I’ll remember this storm :-)

I’ve realised that if I write the text to the photo before loading it down here the photo becomes really big. This photo was taken by my neighbour when she came back home from work.

Just a short one today. The weather hasn’t really allowed us to do much more than being in the garden on and off today. The storm roared so much last night that I had problems falling asleep, just as well because suddenly I get two text messages. The only one that does that in the middle of the night is my brother and it’s always something that can wait until the day after. Then the mobile started to alarm, it was my neighbours calling because their trampoline had flown straight in to the dog yard fence and they thought it had destroyed it.

No sunshine today so this and the next photo are a couple of days old.

So out I went and helped to remove the trampoline which was quite fun since the wind had other ideas to where it should go 🙂 🙂  When it finally was tangled out of the fence we then had to move it back to their garden, over their fence, the wind had other ideas about that as well 🙂 🙂 🙂 The only thing that happened to the dog yard fence was that it was detached from the garage wall and that will take around 5 minutes as most to fix 🙂 🙂 🙂

Today I’ve baked bread and mostly relaxed all day. We were supposed to get rain but as best I think one can call it intense drizzling 🙂 I did however wake up at 4:20 this morning because of the sound from the storm and when I opened the door to let the dogs out I heard several wild hogs scream in panic, they didn’t want to be in the forest while the storm was going on and then to suddenly have a human and two dogs coming out was a bit too much for them 🙂 It is time for some rose hip soup and a couple of sandwiches.

Have a great day!

I wrote a long comment but it was eaten by the internet. I am glad your storms did not cause too much havoc! It snowed for two days here, mostly slush. We made an apple pie for Pi day, and it was great. I haven’t had pie in a while.

Pi day probably doesn’t make sense to you. It happens here because we write our dates like: month, day, year. So we write March 14 as 3/14, and it becomes a joke as 3.14, hence π. You would write it day, month, year, so it would be 14/3 and you would never have a Pi day. No pie for you.

    Have a good week

      Hi Carol!

      I hate when that happens!!!
I haven’t heard that anything else happened so I guess this was the most serious accident we had 🙂 🙂 🙂

No pie here but we all know about Pi day here, well at least most of us 🙂 I think they even mentioned it in the news 🙂
I did actually not have any pie 🙂

That was an interesting first photo to see. It took a second to figure out what the heck it was but then it clicked. I can imagine that the wind had other ideas about where that thing should be.

It’s funny about the wild hogs, too, though I’m happy I don’t have those guys waiting outside my door.

Speaking of critters in the garden, the rabbits in the neighborhood have stripped the bark completely off some of the branches of my old quince bush as well as my neighbors’ bushes. They were very selective about which bushes but they took the bark off from top to bottom and all around. The snow was very deep this winter so they could reach high. There was little other food for them that the could get to.

      Hi Caryn!

My neighbour had problems to understand what it was when she came home as well 🙂 🙂 She thought it was my car but my car is white 🙂 🙂

The hogs are really close now when they even use the gravel road outside my garden to get further in to the village.

Too bad about the rabbits! We’ve had very few hares this winter and they stayed outside my garden thankfully 🙂 I’ve had deer and our fox as visitors though 🙂 Now I’m waiting for the badgers to visit, I really don’t mind them but Alma has an evil eye towards them so now I must follow her outside no matter what weather we’re having 🙂 🙂 🙂

The rabbits are plentiful. I think the deep snow was beneficial in that they were able to snuggle down under snow covered thickets and hide from the coyotes while chewing the bark off whatever they were snuggled down under. There is a heavy dose of rabbit scat all over the place.

At least they are kind enough to fertilise Your garden while they slowly eat it away 🙂 🙂 🙂 plus some snacks for Tiki Dog 🙂
