Coughing and sneezing.

So it isn’t the three or four day cold I’m having, it’s the sneezing coughing all night cold I have πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ No fever though so I guess I’ll survive it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

I’m so glad I turned on the radiator in the kitchen last night. The heat goes straight up to the upper floor and in to my bedroom. I do like a cool bedroom but ice cold is a bit too much for me πŸ™‚ It took a while though but until it became warmer I had Alma as a living radiator sleeping beside me, she kept on sleeping all nigh at the same spot so I must admit that even though I was grateful for the help when it was cold it did become a bit too warm in the end πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

The outside thermometer said 1C (33,8F) as coldest and I think it must have been right because the vegetation weren’t covered in ice but the cars had more ice on them than yesterday morning. We also had lots of morning mist so we had our walk in the village. We met a villager, a woman who always are out running. At first I thought she just was one of those people who are obcessed with running because one can see her far from the village at any time of the 24 hours a day contains.

Β  Β  Β

Anyhow, turns out that she is competing in long distance team running πŸ™‚ I had heard she was attacked by a dog, a well know aggressiveΒ  dog, that the owners had in the garden that simply jumped over the fence and attacked her. So since Alma and Malkolm jump over jump over the fence too play with my neighbors kids I stopped her (since we were just beside her home) and asked her if she wanted to greet my dogs so she knows what she meets. So she said that Alma had met her several times so she wasn’t worried about her but she wasn’t sure about Nova and Malkolm πŸ™‚ Malkolm was so polite that he didn’t even try to reach her head when they greeted and I said Nova is 18 and You’ve met her several times so she’s so well behaved that she never is noticed when she’s around πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

I think it is time to have some tea and a table spoon with honey. Never heat up honey because the good enzymes and bacteria in it dies when it is too hot, lukewarm is enough. If You kill them the honey will only become very expensive sugar. So I usually have a spoon of honey either before or after having the tea.

Β  Β  Β

Have a great day!

Β  Β

I doubt that this Red Mulberry will ripen even though I plan to bring this little tree down to the cool cellar. I don’t want to bring in the little tree until it lost its leafs.

So my last work day and it feels just fine

Cold and with some mist this morning, so I used my camera on the way to work, I almost came late to work on my last day of work, had been fun if that had happened for the first time in the 17 years I’ve worked there πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I had to scrape ice from the car this morning but we didn’t actually have any frost, it only dropped to 2C (35,6 F) The sky will be clear again tonight so I’ve moved in some of the more sensitive plants to the cool cellar now and all orchids to the windows facing east or north. I would have liked to bring in more but it’s dark outside so I can’t ind them now, all I can do is to hope that the frost stays away for another night.

Β  Β  Β

Neither me nor my work friend got that bag yesterday πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The boy (who I call the one forcing me to quit) eventually made the work friend go up to the office to collect it himself. I think the boy understood that it would not work on me to go up there like a beggar so just before I was going to go home he had to go and find me πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It was quite visible that he didn’t like that πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The bag had of course the company’s logo on everything but those can be covered with other things πŸ™‚ I must admit that the fleece sweater is really good so I’ll find one of those stickers or what they are called that I simply can iron over the old logo.

This is the beautiful pot I got from my work friend I pick up sometimes on my way to work.
This is the gift I got from the rest, Now I can buy ice cream for quite some time πŸ™‚

The colors are starting to show in the garden.

Now I’ll take a few days of doing nothing but on Monday I’ll call two high end kitchen makers we have in this area, KvΓ€num kΓΆk and Vedum kΓΆk. People who work there really likes it and the pay is much better than in most companies around here I would take any job but they do paint lots of their products and I’m lucky to have learned to paint at Volvo cars and was amongst the last ones to learn everything from painting the cars and check and fix all surfaces before painting, ok that was a long time ago but it’s easy to get it all back thankfully.

My care tree, I don’t think it ever has carried so many berries before.
Lots of apples and these are really tasty.
I could make a lot of rose hip soup if I had the energy to remove all the hairy seeds in the hips πŸ™‚
Time to harvest all then hazelnuts πŸ™‚ First time this bush gives any at all πŸ™‚

My work friends in the painting department Gave me a present today πŸ™‚ They thought the boys thank you for long and faithful service was both odd and fun so they made me a card saying just that and inside it they had bought gift certificates for ice cream from the Ice cream van πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It was also a birthday gift because I’m turning 60 on Sunday πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Have a great day!

