There was a pond just a few yards away from where I lived before I moved here and the dogs and I always walked there every day.
I looked through my old Cd’s with photos and I managed to get some from the old laptop (because my little computer hasn’t any cd player) and mailed them to myself Some of the old Cd’s weren’t compatible with windows 64 or something like that so I couldn’t download them but I was able to look at them anyway. Too bad because then You could have seen the cottage I lived in before moving here.
Albert. He was one of Erna’s brothers.I’m not sure who this one was though. This was Orvar, not the Orvar who lived with me here. This one went to live with a trotting coachman and spent all his days around horses. This one You saw yesterday but this photo is slightly better.
Today was supposed to be sunny and warm but most of the day has been cloudy and a bit chilly. We didn’t have any frost during the night though so that’s something. I’ve been tired all day because for some reason I kept on waking up several times during the night. Have no idea why and I did fall back to sleep in seconds. A bit annoying but I’ll catch up with sleep again now when it’s weekend.
Viran and her puppies...
I need to make my fence higher so that Alma can’t jump over. It doesn’t matter if it is people who lives on this little side road but she’s big and if one doesn’t know her she can look dangerous. Ok she doesn’t even walk towards anyone she doesn’t know but if one is worried about dogs that info isn’t worth a lot 🙂 🙂 I’ll also need fencing in my vegetable patches, Albin has a tendency to eat everything I plant and sow if it is edible 🙂 🙂 🙂 So I’ll start looking online tomorrow, the fence itself isn’t that expensive but the fence poles ars so I’ll look for some kind of substitute, like common wooden rules that I’ll paint so they can stand the weather.
This is here and these are Orvar and his sisters.Hector.Cosmos the catand old Erna. She really was a lousy mother 🙂 🙂
It is time for a cup of tea and then most likely fall asleep in front of the tv, there’s really nothing worth watching on tv tonight 🙂
Have a great day!
Sickan was a much better dog than I deserved 🙂 I made most beginners mistakes with her but she really didn’t care 🙂 🙂
The photos doesn’t come in any particular order, like age or so. It tends to be that the smaller they are the older they are. I can’t remember the password so I can’t reach the photos from my oldest blog unfortunately.
I have nothing much to say really, the wetaher has been nice but today is a bit chilly and we even had some drizzle on my way home and a while after I had come home.
Sickan is the brown dog, Viran the big black to the left and all the puppies were Virans.Erna when she was quite young.Slightly older.and at least twelve years old.Nova, she quite the spitting image of Erna but just half the size 🙂 Too bad that the harness covers the white that Nova also has on her chest 🙂
Work has been flowing nicely and I have had the big gate open when ever I’ve had the chance, like today when I cleaned some things I was about to paint. The sun was shining then and all that nice warm sunshine filled the place.
...
The swallows have arrived and they nest beneath the roof just outside where I paint and where all goods are delivered or shipped away. I do like them but they poop a lot and it’s hard to remove after just an hour or so. Plus they can spread salmonella with their poop so mask is always worn when cleaning it off.
...
Today I’m showing more old photos from when I had this blog at another place, blogger. Some are from 2008 and very small. I have all these photos in the laptop I can’t remember the password for though 🙂 🙂 I really need to find some place that can help me open it up again so I can get photos from old Sickan and Viran too.
....
Have a great day!
...This is Öivind, later on renamed to Maxi. He was the father of Orvar and Hector and unfortunately their mother was Erna, Öivinds sister 🙂 🙂 🙂
...The Daffodils (we call them easter lilies) had started to flower in Falköping. Here at home I can see one bud so far.
So on Monday afternoon they called me from the garage and told me that they had found an oil leak and wondered if I wanted to get it fixed now or later. I said now and they said good, You can get Your car on Tuesday after 1pm. No problems for me, I just called my work place and told them what had happened and they never complain when things like that happens.
My favorite little shop that only is open if one calls ahead and asks to come in. I don’t know much but I do know that the lamp we can see here is pretty expensive...
