The laundry dried fast today.

Lots of sunshine, very few clouds and totally rain free today. Thankfully we have a strong wind blowing so all flies were blown away. I really should have mowed the lawn but the energy just wasn’t there in my body. For once I had problems falling asleep yesterday night, I guess because I had that long nap earlier in the day and perhaps that last cup of tea a bit late as well.

I did wake up early though, just before 5 am so not many hours of sleep to be honest. We went out on our morning walk quite early as well and walked down to the creek again. Alma was thankfully rather quiet when we passed our newest neighbours so their dogs stayed quiet as well ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ I think they too are morning people since they horses, dogs, cats and chickens but it is still nice that Alma could stay reasonable quiet ๐Ÿ™‚

Nothing special happened during our walk until we were almost at home again, one of the fox cubs stood beside the gravel road and this time I could get a few photos of it. It didn’t notice us because it was looking at the other direction and we stopped rather early so we wouldn’t scare it away. Alma started to whine loudly but for once she listened to me and just looked at the fox. It still has its baby fur but has grown rather large so I guess it won’t be long before it is time for it to find its own new home.

Besides the cub the day has been rather uneventful, The food for next week at work is cooking at the moment, the laundry is done and it dried up really fast in the wind and sunshine. Also I’ve repotted my tomato plants in to bigger pots, one has flower so with a bit of luck I’ll have a tomato or two by the end of next month ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it is time for a bowl of cornflakes and I’ll skip that last cup of tea for the day. The dogs and I had pancakes for dinner and even if I gave them half a pancake extra I still feel a bit too full ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great day!

Quite a nice day despite the rain.

To me this has been a rather nice day, no sunshine but still rather warm, mostly misty rain but every now and again it changed to a nice summer rain, You know the kind that isn’t too heavy and not drenches anyone outside.

So the fox cubs were playing just by the gate but the lens was covered in misty rainwater.

We took a walk rather late today down to the creek. Both Alma and Malkolm behaved so well until we had passed our new neighbours, then we met them just after their home and both Alma and Malkolm were so excited that Malkolm for some reason started yapping, yes it did sound just like that and Alma started bawling like insane ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ The good thing was that their dogs did the same ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ They all really wanted to meet but sort of scared each other at the same time so we had to just keep walking ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

I just like how difficult it is to see that there’s an opening to a path in to the forest that is really hard to see just in front of us.

That’s when the misty rain arrived and unfortunately misty rain sticks like glue to everything no matter what direction it comes from so I couldn’t get any photos of the two fox cubs that played on the gravel road in front of us, they didn’t have the patience to wait for me to clean the lens from rainwater. So I was sort of relieved when the nice summer rain started to fall instead.

Almost no wind today so we were surrounded by forest flies almost all the way. I’ve realised that it is enough to wear a hoodie to keep them away from both the ears and nostrils. I mean they do no harm at all but they have this idea that they need to go inside there to see what they can find and I hate it ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ Still no biting flies here and that sort of builds up hope that they might be very few this summer but I’m sure that’s a false hope ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

The Fireweed in bloom just outside my livxingroom window.

This weather also removed all ideas that a nap would be wrong, not even the dogs wanted to be outside, so I had a nap in the sofa together with Alma, Malkolm decided it was too crowded so he chose the other sofa and the floor. I’m pretty sure the sofas would be great to sleep on during hot days when the bedroom would be like an oven but it tends to be too crowded with me and the dogs but I think I’ll try it next time the temperatures rise too high, after all I might be able to convince the dogs that they can share the other sofa instead sleeping close to me ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Can You see the spiderweb?

I’ve just baked a bread and for once I let it rest and not take a slice or two just after bringing it out in to the world ๐Ÿ™‚ So as soon as I’ve done this blog I’ll have a slice or two together with that last cup of tea for the day ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great day!

It was snowing when we woke up and went out to the garden this morning, mostly tiny flakes though so the roads are white but barely no snow can be seen in the fields. Pretty cold outside but it was the wind that made it feeling too cold. Not around here in my garden but when we passed the fields the cold wind blew right through me.

ย  ย

There are lots of these old roads in to the forest, they were made so that it would be easier to get timber in and out of the forest.

We walked down to the creek and followed it down stream. The surface has already started to freeze, mostly because the water flows really slow because there’s apparently a log blocking the water flowing. So since this is the first time Malkolm has seen frozen water in the creek he happily took a step out on it ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thankfully it was easy to pull him up since he’s wearing a harness ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ He didn’t go down especially far, only up to his stomach so he had wet legs mostly. I think he enjoyed it though ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

The secret passage. It’s almost impossible to see the opening even when looking at in the real. Could be a way to Narnia, I should try it some day ๐Ÿ™‚

ย  ย

The day has been calm after that, we’ve been in and out to the garden and I brought in the wildlife camera, just three blurry photos of our fox. It does look really healthy and it has thankfully been a long time since we had Fox scabies in this area. Dogs can get it as well and it’s easy to get rid of, not to the fox though and they usually scratch themselves to death. My old dogs got it fairly often, three of the four scratched themselves like crazy but the fourth showed no signs of having it. Turns out that some dogs can have it but never react to it, the scabies itself isn’t dangerous for the animal but it’s the mites pooping they are allergic to. She was full of it but never reacted.