Well I don’t feel worse today but perhaps not better either so I guess that it at least will take four days for this cold to leave πŸ™‚ Yesterday I had vacation and it poured down all day, today I’ve worked again and suddenly the sun shone and it was almost lukewarm outside πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ We’ll have a few days now when it’ll be sunny and also clear nights, the temperature will drop because of the clear nights it’ll be cold and my guess is that we’ll have our first frost tomorrow night, even possible already tonight.

Β  Β  Β

There was this meeting at work today where they were telling us about their plans for the future. I really didn’t understand why I too had to be there but got the answer there would be sandwiches and smoothies I could of course not eat any of it and the smoothies turned out to be extremely small, like a shot size cup of it. I think they said it had apple, ginger and turmeric in it and since I really dislike turmeric I avoided it. Most people at work didn’t really know what turmeric tastes and quite quickly realized they didn’t like it either πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Then suddenly the one forcing me to quite my job thanked me and another person who is also quitting his job but for the reason he really didn’t like how they were treating him ( he was the one doing all repairs in the entire factory so that created a panic attack in the leadership πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚Β  )Β  which I enjoyed fully πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ thanked us for the long and loyal service. I was thinking what’s wrong with him πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ For a second I was thinking of asking him that but then again I do respect his sister and father so I stayed quiet πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

However I did get flowers from a work friend and his wife (because I’ve always picked him up on the way to work when the weather has been too bad for him to use his moped), a beautiful pot with Heather and a green plant I never been able to remember the name on πŸ™‚ So I’ve placed it at the best spot here at home and the bouquet I got from the factory is now ending its life in the compost πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Apparently I was supposed to get a bag with what I guess are t-shirts and a sweater. That one never arrived though and I doubt it will tomorrow either πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

It is time for a cup of something warm, like warm cocoa πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

Β

It’s hard to believe that so much rain can fall at the same time πŸ™‚ Well that just means that I won’t have to water anything in the garden for quite some time πŸ™‚ It had rained all night so when I saw that the rain had stopped this morning the dogs and I went out for our walk, It can’t have taken more than a few minutes after we had left the garden when it started to pour down again πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚Β

Β  Β  Β

I’m not complaining about the rain though because withΒ  that kind of weather napping comes naturally πŸ™‚ So we didn’t do much before I left for the hospital and the x-raying. I left a bit early to avoid the rush hour in LidkΓΆping and as soon as I hadΒ  given notice of me being there they called me to get those x-rays. I said already, it’s a half hour until I’m supposed to be here and the nurse then said sometimes one is rewarded for being early πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ So I was finished long before I was supposed to be there πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

It is still pouring down outside so I think I might make it an early night and I hope my nose will stop running and that the coughing will stay calm (and the sneezing) It was a bit bad with both before I drove to the hospital but rather calm now in the evening.

Β  Β  Β

Have a great day!

Am I getting a cold?

So all the photos comes from the folder “For a rainy day”.

I think I’m about to get the cold so many around here already have had, it seems to have gone away after three days so it really doesn’t bother me that much but I sneeze all the time, my entire body hurts and I’m unusually tired all the time.

Β  Β  Β

I’ll have a vacation day tomorrow, I’m going to get x-rayed so they can see if there are any kidney stones left, I really hope there aren’t because I never want to go through that kind of pain again πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It’s in the afternoon so I could have gone to work if I really wanted to but then again this is my last week there so I took a vacation day instead πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

We had lots of thunder and heavy showers yesterday and both my water barrels that can take up to 325 liters (85,85 gallons US) are now completely full again. More rain is on the way and for a couple of days the temperature will stay around 15C (59F) and then rise slightly again. I have really enjoyed these low temperatures again buy I won’t mind if it goes up a degree or two again. It is however supposed to rain again tomorrow and that’s too bad because I was thinking of bringing a camera to show You what the town looks like, it is actually quite beautiful.