So I start walking at 11:30 to catch the bus that goes to Falköping at 12:39. Apparently my spine is a bit inflamed which I didn’t know, so after a while it squeesed some nerves that goes all the way down my leg and the walk is 45 minutes long in a good day, yesterday wasn’t a good day at all and I limped badly the last meters to the bus stop but I did make it. After that it’s a fifteen (in a good day) minute walk uphill to the garage. I did reach it after 35 minutes, limping even more bad 🙂 🙂 🙂 I open the door and they guy sitting there says we didn’t get that spare part this morning 🙂 🙂 🙂
...
We will however get it this afternoon. At that moment I actually wondered if it was worth going to jail for the rest of my life after killing him for not giving me a call at all to tell me that 🙂 🙂 🙂 I think he could feel that so then he said But we have a car You can borrow. It’s really good to drive but You mustn’t remove the ignition key when You’ve stopped. I so wish I had asked why I couldn’t do that because every time I had stopped the car I really, really wanted to pull out that key to see what would happen 🙂 🙂 🙂 No problem at work really and absolutely no problems here at home since people can’t find this place even with a map or a GPS 🙂 But I wanted to stop by the store on my way home and some people in that village wouldn’t think for a second before that had stolen that car, a small Renault by the way.
...I took this from the bus on my way home. A bit too dark because it’s almost impossible to see the Abbey ruin beside the church.
So every time I left the car I just placed my fleece jacket over the steering wheel so that no one could see the key sitting there. So I had the car until this afternoon when I finally could get my own car back. I must say that the little Renault was quite nice to drive but the seat was so hard that my back started to act up again. I’m glad that I finally understood how the fan and heating worked because we had frost again this morning. The rest of the day has been really nice though, lots of sunshine and warmer winds. I could have the door open to the painting box as well. Another good thing is that my work friend has come back from his paternity leave. Both because I’ve missed him but also because I finally don’t have to do his job 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’ll still go through all the nozzles in the big washing machine every Friday morning because he can’t leave his little boy at the day care center so early in the morning. I like that part a lot because that means I’ll still have my going home early Fridays 🙂 🙂
I stopped by the lake to see if there were any Cranes there...Stora Bjurums Castle.
Besides this nothing much else has happened. I haven’t worked much this week but I still feel that tomorrow can’t come fast enough 🙂 🙂 If everything goes as planned I’ll start removing grass on the spots I’m planing on having my vegetable patch and also my potato patch.
.Back in the days there was a lively little village beside the castle, almost all of it is gone now. Here there was a yellow apartment building, it was still there when I moved here. There was also a shop(since long closed) and I think an old garage as well. All the old root cellars that all the villagers had are still there though on the other side of this road.
Have a great day!
It isn’t that long ago people lived in these houses. Too bad the castle owners didn’t know that the pandemic would have risen the price on them so much that it would have been a really great idea to renovate them. The pandemic made people realize that living in the middle of nowhere actually would be a great idea since it is harder to get infected 🙂
That cow kept her hostile eyes on me both on my way home and also back to the bus the day after. She had a newborn calf lying just out of sight here.Home sweet home.
We had a really nice weather yesterday, sunshine, little wind and rather warm, especially in the sunshine. I couldn’t enjoy it especially much though. I did think it smelled a bit strange when I made some pancakes on Sunday and it might have been one of the eggs that had started to turn bad. I woke up at 4 am and hurried down to the bathroom because I thought I was about to throw up. I never did but the rest of the day wasn’t the funniest I’ve ever had 🙂 🙂 🙂
This is a part of a sports center. Anything from soccer field to swimming and handball. . .
I didn’t eat all day but I did drink a lot of rose-hip soup. That also made it possible for me to drive to the garage today because there were no risk what so ever that I would have to find a toilet during the time I was in Falköping 🙂 I asked them if they knew if they would start with my car early or late in the day because if they would start late I better take the bus home and go there the first thing tomorrow morning, so we decided it was better for me to go home and come tomorrow morning.
I would most likely felt more sure they know what they do if those hand written signs weren’t there 🙂 They dress furnitures and fill upp the old stuffing as well. Is it called stuffing? well You know what I mean 🙂 We call this pigeon Turkish dove. It looks very much like a Turtledove but is bigger. . I also passed a second hand shop.
