Sometimes life just feels like that spruce in the top photo, one is beaten hard by life but one still stand even though it looks like one might be dead 🙂 A week ago Albin did the one thing he absolutely wasn’t allowed to do, he attacked my neighbors little twelve year old dog who wouldn’t hurt a fly. My neighbors dog is ok but I had to say good bye to Albin. The neighbors dog is ok but for a while we thought he was going to die because he coughed up blood. It was a vein in his throat that burst when Albin bit him.

So there was really no other way to handle this and the last week has been shit to be honest. Alma is three years old and Nova soon eighteen so I had to find Alma a new buddy to play with during days. Nova only has that much energy a to spare for playing. So one day I looked at dog ads on Blocket, I guess it’s the equivalent to Craiglist over here. I found two that I thought were interesting, one with a labradoodle- mini american shepherd mix but I was thinking about how much problem people have with labradoodle fur so I skipped that one.

The other one had border collie-english cockerspaniel/ border-collie-golden retriever mixes.. The right size, energetic enough for Alma to play with and finally a dog that I’m pretty sure wants to use his brain 🙂 🙂 🙂 So today I went and picked him up. I named him Malkolm and he is apparently a guzzler so I said that he will fit in well with the rest of us 🙂 🙂 🙂 He was the biggest of all the siblings and the one with the longest fur so perhaps he’ll look like a black (and the other colors he has) golden retriever?

He only whined a couple of times and after that he crawled in to my lap and slept there the entire way home. I didn’t expect Almas reaction when they first met, she growled! She seemed afraid of him at first and it took quite some time before she became friends with him and now she follows him everywhere he goes. Nova Liked him as soon as she met him 🙂 He has explored some of the garden but mostly he’s been napping on my slippers 🙂

I do miss my old Albin but the world doesn’t stop just because one think it should when things like this happens and now we have this new family member that I hope will have a really good life here. Perhaps with lots of luck this guy will calm Alma down because she will take care of him as if he was her own, of that I’m sure. So welcome Malkolm!
