A Hazel in bloom always mean a stuffed nose for me 🙂
Nothing much is happening here at the moment, the weather change fast but that’s it 🙂 Nothing dramatic with the weather either to be honest, went from rain to sunshine to today with a sunny morning but later the clouds arrived with a biting cold wind, still the temperature reached 11C (51,8F). Even if the wind couldn’t reach my garden it still chilled down the air so it felt much less warm.

I’ve moved out lots of my citrus trees to the greenhouse and if the temperature goes down during nights I cover them with a fibre cloth so the cold will have a harder time to reach them. I’ve also sown a few more seeds, like cucumber melon, the seeds are a bit old so I’m not sure they’ll start to grow but I have lots of other melons I can sow. The fun thing when buying seeds from our eBay, called Tradera, is that many sellers send bonus seeds and one of them added a bad of seeds saying different melons from Vietnam 🙂 I have no idea what they can be so I really need to sow them now 🙂 I also sowed Pasque flower seeds. They can either be sown as soon as they fall off the flower stalk and then they need warmth to germinate but if sown later in the year they need a cold period, so to be sure something hopefully happens I sowed them in a damp paper towel and then in a plastic bag which I put in the fridge. I’ll check on them in a month or so.

Yesterday when the sun shone lots of migrating birds passed above us, most gees. and cranes but I hear more and more smaller birds singing in the trees now and the forest doves arrived a week or so ago. I usually have a couple nesting in one of my trees in the garden so I hope they’ll return. Problem is that the Monster now know they’re there and it is an easy climb for her to reach the nest. Still I must say that those birds are really quiet, I never really hear when they arrive and only know they are here if I actually look directly towards the nest.

I have been cleaning up in the garden as well, especially the area I did last last year, the area where all the roses grew. The rake got stuck in a root so I started to pull up said root with my hands and that showed loads of other roots growing well in the the garden. They are coming from a bush called False spiraea and to be honest it is a bit invasive but is great as a hedge plant and insects really love it. It is a bit too happy to spread though but the good thing is that the roots lies just beneath the surface so they are easy to just pull up. I must admit though that I had no idea how many roots it actually had growing in to my garden, it’ll take lots of time to remove them all 🙂 🙂

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day, nothing much to watch on tv but I have other things to do if I so wish. The pollen season has started so I mostly feel tired and my nose is stuffed but nothing worse than that. Still lots of colds, influences and stomach bugs going around so I feel I really can’t complain abut a stuffed nose 🙂

We had frost yesterday night so there was still ice on the creeks when we were out on our morning walk.
Have a great day!
