Fog and rain.

There was a big shallow pond just outside my home when I moved here 26 years ago and every spring I could hear hundreds of frogs, sounded almost like bells. The farmers did what they could to remove all that water and unfortunately they were quite successful. Now days I barely hear a frog at all.

I woke up to a very foggy morning and I liked it 🙂 As You all know by now fog is one of my favourite weathers 🙂  I think it had rained during the night because there’s almost no snow or ice left, just a few spots in the forest but that’s it. It has been grey and dull after that but now it’s raining again. I really don’t mind rain now but it does give some problems, the ground is deep frozen so the water has very few places to move to. If we’re lucky the ground didn’t freeze to far down and as soon it has thawed the mud will sink down rapidly since there’s only sand beneath the grass roots.

Then again the deeper the ground has frozen the more ticks and fly larvae will have died so I feel sort of torn about it 🙂 I do prefer muddy floors before lots of nasty insects and ticks during summer 🙂 🙂 The news in the village today is that we might get a new neighbour at the end of our road, renters not buyers (I warned them about how previous renters had been treated when they wanted to buy the place just in case they would get that idea) . I talked to two people about what it is like here and that I love this place still after 26 years of living here. They did look ok until I mentioned that we on and off gets visits from wolves and that the wild hogs now also walks in the middle of our road during nights. They had already seen tracks at the end of the property so they, if they move here, most likely will put up a fence around the garden.

Besides this nothing special has happened here. I’m continuing of checking my citrus trees for pests, I’ve sowed four different rhododendrons and I’ll sow hardy kiwi seeds later today. I watched the world championships for juniors in Biathlon and to everyones surprise a Swede won a gold medal today 🙂 Today everything worked for that guy so we hope it’ll continue like that for the rest of the championships 🙂 The mouse I heard walking in the walls was captured yesterday so I’ve also been away to release it far away from the cottage 🙂 Even those I know had returned walked in to the trap this winter, they just can’t resist the coconut flakes 🙂

Well it is time for that last cup of tea for the day. Today is the last semi final in the Swedish Eurovision song contest. So far I’ve liked one song and the rest has been sort of meh. Next week is the final and after that we’ll know what song we’ll send to what ever country it was that won last year. I have no idea what country it was that won but I do remember not liking it at all 🙂 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!