The garage is at the top of a mountain called Ã…lleberg and the bus/ train station is at the bottom of it so it was an easy walk 🙂 I was waiting for the bus in the cold wind and suddenly it arrived at a time it shouldn’t. Turns out it was the bus I thought I’ve missed that arrived rather late 🙂 Good for me but not for the bus driver. I jumped off the bus at the lake and there are still some cranes there and after that I had the 45 minute long walk home. Most parts of the walk was wind free thankfully so it was actually quite nice even though I really wasn’t that full of energy after yesterday 🙂 🙂 🙂
. I like this old set. It costs around $ 55 US and I could easily repaint it at work. .
I was supposed to call the garage just before 5pm to check if they were ready with my car but they beat me to it. Turns out that the car is leaking oil so some kind of seal has to be changed. I’ve looked on the net and it’s actually something very cheap??!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Well I guess they’ll need to pour in new oil as well but the seal itself is very cheap 🙂 So now we’ve decided that I’ll get my car after their lunch hour, at 1pm. I’ll drive to work after that, it takes around 45 minutes so I won’t be there for long before my working day is over 🙂 🙂 🙂
They have a rather new miniature golf lane in the middle of the town. . .
I’m so lucky to have that understanding employers! To be honest, living at the outskirts of the world as I do is tricky when the car needs to go to the garage, I actually would have to have two cars to make it work smoothly but with our prices on everything that would be more or less impossible. The last time I filled up my car with petrol it costed something around $10,78 US gallon. Personally I think there are lot of other things I rather use my money on 🙂
. . . The Daffodils flower in Falköping, here where I live they barely have buds. More photos of Falköping and my walk home in my next post.
The sun is shining, the sky is mostly blue and there’s an ice freezing wind there to destroy it all. At first it hit from south east so it was impossible to stay in the garden for more than a minute or two but now it has moved to blow from north so we can finally stay on the south side of the cottage without freezing.
...
We stayed mostly in the forest on our morning walk today but we had to pass a couple of fields and of course we then met eight roe deer. I managed to stop Alma from seeing them but that didn’t stop her from shouting like crazy 🙂 It passed fairly quickly though and the rest of the walk she behaved reasonable well.Too bad I had to occupie her because I therefore couldn’t take any photos of the deer

I sowed twenty kernels of corn in a small container about a month ago and they have all grown together, so today was the day I needed to do something about it. They are quite big now and that helped. I filled a bucket with water and after that I just put the entire lump with corn plants and soil in it. It took around an hour but finally the soil was so wet that I could separate them from each other so now I’ll just plant each and everyone of them in separate pots. Have no idea where I’ll place them because even though the pots are small they will need a lot of space 🙂
...
Also it looks like Alme believes this is grass for her to eat, she tried to chew one of them but I managed to stop her 🙂 🙂 Perhaps I’ll place them in my cool cellar with the plant light. The cooler temperatures will slow down the growing but no dog will be able to chew them down 🙂 My brother’s cherry plum tree is in full bloom now, he lives by the coast. So I took a look at mine and it turns out that a few of its flowers also are open now. I wish it would calm down because frost and flowers aren’t a great thing if one want fruit and we can after all have frost at nights until at least June sixth.
...
I better replant those corn plants and after that I think I’ll sow some cabbage and Broccolo. It looks like a green cauliflower but the taste is more like common broccoli. I’ve grown it before I moved from my old home town and I remember liking it a lot. Well I better get started or I’ll forget to do any of it 🙂
It has been a rather wonderful day here today, yesterday wasn’t that bad either to be honest but we did have some wind that made it feel a bit more chilly than it actually was. Today started chilly and frosty but it changed quite fast and the rest of the day has been warm, nice and sunny.
...I’ve noticed that the more blurry a photo is the better those sparkly dots show 🙂
Well the sun is hiding behind clouds now but it is still rather warm. A low pressure will pass tomorrow and on Friday but the temperature won’t drop especially much, could this mean spring has come to stay now? I do hope so. The birds seems to think so anyway but then again they were singing spring songs almost as much as now when we got that last snow 🙂 🙂
...
