Chilly nights.

We’ve had two really nice days here, mostly sunny and up to 13C (55,4F). We did have a chilly wind yesterday but as usually it didn’t reach my garden πŸ™‚ Nights have been cold though and water surfaces have been frozen when we’ve passed them on our morning walks. No more moose sightings but one must have passed just seconds before we arrived because the smell was still there. No I can’t really describe what a moose smells like πŸ™‚

The Roe deer are more or less at the same place every morning so that wasn’t a surprise when we passed them this morning πŸ™‚ Very few birds in the sky though, perhaps the chilly mornings made them decide to stay asleep a bit longer Β πŸ™‚ Alma is behaving so much better on our walks now, to my very big surprise. Very little whining but she still pulls the leash badly, still much less now than when she was younger. I guess the energy levels are much lower now when she’s five years old πŸ™‚ She even surprised me here at home, normally when someone comes down the road she jumps over so she can greet whom ever or what ever it is. The problem has always been that she’s over enthusiastic and scares the shit out of most living things πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Today however a village with two black dogs came walking down the road and for once Alma stayed b behind the fence. Could be because the dogs growled but that has never stopped her before πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ So I praised her a lot and loudly and after that she behaved like a diva πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I’ve mostly worked in the garden around the new vegetable garden. Lots of roots go through those places so I removed Tham. I also dug up a few creeping bellflower roots (by the way unless You really don’t need to don’t do it because every single piece of root that’s left will be a new bellflower). They were smaller so they were easy to remove and in a way they looked like white carrots but I took a bit from one of them and they taste more or less like a radish πŸ™‚

After that I had a long conversation with my three year old neighbour about her being strong and brave and that not even her father would manage to just drag up a lilac tree with his bare hands πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Also we both bought ice cream from the ice cream lorry yesterday and she had managed to eat three ice creams since then but I had only had two πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ We had more or less the same conversation a few hours later πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ after that I moved those leeks that grew in the old vegetable garden to the new one. The first thing Alma did was to walk all over them πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Well it just put down a stick so she’ll have to walk around that place next time πŸ™‚

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day. Not much to watch on tv but I’ll check the sowings I already have started and see what else I can put down in to pots. I have two Cape Gooseberry bushes in the cellar but it is way too early to move them outside yet. Before I put them in the garden I’ll cut off most of the branches so they grow new ones so I get more berries πŸ™‚ By the way, if You like I like to sow seeds from trees, those seedlings will need to be fertilised much much earlier than Β flower plants.

Have a great day!
