Our fox passing by during the night.

A really nice day here. Started a bit chilly but we had no wind to talk about and we had the sun shining almost the entire day. I was checking if the peonies were showing yet and they are and to my joy I found the first tiny rhubarb leafs showing as well 🙂 The saffron croci I planted last autumn seems to have survived as well, the leafs have stayed green all winter covered by the snow we had. It will flower next autumn if they survive the summer, they aren’t the hardiest of flowers so if we get a rainy summer they’ll most likely rot away.

We walked down to the creek this morning, then followed it up-stream and in to the old forest. After that we walked on a road that usually is hard to walk on since it is placed on very swampy ground but the last nights cold weather made it just strong enough to let us walk it. I did see a few Roe deer in a field but otherwise it was unusually quiet for being a warm spring morning (we almost reached 10C (50F) today. The larks sang high up in the sky over the fields, a few Jays argued and some geese passed by.

We’ll get another cold night now and I’ll make rose-hip soup and I’ll have one of the soon freshly baked French rolls just waiting to be put in the oven 🙂 I’ll have rose-hip soup instead of tea tonight and unlike tea make me a bit sleepy. Full moon last night I think and I can’t even pretend I slept especially well 🙂 Too bad the ground still is frozen solid otherwise I would have been really tired after working in the garden with the new vegetable garden. Well a few more warm days might do the trick 🙂

Have a great day!

Nice to see the first shoots coming up! I am going to plant some peas and lettuce, so that will be fun.