I woke up with a really sour throat today and I’ve had some neck pain/ head ache. No fever though and I wonder if it is the corona virus I’ve gotten? So ever since the early morning I’ve eaten small ammounts of honey and as soon as I’ve done that my throat has felt much better. I’ve also had a lot of tea with ginger but I would have had that anyway 🙂
...
One more day at home and then back to work for one day, after that we’re having a four day holiday since it is easter and then on the Friday after that back to the physiotherapist. If my shoulder is better we’ll continue with the exercises if not she’ll send me to the doctor. So far I can’t say I feel much change though, well slightly better to be honest but there’s still time for it to change.
...
I planted the rose on Teodor’s resting place today. We might still have chilly nights though so I’ve placed a big clay pot over it. Both to protect it from the cold nights but also from the burning sunshine. No risk of sunshine tomorrow though so I’ll remove the pot in the morning so that the opening leaf buds can get used to daylight and later on the sun shining.I’m a bit late but I’ve also sown melon seeds and the tomato seeds will be sown tomorrow.
These four were taken yesterday when we walked down to the bog, it was way to wet to walk out there though...
I’ve also started to sow annuals, like poppies and cornflower in the old wheel barrow. Later on I’ll sow californian poppies and nasturtium so I think the wheel barrow will look just as nice this year. I also need to sow morning glories and Black-eyed Susan vines soon so they get a chance to flower at all, they are a bit slow with that I’m afraid.
If You want to see the photos a bit bigger, just open them up in a new page.
It was supposed to be sunny all day here and the sun did show itself in the early morning but clouds arrived and I didn’t see it again until the afternoon. I didn’t mind much though because it reached 10C (50F) anyway so I had the kitchen door open for quite some time.
...
Besides me going to the store to get the rose that will be planted on Teodors grave I did almost nothing yesterday. Well I did my exercises but that was it. There was still snow left on the ground and the other spaces were mostly muddy so I mostly just looked out the window to see my garden 🙂 I was also a bit worried about Nova because her stomach was really bad and she didn’t even want to have a treat.
...
I boiled rice and saith and she wouldn’t even touch it even after I had put in some tune in it, tuna is probably the thing she likes the most to eat. So I kept an eye on her, especially this morning but I didn’t have to worry, today she was so hungry that she ate it all 🙂 She is after all 15 years old and even if she’s in good shape anything small or big can change that quickly. She just growled towards Alma so now I know she’s ok again 🙂 🙂 🙂
...
I haven’t done that much today either to be honest but I did bring up my lemon tree from the cold cellar and I also made that apricot and banana cobbler. I didn’t want to open a big tin of either pears or peach and there wasn’t enough with apricots in that tin so I added a banana. I can’t say that the banana added anything to the cobbler but the ice cream i had made was perfect with the cobbler 🙂
It has snowed again and it looks like this snow will stay all day but melt away tomorrow. It was quite nice this morning, despite it being chilly with snow in the air because there was no wind. We actually went out quite late for being us because I had forgotten to turn off the alarm. So up we went at 3:30 in the morning (well night might be a better word for it 🙂 🙂 ) because the dogs really wanted to go outside.
...
I sat down in the sofa after that and fell asleep, I didn’t sleep well but for quite a lot of hours 🙂 🙂 Alma behaved reasonable well but I was worried when we reached the fields because we have lots of hares here now and I really didn’t want to deal with her screaming as soon as she see some wildlife. No wildlife in sight thankfully but I could hear the cranes trumpeting all around us.
...
I fell asleep again as son as I sat down in the recliner 🙂 I should have had a pillow behind my neck but I must say it is really comfortable. I’ve also done the exercises I got from the physiotherapist and that is much what my day has been like. I’m still just as tired though and days like these I often wonder how on earth I manage to work all day and not fall asleep all the time 🙂 🙂 🙂
...
I think I’ll do a peach cobbler tomorrow or apricot or pear one, I bought canned apricots, peaches and pears yesterday so why not make something like that, after all I have my ice cream to have with it 🙂 It looks like it finally has stopped snowing and now the sun shines as well 🙂
...
I think it is time for a cup of tea and perhaps go outside for a while to enjoy some of the sunshine. After that I’ll most likely fall asleep in front of the tv 🙂
