranes but couldn’t see any, the big migration north has just started and soon I’ll be able to see them flying over us as soon as we’re outside. The doves have arrived too, I do like their sound in the morning when we go outside.

I took a look at my small vegetable garden yesterday and since the weather is so nice I decided I would start removing all the weeds today. This early in spring I can only see the biennals and the perennial weeds and thankfully they grow big enough in autumn that they are easy to see now. It was mostly Aarons’ rod, a few dandelions and also small stinging nettles. The Aarons’rods grow so big that they need to be removed and I did remove most of the dandelions as well, left a couple since I like the leafs in a salad.

Also stinging nettles are nutritious but to be honest, they spread like wild fires and no matter what people say they do sting badly already as tiny plants. Wild raspberries is a bit of a problem here, they too spread fast but then again those berries are probably the tastiest one can find but not in my vegetable patch πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I also found some carrots from last year so the dogs and I shared them πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ All these weeds filled up that small compost I bought last summer, the black one that one can and must spin around to make it work properly.

Where the Pawpaws grow. Doesn’t look much but they have survived the winter, all green beneath the bark πŸ™‚

It was so so full now that I barely could spin it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It works amazingly good, it’s just made of some kind of plastic that also insulated really well. They say it works down to -11C (12,2F) and I believe them. It’s counted as a warm compost and during summer it gets really warm and I put my hands in it now when it was cold and I could still feel warmth in there. I’ll continue tomorrow with more weeding and thankfully I do have a big compost made from the same material that still has some space it it πŸ™‚

She didn’t look too happy when she looked out the door πŸ™‚

Malkolm never far behind.

The monsterkitten was allowed to walk out from the kitchen door by herself today. Can’t say she was especially enthusiastic in the beginning, lots of going in and out at the beginning πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ She did get more brave after a while but as soon as the dogs thought she had wandered a bit too far (4 meters as most wich is much the same in yards) they started to make sure she walked back to the door πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ We’ll have much the same temperatures the coming five days so she’ll have plsnty more times to explore the garden πŸ™‚

Alma was also keeping an eye on her. An exciting day for the monster kitten and she’s been sleeping all afternoon πŸ™‚

Time for dinner I think, have no clue what I’ll make but after that I’ll make a pot of tea πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

It was cold this morning when the dogs, monster kitten and I woke up. -14C (6,8F) but there was no wind at all so when I walked out in to the shine from the rising sun it actually felt rather nice even though I only wore a sweatshirt and sweatpants. It didn’t take long before I could hear drops dripping from the roof.

Still I can’t say that the snow did a lot of melting during the day even though it did become rather warm. Today the birds started to sing again and I could hear cranes from fields not too far away. I could also hear Alma the entire walk because today she decided that whining in a high pitched tone would make us all happy πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ She did behave very well otherwise. Instead I had to scold Malkolm because he decided that if Alma was supposed to walk without pulling the leash someone else had to πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I haven’t done much today though, applied for some jobs and been outside in the garden every now and again. The snow is slowly melting around the early spring bulbs but that’s it. This is the time of year when newly plants die, the ones planted last autumn that is. Their roots haven’t spread down properly Β in to the ground so if the ground still is frozen they’ll dry out pretty quickly when the warmer weather comes, that little soil that they brought with them from the pot will dry out really quickly and since the ground is frozen it can’t get any moisture from it. So just before the cold weather would arrive I was outside watering everything I planted last autumn and those plants that live on the border to what they can manage. All I can do now is to wish that I watered enough.

Everything down in the cool cellar are now getting tiny leafs, rather annoying since I can’t bring anything of it outside and since one of the plant lights I had broke so it is a bit too dark down there now. Can’t do much about it though, not until the nights a get warmer. As soon as they’ve gotten used to be outside they usually can take a night or two in a row without getting damaged. Doesn’t look like that will happen in the closest seven day πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I think I have one peach tree, five apricots, two red mulberries and lots of quince seedlings and even though mice? (could also be a monster kitten πŸ™‚ ) have chewed on all the giant sequoias it still looks like four of them have survived, cross Your fingers and hold Your thumbs for good luck πŸ™‚

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and I hope that it will warm up quickly tomorrow morning (after a pretty cold night again) so I don’t have to scrape ice from the car before I’ll go to the supermarket πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

So now the snow falls again.

