It will get colder they’re guessing.

Two nice days in a row, yesterday started out sunny and it wasn’t until pretty late in the afternoon the rain arrived, today started with deep dark clouds and rain but later in the afternoon the sun showed itself. From no on they’re guessing that we’ll have sunshine all day long for a couple of days but the temperature will drop rather a lot.

So today I started to bring down the smaller citrus trees and the hardy hibiscus I have outside plus one little tree called Date-plum (Diospyrus lotus, a Persimmon relative). I bought it late in the season since it was for sale and affordable so I felt it was too late to try and plant it since this is on the border to what it can take climate-wise. I do hope that if any mouse would go down there that it doesn’t like to eat the little tree 🙂 🙂 🙂 I know they don’t like any kind of citrus so those will be safe. Then again the monsterkitten is a great mouse hunter and so far I haven’t heard any mice running inside the walls 🙂

The dogs and I went out to the bog yesterday morning so I could pick the mushrooms I found. It looks like I now days am the only one picking mushrooms so I don’t have to worry about anyone else taking them before me 🙂 I fried them with butter until all water had evaporated from the frying pan and then I tossed them in the freezer. I think we’ll be taking that road again tomorrow 🙂 After we had come home I got the idea that I should preserve apples in sugar syrup. It is easy to be honest if one has the right kind of apple, I didn’t 🙂 🙂 🙂 I can however tell You that I might have made the best applesauce I’ve ever tasted 🙂 🙂

After I had drained off most of the sugar syrup I poured it down in to jars, so do anyone know what one could do with lots of rather good tasting sugar syrup 🙂 🙂 🙂 I also baked a big loaf of bread with lots of cheese in it (at the same time I did the laundry) and I must say it is really tasty 🙂 Since I did so so much yesterday I’ve done almost nothing today (except for bringing down those trees to the cellar) , not even napped. I did however since the morning was so dull make some rice porridge,. It’s really a winter porridge but it sort of fitted to the mood both I and the dogs had.

Still getting strawberries but they don’t taste especially much now.
I need to clean the table for some cacti I have but otherwise it looks pretty good. I also have a new led-light ramp beside the old plant light ramp.
Soon I’ll also place five bigger citrus trees here (not so big nowadays since that frost we had early in spring) and a tea tree.

The only thing I still need to do today is to go out to the garden before letting the dogs out for the last time today to make sure there’s no badger out there 🙂 🙂 I have to do that until it gets so cold at night so the badgers decides to just sleep until it’s nice outside again 🙂 I’m just about to have my last cup of tea for the day and perhaps I’ll have a sandwich or two as well. I don’t have much in the fridge but I’ll always have cheese and milk, so tomorrow I’ll have a trip to the grocery store again, So many colds going around at the moment so I’ll drive away as early as possible.

Have a great day!

We are supposed to have loads of rain today, bucket fulls of rain. We did have rain during the night, a soft and gentle summer rain but after that mostly drizzle as best. I’m sort of disappointed to be homes 🙂 Ok the day isn’t over yet and the Swedish weather site says lots of rain or very little in the evening while the Norwegian says sort of what we had during last night, not enough at all. I’m afraid the Norwegian site use to be the one one can trust.

I haven’t been just idling around waiting for the rain though, I’ve made a pasta sauce in the slow cooker and I’ve baked bread as well. Also I decided that I would start the filter in the aquarium again. It is filled with a quarter to what it can take because  I thought the plants in it should survive just in case I would buy some fish again. I emptied since I had to work evening shift a couple of times and didn’t know how wild the dogs would be when I wasn’t at home. I would have liked to have them in the dog yard while I worked but since they bark at anything moving when it is dark outside they would wake up my neighbours and they are just too good to do something like that to.

It took me one hour to get the filter to actually work and not just sound as if it was working again 🙂 🙂 I did fill it with water as much as possible and it still refused to work. It turned out that even though it was filled it still had som much air inside that it couldn’t work. I’ve watered my tomato plants and tomatillo plants with the water that was inside the filter before I cleaned it. Aquarium water is an amazingly good fertiliser so I hope they will enjoy it 🙂 🙂

I was going to cut off the top on this barrel so I could have one more rainwater barrel. Didn’t happen because I can’t for my life find my jigsaw 🙂 🙂 I looked at it just a few days ago and can’t remember where it is 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day, I have in fact the cup beside me 🙂 The reason I made the pasta sauce is because I want to try and bake pierogies, something I’ve never done before. So I’ll put it in a lunch box and in the freezer until it is time to do it. For a while, long ago pierogies were the street food to eat but then the kebab came and now days very few actually seems to know what a real pierogi is. It’s actually raining outside again, still just a gentle summer rain though.

