Another cold night followed by a really nice and warm day. Sunshine all day long and we saw a lot of animals when we were out on our morning walk. We met our fox and once again I was too slow to get a photo, it really should know by now that it has nothing to fear from us. Even Alma behaved really well, even when we came very close to both roe deer and geese.

Alma has had a really good day today, didn’t pull the leash all the time, just whined a few times even as I said we came very close to other animals. Three days ago it was just the opposite and then we didn’t even see any other animals 🙂 🙂 One could think that she would calm down now when she’s five years old but it doesn’t look like she understands that 🙂 🙂 Malkolm is an angel compared to her, he does pull the leash a little but that’s it.

I’ve continued to dig up roots after the now considered invasive rose the Beach rose (rosa rugosa) and that big rose have been standing there for almost 20 years so You can imagine how big those roots were and how well they stuck in the ground 🙂 🙂 🙂 I need to go outside the fence to remove the last bits but I will need thick gloves when I’ll do that. The thorns aren’t big but there are loads of them and each one acts like a little razor blade 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’ll plants a low growing cherry bush there instead, well there’s space for more than oe so I might get a few more. The first one is already ordered 🙂

Many years ago I planted garlic in the first fenced vegetable garden I did. Many stayed there after I instead tried to make a flower meadow instead. I was never able to make it work properly so instead I have planted a few small black currants bushes there. The garlic has stayed and today I dug up all that was left (actually more of them than I can remember ever planting 🙂 🙂 ) and moved them to the new place around the green house. They aren’t big but oh how they smelled 🙂 There were so many that I also planted some in my raised bed where I think I’ll plants two or three melons, it depends on of the melons survives until I can move them outside 🙂 🙂 🙂 Anyway I’ve never moved any garlic this time of year so I do hope they’ll survive. If they do I won’t have to buy any until next autumn 🙂 Well it is time for that last cup of tea for the day and after that I’ll take another walk in the garden.

Have a great day!

It’s hard to see the garlic but it’s there 🙂

Behind the garlic are the leeks I sowed last year, way too late to be honest, and they’ve started to grow back really well now.