Not the best photo but it is at least Cranes, they were flying to the other small lake we have in the nature reserve.

Β

It is snowing again and will continue for a day or two more. How much we’ll get is hard to guess since they change the amount on the web sites all the time. It will most likely stay for the rest of the week but after that they’re guessing we’ll get warmer temperatures again. I’m not surprised though because as the first Crane arrives here we usually get at least one more snow storm before spring really arrives.

The two days previous to this one was quite wonderful though, a bit chilly in the mornings but sunny and temperatures rose to 10C (50F) and above. Lots more Cranes have arrived though so now I can hear them every morning as soon as I go outside πŸ™‚ I’ve also heard the Larch and the Eurasian curlew. The last one has become a bit rare so I always enjoy hearing it again. So even if spring has reached a temporary halt it feels good to know it’s just around the corner.

I’ve been a bit busy now, well busy isn’t perhaps the right word but I have been to an interview at a staffing agency for a job in the same village as where I worked before but for another company. I must say it did feel like a good meeting so now I’ll have to wait and see what happens. The staffing agency will now recommend the people they think will work well for that company so all I can do now is to wait and hope for the best.

A while ago the employment agency asked if I wanted the help from a job coach and I said why not and today I met her for the first time. She asked me what I had done so far to get a job and it turns out I’m doing what they want me to do. I’ll have a talk with her over the phone every second week and meet her in person the other weeks. When I returned back home she had mailed me some links to companies looking for hiring people. So tomorrow I’ll send an application to each place, as long as the orange idiot doesn’t disturb the world too much I might have a chance.

I would say that the cold is gone but the coughing isn’t. Still very little coughing during nights thankfully. Lots of people have that cold or flu or what ever it is at the moment so I guess I should be happy about having it early especially now when we’ll get winter weather back. I could at least go outside to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather, those having it now just have to suffer through it and not have anything to make the day better.

Can You see the back of the wild hog in the middle of the photo?

Our morning walk was quite nice though, despite the cold wind and dark skies. We walked out to the bog and stood at the end of the peninsula. Alma is behaving so much better now, even the whining is quieting down. We stood there at the end looking out over the bog, all quiet, when we suddenly heard something walking towards us in the thicket. Two wild hogs that must have known we were there suddenly showed themselves to us. This was a bit too much for Alma so she started to whine a lot, so they slowly turned away from us and walked in to the thicket again. I did however get a photos of one of them, even if it only was the back side of it πŸ™‚

It is time for something to eat, haven’t had dinner today. Thinking something easy like sausage and baked white beans. I’ll have my last cup of tea for the day after that πŸ™‚

More croci are showing up just before winter comes back.
Also some spring irises show now. They are built to survive some time of winter returning.
Dying needles on the Himalayan cedar, lets hope it just sheds of the old needles and not dies.

Have a great day!Β

A wonderful spring day :-)

I’m glad I didn’t have to go anywhere this morning πŸ™‚

So the cold is slowly getting better and this morning the sun shone, which it wasn’t supposed to do and there as frost on the vegetation so we had a short walk in almost perfect weather. Β It was so nice to finally be breathing fresh air again πŸ™‚ Alma almost behaved so that helped a lot πŸ™‚ The coughing has started to annoy me a bit but it is at least only while I’m awake and not while I’m sleeping. The sleeping leashed to Malkolm works much better than I thought it would, when he does try to walk away towards Alma I notice it immediately, pulls him back and he just goes back to where he’s supposed to stay.

Even though the walk was really nice it still felt like I had run a marathon when we came back home πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ So I had a nap as soon as I sat down but can’t say I feel anything from that now, I’m just as tired as if I hadn’t napped πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ We’ve also been outside in the garden a lot, I continued the cleaning after the dogs at the same time I kept an eye on the dogs πŸ™‚ The Himalayan Cedar looks really good and so do the two small stems on the English walnut tree.