Have a great day!

I also found my grass trimmer :-)

Cool and nice morning today. It had rained some during the night but it didn’t make any difference, the ground is still bone dry. I made a quick trip to the supermarket, just to buy a few things I might need over the weekend. I had a list, followed it but still came home with loads of things, like canned fruit 🙂 🙂 So the trip that would go fast and not cost too much became just the opposite 🙂 🙂

Finally a butterfly eating from the Butterfly bush 🙂
My little meadow is still rather full of flowers.
They started showing late but now I have plenty of them, the California poppy.
The pile is gone, only a few that were too big is left.

My hands have lots of small cuts and they hurt because I forgot how many branches from the wild roses I had put in that other pile of branches 🙂 🙂 🙂 but now I’ve worked through both piles. It was the same with this one, lots of rather old half rotten left and those can easily be handled with the lawn mower. I also found my old grass trimmer in the patio 🙂 🙂 I didn’t have to do anything with it, it just started and worked perfect. The first thing I did with it was to trim away lots of stinging nettles 🙂

Besides this I’ve done very little today, I didn’t even do the laundry I had planned to because the compost grinding too much longer than I thought. I can do that tomorrow if they’re guessing on the weather is right, rain all day as best or very little some of the time as it looks right now. It is time for that last cup of tea for the day and after that I’ll take a look on what’s on tv tonight, I think it’s Death in Paradise tonight 🙂

Have a great day!

It’s getting warmer again.

We were supposed to have sunshine all day today but we only had glimpses of it until early afternoon. I didn’t mind since it now is so dry here that as soon the sunlight hits the vegetation it looks like everything is dying. Chilly nights with lots of dew seems to perk them up. It has been fairly warm though so to avoid the worst heat and most flies I mowed the lawn pretty early in the morning. The flies were there anyway and will most likely stay until they move the cattle again. We also now have a few biting ones and one bit Malkolm on the stomach and it bothers him a lot.

New shoots growing out on the Honeyberry bushes I cut down quite hard.

After the lawn mowing, which went pretty fast since the grass hasn’t grown especially much in the drought, I did some laundry. Not much but heavier things, I have a very small machine so the heavier stuff needs to be laundered by themselves. I have several sweaters that needs to be cleaned but as it is now I’m not really in a hurry to clean them 🙂 🙂 🙂 I also baked some bread and this time in the Owen because I wanted teacakes and the machine can’t do that. Also I had some strong cheese left and I’ve realises that cheese and the machine really doesn’t go together 🙂 🙂

I’ve also cut down another bush, some kind of Cotoneaster. They are seen as a bit of too invasive and since the birds love the berries (taste like shit to be honest 🙂 ) they then spread the seeds everywhere. So since the only reason I had it was because Hornets loves the nectar from that bush don’t show up as much because the Beekeeper has moved with all his bees I really didn’t have any reason to keep it. Hornets loves to eat bees of all kinds and now the honeybees are gone so no reason for them to visit the bush either. I still have most of the roots to remove but thankfully this one doesn’t spread via the roots.

Clarkia, one of my favourites in summer.
My Hardy Hibiscus finally showing buds.
I now have a new hardy Kiwi fruit vine and this one is said to be self fertile so as long as it flowers and there are pollinators around I will bet berries.
No summer without Californian poppies 🙂 Our name for it is Sleepy head in English 🙂

After that I planted three of the pear tree seedlings I have. Pear trees grow pretty big and I rather have something smaller but I know a way to keep them at a reasonable size. I planted them all close together and am planning on trade them together as soon as they are high enough. I have seen it done  but with other trees and it’s a bit too much competition so they will all grow slower and hopefully not as high as they normally would grow to be.

tried to get a better photo of my English walnut but that didn’t happoen

I tried to get a better photo of my English walnut but that didn’t happen 🙂 🙂 🙂

The three pear tree seedlings now planted They need to become a bit more high before I braid them together.

