More snow but it’s melting away :-)

Snowfall and fog at the same time today 🙂

It has been slightly less cold today than they guessed it would be 3C (37,4F) but the three to four inch of new snow we had last night melts away a bit too slowly for my taste. I must admit though that I wasn’t as annoyed about this snow than I would have been if I had known the temperatures would have stayed much colder than it is 🙂 This will melt away in a couple of days if their guessing on the temperatures will be what we’ll get 🙂 I now at least have lots of rainwater I can use to my potted plants and I have already used some of it for my aquariums 🙂

no wind today either so we could really enjoy or morning walk. Jays were either arguing with each other or warning for something they thought was dangerous and I did hear a raven as well but otherwise we couldn’t see or hear any animals. Lots of tracks from hares though so I guess they didn’t shoot any yesterday when they were out hunting. The dogs barked a lot all the time though but I guess none of them is trained for any special animal so they could have been barking because there were lots of wild hogs in the area. After the hunters had left yesterday I saw the back of a Fallow deer as it ran away from me and the dogs and also a Roe deer peacefully eating out on the bog.

The wild hogs still pass my garage and also the fox. I had a really good photo of the fox but managed to erase it from the wild life camera. A bit annoyed about that but I really can’t blame anything or anyone than myself. The camera will stay outside tonight as well 🙂

I’ve had an easter cactus, a November/ christmassactus and a couple of leaf cacti (epiphyllum hybrid) standing down in the cool cellar all winter. They haven’t looked their best since the temperature dropped down so much a couple of weeks ago, so I brought them up the the slightly warmer 🙂 cottage. The easter cactus is already thanking me by showing lots of buds and I think it won’t take long before the November cactus will do the same. Not sure about the leaf cacti though, it might have been too cold for too long time for them but they are alive so there’s a chance. One year and a half ago I bought some Pawpaw seeds, do You remember that? All but two had germinated so I just let the last two seeds stay in the plastic bag just checking if any holding was going on. One of those seeds started to rot so I tossed it away and then kept on checking the last one. It germinated last week!! So I’ve planted it and now I’m waiting for it to show a tiny stem 🙂 I’m pretty sure it will be weak after all that time but I’ll help it as much as I can 🙂

Besides this very little has happened here. I’m not going out into the traffic when there’s still so much snow left and it rarely happens anything here anyway, which is just like I like it. No Olympics to watch on tv so now I need to thinking of things to do again 🙂 🙂 I am sowing seeds go course, I’ve been out on our eBay called Tradera and bought some seeds and quite often when one opens the letters they arrive in there are more seeds they’re giving as a surprise. I don’t think I’ll need to buy any more tomato seeds for the five coming years 🙂 🙂 There’s also melon seeds, pepper seeds, a berry I don’t remember the name gn but it’s a relative in the solanum family and lots more 🙂

It is time to make a pot of tea, the dogs and I have already had some pancakes as dinner, well they’ll get the normal dinner later on so I guess I can say I had dinner and they had a snack 🙂

Have a great day!