ย  ย

I’ve baked some bread today and since the oven was working I threw in some brined pork after the bread was out. Smelled fantastic ๐Ÿ™‚ I think I’ll make macaroni pudding tomorrow and put the pork in it. I think however I’ll make it closer to mac and cheese than the traditional way with eggs and milk and I do hope rice pasta will work. Rice pasta never need to boil for long so I was thinking of perhaps just let it sit in water for a while before mixing it all together and let it soften in the oven.

ย  ย  ย

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and I’ll have some of the bread I just baked. I think I’ll have perhaps some ham and blue cheese on it ๐Ÿ™‚

Malkolm and Sara playing in the living room, a bit blurry but I wanted You all too see how vicious she is ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great day!

It was there just for a second, then it was gone again.

ย

Sunny and warm today, it did feel like an early summer day with a lukewarm wind blowing as well. I wasn’t sure Nova wanted to follow us on a walk today because yesterday I was pretty sure she wouldn’t last till today. It was tough for her walking up stairs or even get up from the dog bed.

ย  ย  ย

Today it was quite the opposite She was the first one out jumping the stairs as if she was young again and really enjoyed our walk ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ The only time she wasn’t happy was when I vacuumed the floors, she hates the vacuum cleaner and for good reasons because she was severely abused as a puppy when they hit her with the tube and scared her and her siblings almost to death with the machine on. She does accept that I do it but isn’t happy about it, that’s why I usually use a cleaning brush most of the time.

ย  ย  ย

Now the sun rise so late that I can’t say we went out in the early morning ๐Ÿ™‚ we did however go out as soon as the sun had risen above the few clouds we had in the sky. We walked out to the bog and on the way we could hear people shouting over at the castles grounds. At first I thought someone was shouting after their dog but then I hear the shots, they were hunting. So instead of going down to the creek we went out to the bog. No moose flies today thankfully but lots of small dragonfly relatives, they are really small but still beautiful even though they doesn’t seem t have any colors.ย

ย  ย  ย

When we had been out there for a while we slowly walked back homewards. It was time to continue with what I do with Alma now to try and calm her down (so far so good even though all the shouting from the hunting party had stressed her up quite a lot) so we stopped and everything worked as I hoped. That’s when I looked up and ahead of us when a fox slowly walked in front of us. Not even Alma made a sound oddly enough. I picked up my camera, took one photo but didn’t have any time to adjust it and then the fox was gone. To be honest I do think that photo turned out amazingly well ๐Ÿ™‚

ย  ย

There it was, just for a second and then it was gone again.

The hunters, well those who shouted to scare the animals towards the hunters anyway, came a bit too close, I think they went over to the wrong side and if they do and are being found out they can actually be seen as poachers, by scaring away animals to be hunted on their area so there’s less animals for other hunters. They could of course have permission but I doubt that. We walked homewards slowly just to be able to enjoy the wonderful weather we had. After that they day has been relatively calm and I’ve baked some french rolls plus the vacuuming, a tough day ๐Ÿ™‚

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day, watch some tv and then bed.

Have a great day!

Insurance companies aren’t there because they love to help, they are there for the money and nothing else.

No it didn’t look like this her this morning but it’s the test photo and it looks so much better than what it did in the real ๐Ÿ™‚

Sunshine in the early morning and lots of wind so almost no insects around to annoy us ๐Ÿ™‚ Nova have had a really good day again, healthy appetite and lots of energy so we walked down to the creek and followed it down-streams. She walked unleashed so sometimes she was far behind us and sometimes the opposite ๐Ÿ™‚

ย  ย

There are three fields with buckwheat, first time I’ve ever seen buckwheat like this.

No Red deer today but perhaps wolves was close, hard to say when the wind is strong and carries smells quick and far away. Alma kept on looking around us all the way down to the creek but after that nothing like that at all. The only animal we met (excluding birds who flew high above us was the Fox we meat quite often and I think it is the same fox we can see sometimes in the cow pasture outside the cottage.

ย  ย  ย

It rained some just before we came home and the weather has been mixed with some showers, lots of clouds but also lots of sunshine. Always a bit tricky to be outside when the weather changes so often and quickly ๐Ÿ™‚ So we’ve only been outside for short moments and since Alma is in heat I really don’t want her to be outside if I’m not there ๐Ÿ™‚ Thankfully still no signs that Malkolm has any interest in her in that way. I really should have neutered her long time ago but I need to take a week off from work so I’m with her while she is healing. After that it’ll be Malkolms turn.