Tomorrow will be really warm and the day after that will be nasty hot according to the guessing at the weather sites. No rain in sight the coming ten days but then again they do guess very bad lots of times, perhaps we at least can have a thunderstorm shower or two when and if that happens. We do have lots of dew though so that saves many plants at the moment. It’s time for that last cup of tea for the day and after that we’ll spend the evening in the garden, I don’t think there’s anything worth watching on tv.

Have a great day!

I’ve done my chores.

I mowed the lawn in the garden yesterday and planned to mow the outside parts today. Turns out my neighbours had mowed most of that so I think it took ten minutes to do the rest 🙂 I also, like always did the laundry, dinner for the coming week and a bread in the machine.

Can You see the little lizard?

I did bake a bread yesterday as well but it was an almost total failure I’m afraid 🙂 🙂 I tried cheese again and also mostly used light flour plus a bit too much water. Well I toasted a few slices and then it turned out to taste pretty amazing. So for dinner I made warm sandwiches with mackerel in tomato sauce and covered it with a strong cheese. I haven’t checked how the bread turned out today but I played it safe with ingredients I know work in the machine 🙂 🙂

The man had made a huge compost with stones. Filling it wasn’t a problem but bringing up the compost must have been a horrible job 🙂 🙂

I would like a root cellar like that!

It has been a bit cooler today and we even had some rain drizzling down from the sky, not that it was noticeable on the ground but it did cool down the air a bit more. They’re guessing we’ll get plenty of rain the coming week but they did that last week as well and we barely had any 🙂 🙂 🙂 So we’ll know better next weekend I guess 🙂 🙂

For the rest of the day I’ve done very little. I’ve watered some plants in the garden and a few in the cottage. The almost white pawpaws are now slowly turning green and as soon as they are green I’ll place them in the shadow outside. I think I’ll have them in a window where There’s no radiator close during winter since they seem to be delicious for mice. I had some mice in the cool cellar last winter, that is until I let the monsterkitten play down there every now and again. After that no mice ate anything 🙂 🙂 🙂

It is time for a cup of tea and perhaps I’ll try a slice of the new bread as well just to be sure it’s ok 🙂

Have a great day!

We woke up quite early today and it was very and gloomy outside. Rather warm but still not especially nice, I can’t say why though because it was one of those things one just feel but can’t put a finger on to understand why. So we didn’t do much in the morning but took a nap and when we woke up the sun started to shine. So our morning walk was quite late 🙂

The first of the wild raspberries to ripen 🙂 They are delicious and so much tastier than the garden varieties. Used to pick loads back in the days but biting flies tends to stay away from them now days.

The wind had also gained strength so that helped with the flies on our walk but then I noticed that those flies we had around us were the biting kinds but I managed to chase away those landing on the dogs and I wore a thick hoodie so they couldn’t do much to me either thankfully. I hope we won’t have especially many around the cottage this year because they prefer more wet areas and we don’t have any cattle around us at the moment and by the looks of it not for the rest of the summer either, the grass is high in the field surrounding most of the cottage so they’ll most likely use it to make silage.

Lots of butterflies here now though and many different species as well, they won’t sit still for long though so they’re hard to get photos of but I managed to get a few anyway. I started to re-pot my citrus plants and other plants that has needed to be re-potted for a long time now 🙂 Almost all citrus plants and my tea bush were badly hit by the last frost we had soothed have mostly only had branches so far but now new growth shows. One is even giving me flowers 🙂

The weather guessing weather sites have now changed what they think we’ll have for weather next week but the different sites can’t agree on much, some say lots of rain and even warmer than before, yay we’ll be living in a steam bath and some says no rain at all but really Scandinavian hot, I’m not sure I like that either 🙂 🙂 🙂 So now I must remember to water all the re-potted plants before I go to work in the morning. Newly re-potted plants need a lot more water than before to survive. I’ve also picked those berries that have ripened in the garden, not much so far, one strawberry, a few red gooseberries, the red currants and five! (out of five bushes) honeyberries. I’m glad I even had some because I need two different varieties to get berries and it only took me ten years until I finally figured that out 🙂 🙂 🙂 they do taste like blueberries now of my favourite berries.