Β  Β  Β  Β

It’s time for a last cup of tea and perhaps an ice cream before I fall asleep in front of the tv πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

Another warm and sticky day, the morning was nice though and as long as we were out on our morning walk the sun shone and it was just enough warm. It was cloudy for a while after that so it continued to stay nice but as soon as the sun showed itself it went down hill πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Then again that made the laundry dry up fast so I won’t complain too much πŸ™‚ I’ve forgotten to make dinner for work next week but I did make pancakes for me and the dogs, I’ll eat oatmeal porridge at work tomorrow instead πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

The heat made me tired so we’ve actually had two long naps today, the first one in my recliner and that really is a great place to nap, the second one in my bed and I was joined by Alma and Malkolm I had started a timer so I wouldn’t sleep for too long but it felt nice to be in bed awake so we stayed there for quite some time πŸ™‚ Normally I just get up and start doing what I am supposed to do so this was a nice change, that of course made me not doing what I had planned to do and therefore no dinner for work πŸ™‚ but it is worth it πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

It will stay warm tomorrow until the evening when a cold front will fly in from west bringing cooler weather and lots of rain. I won’t mind the rain since it is quite dry in my garden. I really don’t want any cold weather for quite some time, or not at all but that won’t happen πŸ™‚ The weather pattern has changed quite a lot though, winter used to start in late October and then, if it was really bad, continue in to May, I don’t miss that at all. Now winter comes as earliest in late February, stays a short while and then hopefully spring starts, this year we had summer in May instead, sort of normal rainy summer until August and now summer again in September πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

It is time for a couple of sandwiches and a cup of tea I think and then most likely dozing off in front of the tv πŸ™‚

Β  Β

Have a great day!

We started our morning walk before the sun slowly started to rise up in the sky, around 15C (59F) and it felt like an early summer morning, even some birds sang. I wasn’t sure if there were hunters out in the forest because some of them were here yesterday evening. I wasn’t sure if it was to prepare for today or staying the night to hunt wild hogs and to be honest I was too lazy to check if the sign was up that they put up every time they’re out there, so we had a walk in the village instead. That also guarantees that we wont have to be creeped out by moose flies that has started flying around. I truly hate those flies!

Β  Β  Β

I had hoped for some morning mist and even though I actually saw some it was in a sort of sad way, barely visible and only just above the ground in two places πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ OK one hovered over the old iron age graves and one was hovering over the old stone age tomb but that one was even harder to see. Nova, as always held her own pace, either far behind or far ahead πŸ™‚ It is like she’s a bit ashamed to walk with us and rather not be seen with the rest of us πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

This is a sorry excuse for a morning mist πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

This one is even harder to see πŸ™‚

Cranes moving south.

Since then the temperature has risen a lot, still nice outside because of a breeze but it is getting warmer and warmer now. So both the doors downstairs are closed and all drapes are covering the windows and doors to keep the heat outside but both windows upstairs are open because the breeze blows through the entire upstairs. It’s like a cool wind with a warm touch flows around us all.

Β  Β  Β

I made a pie and used the apples from my seed sown apple tree and they really work good for pies. I had some vanilla ice cream to it so I must say that they day became a bit better while eating it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Not that the day has been bad in any way but pie always make even a good day better πŸ™‚ Otherwise I’ve done very little besides watering those plants that need watering and I might do that again later today when the sun can’t reach the garden.

Β  Β  Β

It is time to have something to eat and I still have some chicken and potato salad left from yesterday so I’ll share that with the dogs. After that I think I’ll have a short nap before it is time to give the dogs their dinner. Nova also wants to thank for the birthday wishes πŸ™‚

Cikory.

Foxglove.

Morning glory.

This dahlia doesn’t look like any of the varieties I bought this spring but that’s what I like πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

We aren’t allowed to have perennial Lupines in our gardens any more but these annuals aren’t bad to be honest.

The Hardy Kiwi has decided to start to flower, only it should have done that in spring.

I haven’t seen any butterflies close to the Butterfly bush yet πŸ™‚ I do hope they’ll come before the frost takes them.

