DSC_0004 (4) — There was some early morning mist yesterday morning.

The rain is pouring down and even here where the ground mostly contains sand it’s now impossible to walk around on the lawn without sliding around 🙂 🙂 Still we need it so that the ground water levels finally rise again. We’ve had a warning about our ground water levels for well over half a year now so I do hope this rain will help some.

The heaviest showers have passed but it will continue to rain well into the night. We had rain yesterday as well and also lots of thunder. I didn’t hear much of it because I fell asleep in the sofa when it passed this area 🙂 🙂 We did have lots of sunshine yesterday as well and it was fairly warm so we did manage to take a walk after the hunters had left and before the rains arrived.

I hadn’t used my water boiler for quite some time until yesterday. One day when it was rather nice outside I sat on the kitchen stairs and wanted a cup of te, for once I used tea bags. So I went indoors fetched the water boiler and poured the hot water in my cup. That was when I noticed that some potted plants needed water and though: well I can’t use boiling water, so I went to the rain water barrel and dipped the boiler into it.

Not a smart thing to do since the electric wired to the heat source is at the bottom of it and not water proof 🙂 🙂 🙂 So I’ve let it dry for several weeks and yesterday I tried it for the first time. I was prepared to have to change the fuse but nothing happened 🙂 🙂 I’ve missed it and now I don’t have to buy a new one. I looked ad ads via google and it is amazing how much some of those boilers can cost!

The most expensive one I found would cost something around $ 300 US! The cheapest one would cost something like $ 9 US. I do wonder what that expensive water boiler either did to the water or could do more than just boiling it to excuse that nasty high price. I must admit though that it did look rather nice 🙂

Hi Christer
It’d probably a Smart water boiler. It probably had timers and temperature controls and you can control it from your phone and it can text you when your coffee or tea water is just the right temperature. Maybe it even fills itself from the tap.😄 I have the cheap electric one. It’s my second one in 13 years. The first one sprung a leak in the bottom.
We went to walk by the lake. Just before we got back to the jeep, Piki rolled in poo of some particularly odorous kind. I’d have thrown him in the lake but it’s got blue green algae so he stunk up the car all the way home. I hosed him down before I took him inside and straight to the bath tub. (Do not pass Go. Do not collect a Treat. 🙄) I had to lather him up twice. It was his third bath in 10 days. I’m not sorry for him. 🙂
It’s been raining off and on here since last week but the weekend was dry during the day. Saturday was actually hot. I hope your ground water levels are well charged from your rain. I think we’re still below normal, too.

  I really wouldn’t want a water boiler who could text me 🙂 🙂 🙂 and if it would start to fill up by itself I really would toss it outside 🙂 🙂 🙂 My old one cost less than $ 8 US back in the days and it has been working perfectly, even after I dipped it in the water 🙂 🙂 🙂
  
  Why do they always do things like that 🙂 🙂 That smell sort of sticks in the nose and even if they don’t smell any more the smell still is in the nose. It’s thankfully a long time since any of them here did that but the last time it happened it was Nova who rolled around over a rotten old rat 🙂 🙂 🙂
  
  It poured down the entire day yesterday, today started with frost and ended in sunshine, they say it’ll be much the same tomorrow.
  They’ve actually removed the warning of low water levels in the bigger ground water deposits and that’s where my water comes from but they still warn for those who get it from shallow wells.

Hi Christer,
Right now it is raining. Today’s weather was crazy. We had a damp morning, a sunny afternoon and now evening rain which is supposed to continue into tomorrow.

I remember my friends had a water boiler when they lived in England. That was the first time I had ever seen one. I make coffee but in a coffee machine so I don’t have to worry about boiling water

  It poured down the entire day yesterday but today has been sunny but very cold in the morning. Tomorrow will be much the same they say.
  
  I do make my tea in my new coffee maker (a Don Pedro), it works really well for making tasty tea as well. I do however boil water and pour it over the dog food before the dogs get to eat, the food becomes much like the canned one but just the surface is softy and the inner parts are still crispy plus the water is like the sauce in the canned food. I always thought that a water boiler was a stupid idea but now I can’t live without it 🙂 🙂 🙂

Today is the same type of weather you described, Christer, some wind and a lot of rain in Nashua, NH. Unfortunately, it spoiled my plans to go for a walk in the nearby park area. That will have to wait until later in the week now as falling wet leaves are slippery and I also do not enjoy walking in mud, so a fair weather walker for sure. The colors are lovely in your neighborhood and hopefully there will still be some autumn foliage remaining here. It is not yet at peak here in the southern part of NH compared to the colder northern areas of the state.

  Lots of trees have lost all their leafs now but surprisingly many still have lots of leafs left. I doubt they’ll stay for long though, well below 32F at nights now.