It is time for that last cup of tea and then wash and freeze the berries and then wait for the rest of the berries to ripen so I can make some jam.

This citrus tree, a Kalamodin ( I think it might be spelled Calamodine in English) never fails to flower, no matter how bad it has been treated. New flowers despite it almost died in the last frost. It gives small bittersweet fruits perfect for jam and I guess it could be good to make kalamodin ade as well.

Have a great day!

Todays test photo shows our garbage bins. The green ones if for normal trash and the browns are for food. I almost never throw away food so I’v placed min the wrong way so they don’t have to try and empty it.

It was even nicer this morning, the temperature had dropped down to 7C (44,6F). We did have some morning mist but not as much as yesterday. It is quite common for us to have cool and mostly cold nights and mornings here and that’s why we get all that morning mist when the sun rise and heat up the ground.

It never became that hot as they had predicted thankfully 🙂 but that just made it less hot in the factory and we also had a rather strong wind, so I hoped that the wind would blow away all the flies when we were out walking but oh how wrong that was, the wind blew from the wrong direction so the forest stopped it. Still I don’t think we had a single biting fly pestering us, only the forest flies, so that was a great plus. We didn’t see the fox cubs but they are still hanging around because they had left some poop on the road 🙂 🙂 So if we’re out early tomorrow we might have a chance to see them if they still are here.

It might be impossible to see if You look at this photo on Your mobile phones but on top of that dead tree trunk sits a blackbird with larvae in its mouth.

Nothing much has happened here otherwise. I’ve ordered a memory foam pillow today, I’ve never had one so I hope it is as good as it’s said they are. I’ll also order a duvet, a warm one for the winter. I like it to be warm when I fall asleep but always lower the temperature on the radiator when going to bed. My last duvet was treated the same way as my mattress so at the moment I just have a fleece blanket and that won’t help much when the temperature drops on a winters night 🙂

One of my favourite wild flowers just because the flowers are so tiny. The Swedish name for it is Forest lettuce but it is definitely poisonous so they could have chosen a better name for it 🙂 🙂 🙂

It is supposed to rain on and off the entire coming week but the temperatures will be high, it’ll be like living in a steam bath 🙂 🙂 🙂 Then again I think all of You know by now that it isn’t often they are right in their guessing 🙂 🙂 It could just as well be cold and sunshine or what ever else will pass us on its way 🙂 🙂 Despite all the rain we’ve gotten lately it still is rather dry in the forest, good if one doesn’t like slugs who need wet grounds to grow and lay eggs, bad if one has a shallow well because it will most likely soon dry out if this continues. My well is deep so I don’t have to worry thankfully.

It’ll be an apple year this year. This apple hangs on the tree I once sowed and my neighbours said that it was the most delicious apple they’ve ever eaten. The problem is that it is prune to be hit by different fungus diseases so I never get many apples from it. If I get lots this year I’ll try them in a pie 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea and perhaps a sandwich or two. There’s nothing worth watching on tv, mostly reruns or things I don’t like. So I’ll be in the garden with the dogs and monsterkitten, they’ll take turn is chasing each other 🙂

Have a great day!

Scandinavian hot today.

Blueberries in bloom.

Scandinavian hot today, 25C (77F), thankfully a wind is blowing to cool it down. Then again warm air dries out the ground even more so it’s sort of a damned if I do damned if I don’t situation for nature. They say we’ll get some more rain tomorrow evening though and the temperatures will drop some as well. The good thing though is that the laundry dried up in less than ten minutes 🙂 🙂

I will be surprised if the peach tree survives next winter, It is hit by leaf curl disease and this time it’s the entire tree. I’ve heard peaches usually can handle it when the tree is older but I’ve had so many peach trees dying because of it so I doubt it.

I’ve tried to remove this rose so many times that even I am beginning to give up now, it’s a garden variety of the Cinnamon rose and happily spreads via its roots.

