It has been sticky warm all day (much warmer than they had guessed) with the exception when the thunder passed. It was a meh thunder to be honest and very little rain fell. The little rain did however make sure the humidity went all the way up to 100%.

So I haven’t done especially much today, I watered the vegetables and newly planted tree and bushes and repotted a couple of plants. I had also ordered two Kiwi vines that arrived few days ago. They say that they should survive inside the greenhouse during the winter but I’ll put some burlap around them just in case winter gets hard again. I wasn’t sure how to handle the old rubber sheet I had left from the old pond but I just cut a straight line through it and then placed the vines so it almost covered the entire space it covered before.

These tomatoes will grow very big and we call those tomatoes for Bifftomat, which would be steak tomatoes in English. Takes a long time to ripen if they do because summers are short here.
I might have destroyed a small ant colony that lived beneath the sheet though The first thing I saw was loads of ant eggs and if I had had the rather predatory fish I once had in the aquarium they would have had a feast 🙂 Still black ants never do much to fight animals like aphids so I would have felt worse if it had been those truly nasty red ants, they’ll eat anything including me if they could 🙂 🙂

The dogs have mostly slept through the day but it was cool enough just after the thunder had passed so they took the chance to play a little in the garden. I do hope they’re right about the weather guessing for tomorrow, they say it’ll fall down to 22C (71,6F) and that it will stay that way for the entire week 🙂 Some rain every now and again but that’s just nice after a heatwave to be honest.

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day. I’m making a list of what I need to buy at the grocery store tomorrow, there’s always something one forgets.

Have a great day!
