Still waiting for those warm temperatures.

That spruce beside the birches looks like the perfect christmas tree (or Yule spruce as we call it).

Since I knew we would have both snow and rain later in the day I drove to the supermarket as soon as we had some daylight. The road outside the village wasn’t especially well plowed but the big road thankfully was, we had gotten some snow during the night but most of it was already plowed away. No rain so far though but lots of snow, I do hope they’re right about warmer weather is on the way but it is still below 0C (32F) here.

I am a bit irritated about this supermarket now. Since I can’t eat wheat, rye or barley I have to buy other kinds of flour, like sorghum or buckwheat and they were out of most other flours before christmas and they still haven’t ordered them. I guess I’ll have to go to Falköping instead because there’s one place that always make sure to have other kinds of flour. They do have oat flour but as it says on the packet it can contain gluten. Most of the times it doesn’t but sometimes it does and a lot of it as well. So I’ve decided to order it online instead. If I include the gasoline price when I go to the store it will be much the same to have it transported to me.

They did however have everything else I wanted plus I found spare ribs for sale so I forgave them this time 🙂 No more mice caught in the box trap and it sort of feels good since it has been so awfully cold outside. They wouldn’t have had a chance if I had had to leave them outside in this weather. Also since the monster refuse to go outside now she instead wants to go down in to the cool cellar several times a day 🙂 🙂

It is time to make a pot of tea and I’ll have a couple of sandwiches too since I now have something to put on them, You call it condiments we say pålägg which would be onlays in English 🙂 🙂 🙂

Have a great day!

  1. Here is a difference in how weather is reported here in Virginia. You say that when there are clouds, it feels warmer.

This morning, the weatherman said that it will feel colder today because of the clouds. We don’t have any snow on the ground, though and it has been near 60F lately, which is warmer than usual, though they say back into the 30sF tomorrow.

I recently heard that Congress stopped Trump from cutting funding to our NOAA, which is the national weather service. Trump and Musk fired a lot of the meteorologists months ago and wanted to shut it down completely so nobody would have any idea if tornadoes, hurricanes, or blizzards were coming. They probably wanted to increase the chances of killing more of us, or to watch more people suffer when they refused to send any federal aid to rebuild our homes if we survived.

    1. Hi catsworking!

Well there’s a difference with this if it is day or night to be honest. So if the sun shines during the day it will feel a bit warmer since the sun gives us heat. If it is cloudy during the day that heat from the sun will reflect out to the space instead (then again if You think of a hot summer and clouds suddenly covers the sky the heat that would be bouncing back to space then instead gets trapped by the clouds and it can even feel much warmer). At night if there isn’t any clouds covering the sky the heat from earth will rise and go out in to space but if there are clouds covering the sky that much of that heat will instead bounce back towards the ground and therefore it will be warmer for us. I hope You understand what I mean 🙂

I’m afraid that You’re right about that. That’s one way to kill their own voters because it looks like the ones living in the worst areas when it comes to whether catastrophes are their voters. I really can’t understand what, if anything, goes around in their heads.

      1. You’re right about them killing their own voters. So much of what they do to hurt Democrats, like making health care obscenely expensive, actually affects the poorer people in Trump states more, and their state governments don’t care because they follow his orders. It’s suicidal for their party, really.

Here, in the summer, it’s cooler if the day is cloudy, so I don’t think heat gets trapped by clouds. And in the winter it would be warmer on sunny days too. I don’t think clouds provide insulation to keep it warm. I do understand what you’re saying on that. It doesn’t seem to work the same here.

How much dirt can he have on these people who just follows what he says? I’m pretty sure he has lots on the top politicians but the rest? I really don’t get it!

You live in a warmer climate so perhaps that’s what does the difference?