The hardy Rosemary has some frozen leafs but looks fine otherwise. Some frost damage on the red mulberry tree but that one is still much better than the black mulberry and the white mulberry. The pawpaws look amazingly well since they are the least hardy trees I have, much better than the Persimmon tree. I think that if we don’t get any more cold cold periods that all still has survived this winter. I won’t buy anything more when it comes to trees because now I must think where to plant all the seedlings I have in the cellar πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I have at least six small pear trees, five or six apricots, two red mulberry trees and one peach. I really don’t have that space but since when has that stopped a gardener πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Hard to see but the Himalayan Cedar looks really well, conifers this small usually show pretty early if they are dying.

Hardy Rosemary, it’s an variety from the US and seen as the hardiest Rosemary there is.

Snowdrops.

An iceberg in the water barrel πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

It isn’t easy for them but they still manages to play even though they both most likely wants to do something else πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Warmer winds.

So today was the last day with cold weather and sunshine for quite some time it seems, I’ll miss the sunshine but not the temperatures πŸ™‚ The low pressure is arriving with a roaring wind now and it might even be as warm as 10C (50F) already on Saturday.

This morning however was still pretty cold and the sun shone as well. Thankfully once again totally wind free (it arrived later in the day) so it was quite nice being outside walking. Alma behaved reasonable well but Malkolm pulled the leash instead. He’s not that big and strong though so that isn’t so bad to be honest but if Alma isn’t allowed to do it neither is he. I must start thinking about the possibility that the tutor on my kidney has grown and that I’ll get treatment during the summer so having dogs pulling the leash when I most likely won’t be especially strong is a bad idea. However we aren’t there yet so perhaps I can make them both calm down by then.

I’m so lucky that my neighbour works in a supermarket now when Alma is in heat and the shot Malkolm had doesn’t work properly yet because I realised that the cat litter wouldn’t last for long so she brought home a bag for me plus I suddenly had a craving for some soda, I normally don’t drink soda unless I have a head ache so it will be something with caffein in it. Today I wanted something else, so now I have pear soda at home. I didn’t think they still made that so when she said they sold it I really wanted it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I remember when being at my mormors’ (grandmother on my mothers side) I was always allowed to go downstairs to get a soda and I usually chased between raspberry soda or pear soda πŸ™‚ I was also always allowed to take an ice cream if I wanted to πŸ™‚

The monster kitten was allowed to be without the cone of shame for a couple of hours today and she really enjoyed it. Tomorrow it’ll be eight days after surgery so I’ll allow her to be without it even longer and on Saturday she will not have it any more. It should be totally healed already now I think but it might still be a bit fragile I guess so better be safe than sorry. The scar doesn’t seem to bother her at all though Β  but to be honest neither does the cone πŸ™‚ The only thing is that the the place where the cone is tied together seems to be itching, as soon as it goes off the itching stops.

Today I won’t have that last cup of tea for the day, instead I’ll have some pear soda πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

Foggy and cold.

I woke up to a thick fog this cold morning, it was so thick that there wasn’t any idea to take a walk in it πŸ™‚ at least not if I wanted to be able to take some photos. So we had a calm morning where all the animals took a nap on the sofas and I watched something on tv.

It was still pretty cold when we went out but no wind so it was quite Β enjoyable walking around. Alma behaved pretty well for the first time in a long time so that made the walk even better. It was almost totally quiet in the forest except for some quiet tweets from small birds called Long-tailed tit. It is more or less a ball of white feathers and a tail just as long as the body. In my opinion the cutest bird there is. Unfortunately they never sit still for any longer period of time so I never got a good photo of them.