Today is her 18th birthday :-)

18 and still going strong πŸ™‚

So this little lady moved here around 16,5 years ago. An animal rescue organisation called me one day, not especially long after I had had to say goodbye to my “little” girl Erna (she was in the same size as Alma is but the smallest in the pack πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ ) They asked me if she could come to me because the previous older owner had been hit by cancer. The organisation knew me because they got all the cut flowers that still was pretty but too old to be sold and they used those flowers to decorate old pet graves where the owners perhaps no longer were with us, this was back in the days when I had a Garden center.Β

I took some photos on my way to work this morning.

Β  Β

I really didn’t feel like it, it was too early after old Erna but they sent me a photo and Nova looked just like old Erna but half the size so how could I say no πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Nova’s first year consisted mostly of abuse and starvation and living in a dark cellar all the time. After they had rescued her she then went to the older couple who really built her up to an amazing dog but to be honest a completely brat πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Just as it should be after a start like that. So it took a while but the big and older dogs soon taught her to behave πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚Β

Β  Β  Β

She had this idea that hares are animals that should be eradicated from the surface of this planet so, since my dogs back then always walked without a leash, if I missed a hare out in the fields but she didn’t she always ran after them in high speed. Hares are smart though so she never caught any and I never had to worry about her getting lost because she either came back to me or back to the cottage πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ One day, when I had to have her on leash she saw a hare and ran after it, she didn’t come far and almost broke my wrist. That was the only time I’ve ever scolded her in her life and I must admit that when I scold I’m not quiet πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ After that she stopped caring about hares and I have always trusted her after that.

Β  Β  Β

She’s had a 5 cm (2 inches) long tumor removed that grew between her right ear and eye so the eye was saved but her ear had to be closed, chronic ear infections, one vet said her ears were built to be infected, she has no cruciate ligament in her left knee but a cheap orthosis and duct tape keeps it together, so good actually that the vet was amazed and said I don’t know how You do it but continue with what ever it is πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ and she also has cancer but a “kind” one that mostly behaves like a fatty lump. It does spread bout so slowly that she won’t have any problems with it for as long as she has left. Then again she doesn’t seem to slow down especially much so who knows how log she’ll stay after all πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

With age she has become really fuzzy with what she will eat, can’t blame her πŸ™‚ So at the moment she only eats boiled chicken and rice but allows me to also put in some of the dog food the other ton eat as well, not too much though because then she’ll refuse to eat anything πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ She also always wait to start to eat her food until she sees the two other is almost finished with theirs, she knows they aren’t allowed to touch her food (I stay close though because both Malkolm and Alma wouldn’t hesitate to push her away and eat her food themselves). She also takes her time to eat it and the other two stays close drooling until she’s had enough πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

She has never been a cuddly dog so the few times she has lately I’ve had a hard time sleeping because I always fear that that’s her good bye πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚Β  So today they’ve all had some grilled chicken and they will all also have some extra treats (she will of course get more than the others but it can’t be shown, my life is really tricky πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

Heat record for September.

A couple of days old photos since we didn’t have our walk after work today.

We had another maintenance day at work so I managed to get out from work a couple of hours earlier again. Today was much like yesterday but the temperature rose to 30C (86F) so even if the wind was blowing it was much warmer than yesterday so I didn’t dare taking the dogs for a walk, Nova wouldn’t have made it far in the sunshine.

Β  Β  Β

I cover all windows on the bottom floor with curtains so it is several degrees cooler in the cottage than outside when I come home from work. So the dogs have only been outside when they had to, after that they’ve mostly slept close to me. Not even Malkolm have had the energy to play at all.Β t’ll be much the same tomorrow they say but after that it will cool down slowly but steadily over the coming seven days, well that’s what they are guessing at least.

Β  Β  Β

They had heavy thunderstorm closer to the coast all day but the winds from south kept those away from us, it was close though πŸ™‚ Now it’s so quiet in the village, no one is outside but a few dogs, one just on the other side of the field beside my cottage and he barks quite a lot and I can hear a few from the other side of the village. To be honest it feels like in a movie from the deep south where the heat finally breaks people and murders starts to occur πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The only things that really is missing are the cicadas, our katydids seems to have given up on making noise when it is as warm as it is πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Since they started recording weather and temperature this is the hottest September day in history here.

