The photos today were taken last Monday. I have no idea to why this blog post looks so odd with big spaces empty furthet down but they’ve made lots of changes here on WP lately and I must have missed something š š šWe’ve had sunshine for two days in a row now but that will not happen again any time close again šĀ It was nice while it lasted though. It is cold all the time now and they’re now guessing this cold weather will stay until at least the end of March. The jet streams over the arctic. seems to have collapsed again so all that cold flows down further south to us and I think it might be the same over the American continent. My electricity bill was not fun this time so I checked my electricity contract and changed it.
As it is now until the last of this month I pay the average price during the month and during the warm part of the year I pay less than if I had a binding contract but I’ve now changed it to a locked price the coming six months so if this cold weather stays I’ll pay around a third less per kilowatt. We could have really cheap electricity here but since we’ve joined the EU we now pay much more. The price is levelled at what the most expensive power they use in the EU, so even if our price should be low we still have to pay the more expensive price they have here in Europe. I really can’t understand that but that’s the way it is.
So I made that banana jam and I had it on two of the pancakes I had yesterday. Well I hope the birds can eatit, they’ll get loads of vitamins and energy from the sugar š š So now I’ve tried it and never will I try it again š š šĀ It didn’t taste banana at all but more like lemon and the consistencyĀ was like somewhat rubbery marmalade š š plus the colour did look way too much like something pouring out from an infected wound š
Lots of the Olympic games on tv right now and so far it has been great from Swedish eyes seen š Yesterday we won the gold medal in the Single mix curling over the US team š š I have to say that I was quite convinced the US would win but our skipper made some pretty good shots towards the end and it wasn’t until the last stone our team won š Also our ladies won gold, silver and bronze in the cross country ski sprint race š Our men competitors in most sports aren’t as good as our women it seems so I just listen with one ear when I know it is our men competing but watch it with full attention when it is our ladies š Today it’s the women biathlons competing and I’m pretty sure we’ll be amongst the top there even though France is the big favourite to be honest.
I can never find the flour varieties I want and need when going to the grocery stores here, so I’ve given up and I’m now ordering it online instead. The same price or cheaper and I get it delivered to my door for the same cost as if I had driven to the store myself. So we’ll have no walk until the parcel arrives because for some reason I need to stay at home to sign to get the parcel. This time I’ve ordered oat flour, sorghum flour and millet flour. I’ve experimented with different kinds of flour to get as close as possible to a real french roll š š Millet seems to be the flour that actually makes it come as close as possible š
It is time to make a pot of tea and then I’ll start baking a bread with what I have at home in the slow cooker. I found a recipe online to do that so I’ll try it today.