Soon I’ll have my first strawberry 🙂

I know that for many of You 25C (77F) is like a cool summer morning but up here in the north that used to be as high the temperature rose in summer with, of course, the occasional heatwave passing by a day or two before we had more rain 🙂 🙂 🙂 I can’t remember if it is two or three years ago the temperature never rose above 20C (68F) during the month of July and we had at least some rain every day that month. To be honest I didn’t complain even though I did get bored by it before the vacation was over 🙂 🙂 🙂

The potato sprouts I planted has now grown so high that it was time to fill up the entire bucket with soil. It will now produce potatoes along the stem that was just buried in soil. I doubt there will be many per stalk but they usually grow a bit bigger instead.

Three pots with sown rhubarbs. They are so easy to sow that it would have been surprising if even one seed didn’t germinate. Can’t eat any next year because the plant will need all leafs to grow bigger, but the year after that I can start harvesting 🙂

I’m still rather tired today but I guess it’s the combination of one week with high fever followed by a week with evening shift that sort of takes its toll, plus of course the warm weather itself. I’ve tried to not sit still too much, so I’ve done the laundry, started dinner for next week in the slow cooker and now I’m waiting for a bread to be ready to be taken out of the oven. This time I skipped the cheese but have plenty of rosemary in it. Also today I’m trying Teff flour, a cereal growing mostly in Ethiopia but I’ve heard they now grow it in a lot of places. I have used it once a long time ago but can’t remember how it tasted.

I have lots of the creeping bellflower in my garden, over here seen as one of the worst weeds there is 🙂 They are beautiful though and if too many just eat the roots, works great in a salad like radishes would.

I couldn’t for my life figure out what it was I had sown (name tags of course gone 🙂 ) Then I suddenly remembered it, garden varieties of the purple coneflower 🙂

This is truly surprising! Do You remember me telling You about mice chopping off both Giant sequoia seedlings and my Pawpaw seedlings? All looked dead to me but I saved them just in case it would produce new branches. I’ve mostly neglected this one but watered it every now and again. To my very big surprise this morning I noticed that it actually is alive and is producing new branches again 🙂 🙂 🙂 I will take very good care of it from now on 🙂

Not even the dogs are especially active today, they’ve played some but mostly they’ve been napping. I’ve always wondered how thick furred dogs can survive in a warmer climate than what it is here, most of them are knocked out already in our temperatures. We now have loads of insects here but surprisingly few biting ones, that may change quickly now if we actually get the rain that se we’ll get. Not many butterflies though but plenty of different bees and at the moment they are all visiting my wild roses 🙂

Magpies, beautiful, smart, funny and probably one of the most annoying birds there is 🙂 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!

The first butterflies and being lost in Falköping :-) :-) :-)

I’m glad I didn’t have to remove the ice from the car windows when I drove to Falköping 🙂

-5C (23F) here this morning, it wasn’t especially nice at all 🙂 But the sun did show itself and as soon as it did it became rather warm. We walked down to the creek and everywhere the sun hadn’t reached yet was covered in white frost. I only worse a thin anorak but it still rose the temperature beneath it so it almost felt too warm 🙂

I was going to be at the coffin factory at 1pm but they said don’t stress because that’s when the lunch break ends and it will take some time before everyone is working again, that was a good thing to know 🙂 🙂 I had plenty of time when I drove from home and when I reached Falköping I turned on the GPS on the phone and when I did I realised it didn’t work as it should 🙂 🙂 🙂 it refused to show where I was and I could only get instructions on how to get there from Stockholm, our capital around 350 km away 🙂 🙂 🙂

Falköping also seems to be ridiculously bad at putting up the street names so I just couldn’t figure out where I was so I had to call them and ask for directions 🙂 🙂 🙂 Turns out that I had passed the factory twice 🙂 🙂 🙂 This isn’t the first time this has happened to me. When I looked for a job the last time, 18 years ago, I did much the same. That village is tiny and I’ve lived close to it but I just couldn’t find the factory I was looking for, so I drove to another one, the building actually looks more like a office building, to ask for directions. Since I was there I asked if they had a job for someone who worked at Volvo Cars as a painter and assembler for well over twenty years the CEO shouted, our painter is quitting and I haven’t found another, can You start tomorrow 🙂 🙂 I could and stayed there for over 17 years.