Β  Β  Β

I’m waiting for the ice cream van, should be here in half an hours. I haven’t heard it enter the village yet and it might even be a bit late since I guess lots of people wants to have ice cream in this heat πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Have a great day!

Summer is back for a few days.

We had a maintenance day at work today so when I had done the things I was involved in I went home, no need to over do things at a place I won’t stay at. Almost 26C (78,8F), a clear blue sky and thankfully a rather strong and cool wind blowing. Normally I don’t take the dogs on walks when it is that hot but since the wind made it feel cooler we had a walk as soon as I had come home.

Hard to see the yellow crab apples beside the bright red rowan tree berries. Everything seem to ripe at the same time here now.

Β b

We walked down to the creek and Nova walked off leashed all the way. We had to go back to find here quite often so at the end it felt like we had walked twice as long as we had πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I wonder what had walked that way before us because she stopped every second meter (the same in yards) and stood there for quite some time. I had to leash her when we passed a field because she can barely hear anything ans it was hard to find her in the high vegetation πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β

I thought it was Wednesday today so I’ve been longing for the ice cream van, guess if I feel disappointed now when I realize it won’t come until tomorrow!! Then again the temperature will rise up to 30C (86F) both tomorrow and on Thursday so I think I’ll need it more then πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ My apples that normally are ripe in late October early November are already ripe to eat. The seed sown apple tree is full of delicious apples and its mother, an Aroma apple, has fewer this year. No matter what I can’t eat that much apples so I’ll give my neighbors as many as they want, especially the kids loves apples so they even eat those normally rather sour wild apples growing beside the dog yardΒ  πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Speaking of neighbors, the Beekeeper has now moved. The owner wanted an insane amount of money for that cottage (not even the realtor agrees on how much the owner wants for that place, said so to a customer who called and asked if there was any house for sale here and if realtors says so one really should listen to them πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ ) The Beekeeper found a house not far from here but up on the mountain and I do hope this is a place he can stay at to the day he himself wants to move elsewhere. I’ll miss him, good neighbors can be hard to find but so far I’ve been unusually lucky and I do hope I will continue to be so.

Β  Β  Β

I’m rather tired today, I woke up three times last night. I drink a lot of water now so that was the first time I had to get up, second time one of the dogs had to go outside to poop and almost made it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ and the third time it was the old lady who needed to pee but wasn’t really close to make it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ She just wakes up, runs down to the door and hope I’ll be there, I’m a heavy sleeper so I rarely hear her walk down but Alma usually makes a lot of noise when Nova runs down, this time I had just fallen asleep again so no chance on me waking upΒ  easily πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I’m so glad that this rarely happens πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

One of the Red mulberry trees I bought had one unripe fruit and I think we can call it a flower. Normally I’ve read that one need both male and female trees to get berries but now days there are trees that gives berries anyway but they can be either seed less or give seeds that won’t germinate.

My first ripe tomatoes πŸ™‚ I doubt that I’ll get any more unless it stays warm for a very long time πŸ™‚

My strawberries are flowering and gives me a few berries every week now πŸ™‚

It’s time to go downstairs and watch some Paralympics. The Paralympics isn’t a big cash cow for the big tv channels so they sell those rights to PBS channels so we are lucky to be able to see it on our PBS, Swedish Television πŸ™‚

The Aronia is cut down and it will start to grow again next spring. I have planted the first Red mulberry tree there as well, hoping the mulberry will grow faster and grow over the Aronia in the end.

Alma and I sat on the entrance stairs before the sun hid behind the trees, I drank a cup of tea and she looked through the gate on the cows that now has moved back too the pasture on the other side of the road, she doesn’t like them πŸ™‚

Canadian Goldenrod, seen as invasive has self sown in a pot in my garden, really beautiful. WE had loads of it here back in the days but now it can’t compete with our native plants and we only have it in a few places.

Have a great day!

August was a shitty month but today it’s September.

Yesterday morning. Today there will be a mix of photos from today and yesterday.