Lingonberry.

The first Hedgehog mushrooms, they are just as delicious as chanterelles.

ย

Like always I let Malkolm off the leash the last part of our walk and he is really good in coming when I call him ๐Ÿ™‚ Unfortunately I had to leash him because of a cat from the farm up the slope. I really don’t want him to chase it and get hurt by that cat, they are all semi wild and know how to defend themselves so Malkolm wouldn’t know what hit him and I really don’t want to go to the vet during a weekend, emergency vets costs a fortune even if they really don’t need to do anything because it’s a false alarm ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

ย  ย

The fox sat there and just looked at us ๐Ÿ™‚

Almost all animal hospitals here in Sweden have been taken over by venture capitalists so costs has sky rocketed and since the insurance companies get their money anyway they don’t complain. It is actually cheaper for us to travel a week to Spain for a week and get the procedure done than to do it here. People complain of course but since the insurance companies walk hand in hand with the venture capitalists nothing happens. Just remember that insurance companies aren’t there because they love to help, they are there to make lots of money and really doesn’t care about anything else. That’s why I have put aside money for my dogs so I don’t have to deal with insurance companies that always find ways to not have to pay anyway.

It is time for something to eat and perhaps a last cup of tea for the day ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great day!

The first autumn colors. This maple always starts in the middle and sometime those leafs fall off before the rest of the tree get yellow leafs ๐Ÿ™‚

I walked up to my mailbox and said hello to this pig ๐Ÿ™‚

A Kestrel.

The church in Vilske-kleva.

Nothing much has happened here in the village since Sunday, just as I like it to be. We’ve had our walks, no morning walk today because I had to go to the town Lidkรถping. I have needed new insoles for my shoes and since they are custom made for my feet I had to go to the hospital to have them make new ones.

ย  ย

The Troll grapes are slowly but steadily getting that deep blood red color I like so much. Seems to be pretty unusual, most becomes just bright red.

Back in the days one had to stand in some kind of clay? so they could make molds so they could make those insoles. Now days they just scan the feet and viola the machine makes new ones. Especially my right foot had changed quite a lot and is now rather flat. While I was there I also had a look on their shoes and they picked out two that would fit my feet much better than the ones I can buy in the stores. Even though both looked like some kind of running shoes one of them, looked like old people shoes ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ I know I’m getting old but I don’t have to advertise it ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ It was quite wide and the soles were not flat to the ground but instead sort of bent upwards at the front.

None of the dogs saw him and he didn’t see them because of a few dense and low pines. We looked at each other for a while and then he trotted away.

ย

The other shoe was perhaps the same with the bending of the sole but not as wide and looked more like a “normal” shoe. Plus they are black and less visible to the world ๐Ÿ™‚ and more expensive. The insoles are for free because I really need them but I’ll have to pay for the shoes (ok not as expensive as they really are but still) aren’t necessary for me to be pain-free. It’ll take a week to make those insoles so I’ll go to the hospital again on August first. Next time I’ll bring a camera because Lidkรถping is a really nice and beautiful town and is places at the shore of our biggest lake, Vรคnern. It is the third biggest natural lake in Europe. I live just as close to our next biggest lake here in Sweden to to the opposite side, Vรคttern. It’s Europe’s sixth biggest natural lake.

ย  ย

Many years ago the politicians in that township did some smart financial decisions so it’s a well of town where everything is nasty expensive and even the rough areas looks like people living there are quite wealthy ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

ย  ย  ย

WE went out for our first walk as soon as I had come home again, I had stopped in Skara to buy soil at a sort of Garden center. I write sort of because they have no space outdoors to grow anything but lots of what You would find in a garden center indoors. They had lots of trees and bushes on sale but I actually resisted to but a Magnolia stellata and lots of carnivore plants to have in the big pot outside ๐Ÿ™‚ I must have to admit that if they had had a magnolia seiboldii I might have fallen and bought it ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll spend money on Thursday instead, I’m going to a pet store that still sell aquarium fish. It is getting pretty rare over here now days, from what I’ve heard they have new rules that acquires them to take training courses to get a license to sell aquarium fish and from what I’ve heard it’s bl…y expensive. Also it isn’t allowed to sell cats or dogs in pet stores, don’t think it never have been allowed to since they opened up pet stores.

Kirengeshoma koreana.

Hardy fuchsia.

Chinese catalpa.

This is a common weed around here, easy to keep in control though so I have a lot in my garden. The flowers are quite small but just look how beautiful they are. I sometimes wonder why they don’t try to get them to grow bigger flowers so it fits the flower beds instead of always use the same flowers for our gardens ?

Any way I’ll try to remember to bring a camera then. Well it is time to stop writing, have a cup of tea or two and later watch Midsommer Murders, I really like that series and it took me quite some time to understand that Midsommer is a huge fictional county, not a small town as I thought ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great day!