Anyway it was a nice little factory with way too much to do and as someone not being there before I couldn’t figure out the logistics in there 🙂 We did the tour and had a chat afterwards. He wanted to know if I would stay until the day I retire and when that would be because he wanted someone who would stay for quite some time. I answered that I’m 60 years old and have no ambition to look for other jobs until I retire, It’s not like I wants to start a career and looking for other jobs 🙂 The pay is more or less what I had but I’ll have a shorter distance to the job. So he said that I’ll know some time next week if I get the job. I usually say that I’ll call at the beginning of the week but that never happens but some time next week at least.

So You will have to continue to have Your fingers crossed and or hold Your thumbs until some time next week 🙂 Now it’s time for that last cup of tea for the day. Tomorrow will be even nice than today and Thursday almost summer like and Friday winter might return 🙂 🙂 To be honest it won’t be that bad but temperatures will drop significant.

This is actually the second butterfly I saw today, the first one was a bright yellow Lemon butterfly. A slo finally heard the first Bumblebee.

Have a great day!

Another warm and sticky day, the morning was nice though and as long as we were out on our morning walk the sun shone and it was just enough warm. It was cloudy for a while after that so it continued to stay nice but as soon as the sun showed itself it went down hill 🙂

Then again that made the laundry dry up fast so I won’t complain too much 🙂 I’ve forgotten to make dinner for work next week but I did make pancakes for me and the dogs, I’ll eat oatmeal porridge at work tomorrow instead 🙂

The heat made me tired so we’ve actually had two long naps today, the first one in my recliner and that really is a great place to nap, the second one in my bed and I was joined by Alma and Malkolm I had started a timer so I wouldn’t sleep for too long but it felt nice to be in bed awake so we stayed there for quite some time 🙂 Normally I just get up and start doing what I am supposed to do so this was a nice change, that of course made me not doing what I had planned to do and therefore no dinner for work 🙂 but it is worth it 🙂

It will stay warm tomorrow until the evening when a cold front will fly in from west bringing cooler weather and lots of rain. I won’t mind the rain since it is quite dry in my garden. I really don’t want any cold weather for quite some time, or not at all but that won’t happen 🙂 The weather pattern has changed quite a lot though, winter used to start in late October and then, if it was really bad, continue in to May, I don’t miss that at all. Now winter comes as earliest in late February, stays a short while and then hopefully spring starts, this year we had summer in May instead, sort of normal rainy summer until August and now summer again in September 🙂 🙂

It is time for a couple of sandwiches and a cup of tea I think and then most likely dozing off in front of the tv 🙂

Have a great day!

Summer is back for a few days.

We had a maintenance day at work today so when I had done the things I was involved in I went home, no need to over do things at a place I won’t stay at. Almost 26C (78,8F), a clear blue sky and thankfully a rather strong and cool wind blowing. Normally I don’t take the dogs on walks when it is that hot but since the wind made it feel cooler we had a walk as soon as I had come home.

Hard to see the yellow crab apples beside the bright red rowan tree berries. Everything seem to ripe at the same time here now.

 b

We walked down to the creek and Nova walked off leashed all the way. We had to go back to find here quite often so at the end it felt like we had walked twice as long as we had 🙂 🙂 🙂 I wonder what had walked that way before us because she stopped every second meter (the same in yards) and stood there for quite some time. I had to leash her when we passed a field because she can barely hear anything ans it was hard to find her in the high vegetation 🙂 🙂 🙂

I thought it was Wednesday today so I’ve been longing for the ice cream van, guess if I feel disappointed now when I realize it won’t come until tomorrow!! Then again the temperature will rise up to 30C (86F) both tomorrow and on Thursday so I think I’ll need it more then 🙂 🙂 🙂 My apples that normally are ripe in late October early November are already ripe to eat. The seed sown apple tree is full of delicious apples and its mother, an Aroma apple, has fewer this year. No matter what I can’t eat that much apples so I’ll give my neighbors as many as they want, especially the kids loves apples so they even eat those normally rather sour wild apples growing beside the dog yard  🙂 🙂

Speaking of neighbors, the Beekeeper has now moved. The owner wanted an insane amount of money for that cottage (not even the realtor agrees on how much the owner wants for that place, said so to a customer who called and asked if there was any house for sale here and if realtors says so one really should listen to them 🙂 🙂 ) The Beekeeper found a house not far from here but up on the mountain and I do hope this is a place he can stay at to the day he himself wants to move elsewhere. I’ll miss him, good neighbors can be hard to find but so far I’ve been unusually lucky and I do hope I will continue to be so.