I’m sorry about not writing anything these last days but I’ve been a bit under the weather so to speak. No not in pain the medication really did its job but they also gave me a slight fever and a very wobbly stomach. I’ve been so tired that beside walks with my dogs I’v mostly been either napping or watching tv. So since I can’t have this anti inflammatory medicine I’m not sure there is any left that I can use, August has really been a shitty month this year πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

Today however is September and it started sunny with only 2C (35,6F) outside. I must admit that I loved it when we were out walking in the village. It was a bit tricky to figure out what clothes one should wear since it would be really cold in the shadows but as soon as the sun hit it would start to boil inside. Very little shadow when walking there so I just wore a hoodie and normal trousers. I’m glad that I decided to close all windows yesterday because that night it was just slightly warmer and I woke up freezing in the middle of night. I really didn’t want to get up to close all windows so instead I called for the dogs so they could warm me up πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

They’re guessing that it’ll be really warm the coming week and so high temperatures at night that the risk of frost will be zero percent. Some places in this area did have frost during the night but for once it didn’t happen here, I sure hope it takes a long while because only two of my tomatoes are half ripe, the rest are still green. I also hope that I get them before the dogs do because I already had two ripe tomatoes but one morning when I went out to get them most of them were eaten by the dogs πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

I’ve also started to cut down my Aronia bush, I really can’t stand the berries (the dogs and birds love them though) because too many berries and a couple of winters with lots of snow have bent down the branches so much that they were laying on the ground. It was a bit tricky to remove each branch because they were all entwined with each other. I still have some to cut off but there’s no hurry to do that. It will grow up again so already next summer it will become a new little bush. However I was thinking of planting one of my Red mulberry trees there, if it grows fast enough it will soon be higher than the Aronia and I hope they’ll co exists well together.

At least two different varieties of apples hanging on this apple tree.

Β  Β

It is time to make some dinner, I haven’t had that much of an appetite lately πŸ™‚ but I think I can have some pancakes, if not I can have them as dinner at work tomorrow. Just bring some jam and since they are just as tasty cold as warm it’ll be fine πŸ™‚

The biggest of my five seed sown Giant Sequoias, they’ll spend the winter in the cool cellar.

I do hope the flowers open up on this Butterfly bush before the frost comes, won’t be many butterflies around though.

The white flowers on the Woodland tobacco really shines when it’s getting dark around it and the smell is amazing.

My Christmas cactus loves staying outdoors all summer.

Have a great day!

Β  Β  Β  Β

Seed pods from a day lily.

Nothing much has happened here these last days. We’ve had some rain and we’ve had some sunshine and that’s it. I am working with the same things as always and will continue to do so until the day I’m leaving, on Friday the 13th πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Friday the 13th has always been a lucky day in my family so if that means anything that’ll be the day something is going to happen πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Creeping bellflower.

Β

Jerusalem artichoke.

Alma has been unusually challenging when we’re out walking, I guess it is because she’s at the end of her being in heat. Today I finally had a witness to how she can be on our walks, the beekeeper walked with us for a short while, as he said: It seems she’s full of, well something πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I’m still confused to how a dog can be so different on walks towards how she is here at home. She’s an angel here at home (ok she do steal food from us all and can reach everywhere to do so -) πŸ™‚ ) but more like an insane demon while we’re out on our walks πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The longest I’ve ever seen her concentrate on anything is twenty seconds, yes I count the seconds every time she actually finds anything interesting πŸ™‚ after that she’s all over the place again. Here at home she’s calm, does what I ask of her andlooks after old Nova so that she’s ok, a totally different dog. I’m sure she has dog adhd πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β

This apple isn’t what You would call a crab apple, instead it’s a species of apple, Malus sylvestris, that we call Wild apple. Barely edible because it’s so sour but it pollinates all other apple varieties and works amazingly well to make a delicious jelly from.

Well I guess it’s time for that last cup of tea for the day and then fall asleep in front of the tv πŸ™‚

Β  Β

I tried the first apple from my seed sown apple tree, not quite ripe yet but oh so delicious! So anyone who tells You that seed sown apple trees only give sour and bitter apples really don’t know what they are talking about!

Have a great day!
