Lots of water in the creek.

So we had a night without any disturbance thankfully but Alma was in a hurry to go outside. She hurried away behind some bushes in the garden so I couldn’t see how bad it was but she’s full of energy and happy so I guess she’s ok.

She’s not the one pooping outside the garden unless she’s desperate and that was what she was when we were out on our morning walk and this time I could check how bad her stomach was, I have seen worse 🙂 and most of what comes out are peanuts! I have no idea how much she ate from that big bag of peanuts but by the look of it at least a third of it 🙂 🙂

So she’s getting better but she farts and the smell is something that most likely can knock down a rhino 🙂 🙂 It is a horrible mix of sweet, sour and something that must have been dead for a week or so. I’ve tried to let the wind blow through the cottage, sprayed more of that air cleaner and used loads of matches but it has already sort of stuck to the walls and furnitures! I better go to the grocery store in Gudhem tomorrow to buy more rice.

Besides that the day has been rather nice, we walked down to the creek this morning and the latest rain has really filled up the creek again. It would of course not have been this full of water if the beavers hadn’t blocked the concrete pipe that goes beneath the gravel road. The thing is that I haven’t seen any more traces of beaver activity and haven’t in a few weeks so if they’ve moved they really should unblock that pipe. If we’ll get more rain which is quite possible that creek soon will overflow and start filling the fields as well 🙂

It is time to have that last cup of tea and some ice cream as well 🙂

Have a great day!

  1. Sarah looks like she’s thinking about how gross dog farts are in that last photo. Maybe it’s because I’m a cat person, but your description of Alma sneaking around to hide her diarrhea and peanut farts has me laughing until I’m crying. I hope it teaches her never to touch peanuts again.

But to be fair, around here we occasionally have this thing we call “ass juice.” It’s a particular pungent smell the boy cats have, and I’m pretty sure it’s from their anal glands. They have always cleaned themselves and gotten rid of it, but I know some cats get compacted and the vet has to squeeze out the ass juice.

But even cat ass juice is nothing like the smell of dog peanut farts.

    1. Hi cats working!

Well tone honest hers doesn’t smell like roses and mock orange 🙂 🙂 🙂

Looking back even if it’s just a day or so back it is fun how she behaves 🙂 🙂 I’m afraid this will teach her nothing 🙂 🙂 I had the bathroom door open for a while and it didn’t take long before she tried to get in and have those peanuts again 🙂 🙂 She will never learn about actions and consequences I’m afraid 🙂

  2. It’s been awhile, Christer, since I have read your bog posts. Sorry to read about Alma’s peanut reactions, which do sound very nasty. We do like pets, but do not regret not having any now. Visiting those of others is easier because we do not have to care for them. We visited with a golden lab and French bulldog during our family Thanksgiving travels.

We were away for over a week and since then I have been caught up in holiday things, not shopping, but setting up decorations outside our apt and inside as well. I am leaving on a short tour to NYC this weekend and looking forward to seeing holiday lights now that ours are all done.

    1. Hi Beatrice!

Well as Lon as it only bad stomach it’s ok 🙂 She still poops out the occasional peanut though 🙂 🙂 🙂

I can fly understand not wanting to have pets, especially since You two travel so much. I’m pretty sure Alma and Malkolm will be the last dogs I’ll have living with me, after that I’ll most likely be so old that any dog will outlive me and that’s not fair for them.

      Have fun in NYC!
