Still really nice weather :-)

The cherries have stopped flowering and so have most of the apples so now it’s time for the Rowan trees.

Another really nice day here. Sunny all day long, a light and just enough cool wind and almost 25C (77F). Today I went away to the pool all by myself for the first time and all went just as it should. Someone retired today so I also had some ice cream cake 🙂 I was vanilla ice cream and either chocolate or blueberry jam on. I chose the chocolate 🙂

The dogs and I went out on a walk as soon as I came home, I can now tell You that a few horse flies have hatched. I guess one was absolutely new because it didn’t understand that the ones it wanted to bite also can defend themselves 🙂 That particular fly is no more 🙂 The dogs saw animals I didn’t notice at all because they were suddenly really excited about something 🙂

Yesterday I also saw the first dragon fly and today the first damselfly so I better walk down to the creek and follow it down streams just to see if there are more of them there. Lots of butterflies as well but no one of them were polite enough to stay still so I could get a photo of them.

The dogs did actually let me sleep until just before the alarm would start this morning. I forgot to take a sunrise photo but I can say it was really nice today. I watered the vegetables and the newly planted trees, newly planted trees need help with watering all summer long, especially if it its a dry spring and summer like this has been. They are however saying that we’ll get some rain next week but the temperatures will stay above 20C (68F) all week and we’ll get lots of sunshine as well.

The dogs and I had barely come home from our morning walk when the ice cream lorry arrived 🙂 I told him that now when I have a job there might not be anyone at home when he arrives as early as he does, so when I know better what time we’ll be at home he will try to arrive at ours as late as he can but still not make it worse for his other customers of course.

It is time for a pot of tea and after that I’m not sure what to do. There isn’t anything I really want to watch on tv but then again there’s no other place one sleeps as well as in front of a tv showing something one doesn’t want to see 🙂 🙂 and it does feel as a nap would be rather nice right now 🙂

It’s nice your weather is steadying a bit. Ours is up and down, hot and sunny for a few days, then cold. I cut Monty’s hair very short because the forecast said we were in for a warm spell. Of course it cooled off and was rainy. Monty was shivering so I put his sweaters on during the day. He hates his sweaters! He ends up sleeping a lot when he has one on. I prefer him to be awake during the day, because otherwise he needs to go out around midnight. He tells me he wants out by jumping around, flapping his ears and making snorting noises. It always wakes me up, and I grumble as we go out. I worry about him out at night because we have coyotes in the neighborhood, so I use my flashlight to light up the yard and hurry him along. He seems to think nighttime smells are the most interesting.

The Monster can look quite ferocious, can’t she!

  The temperature will stay much the same next week but they’re guessing we’ll have some much needed rain throughout the week.
  
  I’ve started to go outside with the dogs if they need to go outside at nights just in case we would have a wolf in the neighbourhood. No need for any kind of lights now when it is summer though, even if the sun has set we still have quite a lot of daylight during summer nights here 🙂