We were almost at home when suddenly tiny snowflakes started to fall around us. They must have been created in the fog somehow and it was an odd sight seeing that it snowed in the fog πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ We were supposed to have sunshine all day but since I like fog I for once didn’t think bad thoughts about our weather service πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Β We did get a few hours of sunshine from around noon and till the sun set so we were out in the garden a couple of times, I don’t dare leaving Alma and Malkolm alone for more than a minute or so so even I was outside πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I was going to do a simple meat sauce today and then boil some rice noodles but then I saw this opened package with frozen vegetables, so I tossed those in as well. I also bought white baked beans from a brand I’ve never tried before. To be honest they don’t taste bad at all but they don’t taste right and by that I mean Heinz baked beans πŸ™‚ I had one package left so I tossed in those as well πŸ™‚ and I do like mushrooms so why not have that as well πŸ™‚ I was looking at it slowly boiling when I realised that I could put in the noodles as well and let them soak in some taste. I now have dinner for at least five day I think πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Since I was going to be by the stove for quite some time making dinner I also baked some bread. Normally I always put grated cheese in the dough but I didn’t have any at home but they turned out quite well anyway. We were in the garden in between and I could see that both the apricot trees and the peach tree looks really well, not even the thinnest twigs had frozen, the same on the red mulberry tree, the white and the black one is badly damaged though. The persimmon has damages and so do the pawpaws but as it looks right now the pawpaws have just frozen at the tiniest twigs. Β It is however the early spring that do the most damage here, when the air is warm and waking up the vegetation but the ground is frozen so the plants can’t get the water they need, so there’s still time for them all to die πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day but I still feel full after that dinner so I will not have a sandwich to eat. Almost sad since the bread is as its best while it still is a bit warm and it isn’t the same to heat it upon the oven I’m afraid.

Have a great day!

A bit less cold today.

Another sunny, beautiful and cold day. Not even close to how cold it was yesterday but cold enough to keep the air dry and therefore not feeling how cold it actually was when we had our morning walk. Some birds were singing in the sunlight and I did hear a couple of ravens but otherwise it was rather quiet out there.

The dog food I had ordered came just in time, there would have been none left to tomorrow otherwise πŸ™‚ Since he came with the package he also brought the rest of the mail to me. Nothing special until I noticed that I have a registered letter I need to pick up in FalkΓΆping. My neighbours are working so I’ll need to bring the dogs with me to the post office.

I’ll have to put Alma in the back attached to the seat belt and Malkolm the same but in the passenger seat beside me in the front. I doubt they would try anything while I’m gone because Alma will be too busy screaming the second I leave the car πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ most likely do what she can to tie herself with the seat belt πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Β I’ll hurry in to the store where they have my mail and hurry outside again as fast as I can just as they open up. Hold Your thumbs and cross Your fingers so that she doesn’t destroy too much in the car πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

It is time for that last cup of tea and after that we have our weekly science program on tv, one of the few programs I actually wants to look at πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

A tad chilly :-)

For being me I woke up quite late this morning, I can’t say that it was anything but dark outside but I could see that it slowly was going towards brighter where the sun would rise. I took a look at the thermometer and then I took a new look at it, -18C (-0,4F). Β It was cold outside but it didn’t feel that cold because of low humidity and no wind. I took a look at the stars and Betelgeuse is still shining bright orange up there. It is 645,2 lightyears away so even if it had gone supernova 500 years ago we still wouldn’t know about it πŸ™‚

The bitter cold weather we’ve had for a few days now will soon leave us. On Tuesday the day suddenly will have above 0C (32F) temperatures but nights will still be pretty chilly. Well I’m not out and about at nights so I don’t mind that but it feels nice that day temperatures will be more pleasant again. I think it was still -15C (5F) when we went out on our morning walk but the sun gave away quite a lot of heat so I enjoyed it quite a lot. Thankfully neither Alma nor Malkolm have sensitive paws. We weren’t supposed to have any snow the other day so of course it snowed πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ we didn’t get much though but I still don’t like it but it does make things look more beautiful to be honest.

Sara the monster kitten seems to feel much better now, she even tried to jump up on the aquarium this morning πŸ™‚ it didn’t work of course and I think I like that cone πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ As soon as we get more stable warm weather I’ll bring her out so that she can start inspecting her domains. Since I think her mother was/ is one of the farm cats up the road I do hope they won’t be too hard on her, my neighbours cats might be something else though, they have reigned in my garden for a couple of years now and might not want to resign.

Nothing much else has happened here like it should be. Tomorrow I’ll go to the grocery store in Gudhem to buy a few things I don’t have at home. I’ll bring the dogs. Alma will have the back seat all for herself and Malkolm in the passenger seat beside me. That would make it very hard for them to reach each other just in case, I really don’t want puppies no matter how cute they are πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

It is time for that last cup of tea and after that it would have been nice to just go to bed but that would most likely just mean I’ll wake up a couple of hours earlier instead πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Have a great day!