I’m rather tired today, I woke up three times last night. I drink a lot of water now so that was the first time I had to get up, second time one of the dogs had to go outside to poop and almost made it 🙂 🙂 and the third time it was the old lady who needed to pee but wasn’t really close to make it 🙂 🙂 🙂 She just wakes up, runs down to the door and hope I’ll be there, I’m a heavy sleeper so I rarely hear her walk down but Alma usually makes a lot of noise when Nova runs down, this time I had just fallen asleep again so no chance on me waking up  easily 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’m so glad that this rarely happens 🙂 🙂

One of the Red mulberry trees I bought had one unripe fruit and I think we can call it a flower. Normally I’ve read that one need both male and female trees to get berries but now days there are trees that gives berries anyway but they can be either seed less or give seeds that won’t germinate.

My first ripe tomatoes 🙂 I doubt that I’ll get any more unless it stays warm for a very long time 🙂

My strawberries are flowering and gives me a few berries every week now 🙂

It’s time to go downstairs and watch some Paralympics. The Paralympics isn’t a big cash cow for the big tv channels so they sell those rights to PBS channels so we are lucky to be able to see it on our PBS, Swedish Television 🙂

The Aronia is cut down and it will start to grow again next spring. I have planted the first Red mulberry tree there as well, hoping the mulberry will grow faster and grow over the Aronia in the end.

Alma and I sat on the entrance stairs before the sun hid behind the trees, I drank a cup of tea and she looked through the gate on the cows that now has moved back too the pasture on the other side of the road, she doesn’t like them 🙂

Canadian Goldenrod, seen as invasive has self sown in a pot in my garden, really beautiful. WE had loads of it here back in the days but now it can’t compete with our native plants and we only have it in a few places.

Have a great day!

It looks like all but one of my sown Petunias will have this color.

We’ve had unusually much sunshine today  since we weren’t supposed to have any 🙂 Still mostly cloudy anyway and it has been just enough warm so it has been rather nice, we even had a nice walk later in the day because the flies in the forest really didn’t care much about us. Well there was this one horse fly that insisted on paying me a visit and I can happily say that she will visit no more.

This time it is evening fog I show.

Yesterday I went to a pet store rather far away, a work friend lives just beside it so I had a cup of coffee first. He has one of those really modern and I guess rather expensive coffee makers so I think it is impossible not to make a really good cup of coffee 🙂 The pet shop is rather big and it turns out they sell snakes, spider, turtles, scorpions and aquarium fish. I have nothing against snakes so I took a look at them, I think it was mostly boas and pythons of different sizes but I skipped to look at the spiders and scorpions 🙂 🙂 🙂 I bought myself some fish and went home again. Took a bit longer than it should since I got a bit lost, I also was a bit lost on my way there too so now I’ve seen places in this county I never would have otherwise 🙂 🙂

Lots of Rowan berries this year.

I’ve never seen this butterfly before so I’ve asked the knowledgeable people on FB what it can be.

We had our nap, so so far I’ve still only missed to have one during this vacation 🙂 It was a bit too noisy today though, I have a neighbor with five horses and they are making hay bales and that tractor of theirs have been working quite a lot lately 🙂 I think I snoozed for twenty minutes and today I wished it could have been more because Alma woke me up at 3:10 this morning and it took some time to fall back to sleep again. No stomach problems though, just needed to go an hour earlier than usual.

I went to the grocery store in the village where I work today and they had cheap strawberries and cherries as well, so when I’m done here and have had something to eat I’ll make some jam. It is hard to find cherry jam here and if one would it costs a small fortune and since strawberry jam works for anything that needs jam I thought I might as well do some of that as a well. The few cherries I get from my sand cherry trees won’t go far and they are still unripe, just like the three plums I’ll get 🙂 🙂 and my strawberries gives the odd berry but they tend to start producing berries now, really odd since all other strawberry plants give berries in spring and early summer 🙂 🙂

I better stop writing here and go downstairs to clean those berries and the jars so I can start making that jam. Also the dogs are waiting for me to have a couple of sandwiches so they can get a slice of cheese each 🙂

Have a great day!
