Feeling better and spring’s approaching :-)

We’ve had a couple of wonderful spring days here. Chilly nights perhaps but sunny and warm days. The birds are singing spring songs and I hear the drum rolls from woodpeckers all over the forest. Earlier in February I also heard the owls when it went dark and I do like that sound. Haven’t heard the foxes or the Lynx so far though.

The cold is slowly going away, it shows no hurry to do so though but it is easier to breathe now when the pain is almost gone but a too deep breath only starts the coughing again 🙂 🙂 🙂 It doesn’t feel like I’ve run a half marathon when we come back home after our walks either thankfully. By the way the photos You’ll see today can be from three days, two days ago or from today.

The monster-kitten is back to her evil ways, every day she attacks the dogs 🙂 🙂 Alma has finally started to react to it so the little monster has realised she’s best to use when napping and not playing 🙂 Malkolm still accepts that she chews on him but then again he’s just a year old yet so that might change. His shot has finally started to kick in while Alma slowly is going out of heat. Every now and again though they show that I still can’t trust them being alone for any longer period of time 🙂 🙂 🙂 I must say that being leashed to him during nights is working without any problems at all, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have said that if it was Alma who had to be leashed to me, she would have been dragging me on the floors all over the cottage 🙂 🙂 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day. I’ll have nothing to eat though, a good thing with this cold is that I haven’t been hungry at all, normally no sickness of any kind has dampened my appetite but this one has 🙂 I’ve been under surgery lots of time and every time I have woken up I’ve asked when I can have something to eat 🙂 🙂 🙂

    Happy to hear your cold is subsiding. They can linger on a long time though.

    I love the hoarfrost photos. So beautiful. We haven’t had enough cold or humidity to see any hoarfrost this year. Sad.

      Yes they can and this one will most likely be just as inconvenienced as it possibly can the coming weeks 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Unfortunately we’ve had it cold enough 🙂 🙂 🙂 Then again it is very beautiful and as long as the wind stays calm it will stay on the vegetation. No such thing now though when spring actually has reached us! I can’t remember when it did that early before but there’s plenty of time for setbacks 🙂 🙂 🙂

    I am still laughing at the thought of Alma dragging you through the cottage by her leash in search of a guy. No doubt you are right about that! And she’s letting Sarah know that she was queen of the house first.

    After rearranging my house to clear paths, yesterday was the big day for movers to come and take away my 2 nightstands, one big dresser, a credenza (long table, basically), an entertainment center, and my 2-drawer file cabinet. Goodwill (charity organization with stores selling donated goods) accepted everything but the file cabinet, so I hope my furniture finds a good new life with someone who needs it.

    [Earlier in the week I brought Goodwill 2 boxes containing my whole “thin” wardrobe I’d saved in the big dresser because I finally faced the hard fact that being “thin again” is probably not in my future.]

    THEN the movers went to the rented storage unit and got my late parents’ 2 nightstands, a computer desk where my mother did her makeup, 2 bookcases, a nicer 2-drawer file cabinet, a large wicker shelf, and a massive roll-top desk that now takes up half the living room.

    Three cats (Roc, Tony, and Tater) were locked in my small office for about 5 hours. Miraculously, Tony and Tater didn’t kill each other, probably because Tony spent most of the day scratching at the door. I hoped they might bond over the shared trauma. When the coast was clear and I let them out, Tony and Tater immediately peed on or sprayed both of the new bookcases.

    Tater seemed happy to see stuff from her former home (peeing notwithstanding). Maybe it’s the smell, even after a year in storage. She especially likes the roll-top desk.

    Several side plots made the whole day very stressful (movers were 3 hours late, for example). By the end, I was so sore, I could hardly start putting the house back in order. Not having the strength to cook, I ordered a pizza online and paid for it. But when I went to pick it up, the pizza place was closed and GUTTED inside, without even a sign on the door.

    Fortunately, my phone’s GPS said it was just around the corner. So, I followed the directions and they had my pizza.

    Today, my back is killing me, but I’m slowly getting back to normal. At least now with the furniture here, there’s no rush because a storage bill is due. And now I have fresh reminders of my parents in every room, so that’s bittersweet. But I know they’d be glad I have them.

      Yes finally Sara is being reached about who is the queen 🙂 🙂

      It does feel good to get rid of things no longer needed and if I had had any worth donating I would as well. Many years with dogs and cats has put their marks on it all 🙂 🙂 🙂 but I think filing cabinets are still rather popular over here, it all goes and comes in waves though.
      No chance in being thin ever again here 🙂 🙂

      I’ve always wanted one of those roll-top desk but my cottage is so tine that I wouldn’t be able to fit it in.

      Isn’t it typical with cats 🙂 🙂 The monsterkitten sprayed one of the dog beds as soon as she possibly could. I still have to figure out how to get rid of that smell.

      I live too far away from any pizza place to be honest, I would have to stay there to eat it if I want it warm and they don’t deliver this far away either but did You have to pay a second time or had the order just jumped over to the closest pizza pace? Strange though that they didn’t even have a sign on the door.

      I’m glad Your back is going back to its normal self! Back pain is horrible and even if it feels better after moving around it always goes back to pain as soon as one has been still for a while.

        The pizza place is about a mile from my house. I drive by it every time I go out but never noticed it closed because there’s a big OPEN sign over the door. Their website had changed the address number, but the street was the same, and there was no mention of a move, so I missed that clue when I ordered.

        There’s a little strip mall right behind the pizza place, and that’s where they went. A new little place that looks like a sit-down Italian restaurant had opened next to my favorite Chinese takeout there, but I didn’t know it was owned by the pizza people. The pizza guy’s name is now in small letters under the restaurant name. They had my payment and my pizza ready (3 days later, I’m still eating pizza. I ordered a large). I told them the old place needed a sign on the door about the move.

        My old furniture was cat-scratched and not perfect, but I polished it and tried to make it look usable. It’s good enough for someone just starting out who needs cheap furniture because it’s solid stuff.

        I use a liquid called Nature’s Miracle to get rid of cat pee smell and it works great. There are many brands of enzyme cleaners that neutralize stinky pee molecules, but you have to saturate the area and it takes time to work. Sweden must have some. But if the dog bed can’t be washed or even soaked where it got sprayed, I’m afraid it’s toast.

        I wish I lived a bit closer to any pizza or Chinese place but I’ll survive anyway 🙂 🙂 🙂

        I’ll check what name Nature’s Miracle has over here. Firstly I’ll use my carpet cleaner and then pour out that and hope for the best 🙂

        The only furniture I have that wasn’t second hand are my sofas, the rest was bought used and it is noticeable 🙂 🙂 🙂

    lovely photos today. i like the misty ones, but the winner is that beautiful fungus on the mossy tree stump. it’s wonderful.

      I do like foggy mornings and when they also includes frost I’m really happy 🙂 Still I like this warmer weather better to be honest 🙂

    Thanks, Christer, for letting me know what camera you have been using to take your, as always, beautiful nature photos. You said that the information about the camera you used was at the bottom of the post, but I couldn’t find any information, so maybe I am missing something?

    I have an older Panasonic Lumix which is an all-in-one with a long zoom (600mm). I bought it used online about 6 months ago on the recommendation of a fellow blogger, who has since switched to a different camera. I will admit to not knowing about all of the camera settings and did watch a couple of youtube videos from other users. I will have to go back and try to learn more about it. I didn’t buy it to use for our travels, just for road trips or taking photos in the area and once the weather stays warmer, I plan to talk it along on some walks.

      Sometimes I use more than one camera at a time so I always make sure one can see what I’ve used.

      That’s a nice camera You’ve bough! I think one of my brothers have one of those. I’ve fallen for Nikon so I’ll stuck with that, at least when it comes to digital cameras, when it comes to the old ones I have plenty of favourites 🙂
