I can’t pretend I feel especially well at all but I do still feel much better than I did just a couple of days ago. The fever is gone and most pain as well, the pain I do have is mostly because I haven’t been moving around especially much. As soon as I do move around it stops. I guess that’s because the fonts always are in pain anyway so all this lying and sitting doesn’t help.

We had a warm summer day here yesterday, a bit too warm for my liking but still rather nice. Today will be even warmer they say but also more cloudy. So the kitchen door was open for quite some time until a surprise shower passed by, after that it also became very humid so the door had to be closed. Then suddenly another one passed by and it became even worse π π

Yesterday the dogs decided they should pay my closest neighbours a visit Β and they are allowed to do so but only when they are at home and outside. Suddenly I heard a ruckus of cackling chickens and called back the dogs as fast as I could. I wasn’t aware that they had chickens at all so I was a bit confused π π π Turns out that it was the newest neighbours down the road, well not the neighbours but their chickens π π They had decided to make a visit to my neighbours as well π π Nothing bad happened though and I was later told that the owner had come and scolded the chickens and they haven’t been here since π π π

I have been hydrating a bit too well lately, what goes in must come out, so I’ve been up around every third hour during nights π π π I let the dogs out at the same time and I must say that being outside at night is really nice. Much cooler and fresher air and since I live this far north on this little globe of ours not especially dark either. The best thing though is that we so far have very few mosquitoes, the ground has been too dry this year, so not being attacked by them has been really nice. I haven’t even had problems falling asleep when we’ve come in again and that made it even better π

It is time for a cup of tea and then open the kitchen for again so the dogs can go outside, Malkolm was so sad when he could’t go in and out as he pleased that he fetched his favourite toy, a big octopus and brought it to the sofa to sleep some more π
Have a great day!
Virginia USA is now in summer. Temperature at or near 90F with very high humidity. If walk outside a few dozen steps to get the mail, by the time I go inside again, I am soaked. I don’t know if it’s sweat or humidity turning to liquid on my body. It’s miserable and I hate having damp clothes.
And bugs. I don’t know what they are because I don’t see them do it, but in that little walk to the mailbox I can later have 10-15 itchy bites on my legs, which they must find very tasty.
Even with air conditioning, if I do too much housework like vacuuming or mopping, I get so sweaty, the back of my hair is dripping wet.
The weather where you are sounds perfect to me.

Seattle is back to cool again. The tomatoes and peppers grow but don’t bloom, so we may not get the tomatoes and peppers at the end of July. Oh well. I do have lots of spinach and swiss chard though.
Keep up the good work, you have nice stuff in your flower patches

Hi Carol!
I’m happy if I get my first tomatoes at the start of august, then again I’m usually late with sowing them. Last year I did actually get bell peppers but just a few tiny ones π π
The winter lettuce is a fail but perhaps they’ll start growing in autumn instead, it doesn’t like warm weather. I must have chard somewhere in the garden because I can small them when I mowed them down π π π
Some of it I’ve sown or planted myself but mostly the flowers decide themselves by self sowing π

Hi catsworking!
π π π I’m so glad that we have our cool summers, I really wouldn’t want to experience those temperatures every summer, Think it is too warm already at 77F π π π
Sounds like You have small black flies or even worse midges! Midges are so small that the only way You’ll know they are around is when being bit and they actually bite to get to Your blood. We have them here and sometimes they are so many that they can kill a moose if it can’t protect itself by going in to a lake. One of the few good things with me is that they don’t like me at all π then again all other blood sucking animals do π π π
The weather here today is perfect, just above 71,6F and a wind blowing but I still prefer staying in the shadows π

I think they call the bugs biting me chiggers. They are a type of outdoor mite and are microscopic, and they work FAST! My mailbox is maybe 20 steps away down a concrete walk and I can come back into the house and my legs are chewed up. I have to spray myself with bug spray if I’m going out to do anything in the yard.

Aha, yes we do have them here as well but we need to stick our hands in the soil to give them a chance to let them bite.

It was good news to read that you are feeling better, Christer, and I am as well. It is amazing how sitting around all day on a weekend just reading or watching a couple of online movies could be so relaxing. It’s something I should do more often when not feeling bad. The tiny white cacti flowers were lovely even if not red blooms. I suppose the neighbor’s chickens had a bit of a curprise with the dogs visit π

Hi Beatrice!
I started to feel much better on Monday but I worked evening shift this week and became more end more tired the more days that passed, today I’m knocked but at least no fever, just tiredness π
You too are always doing something so I guess just sitting around doing nothing special must be really good for You! Then again sitting around doing nothing would be stressing for You in the long run π
I was surprised to see those flowers and now I can see several more buds π
I guess they were as surprised as my dogs were π π π I’ve never had my dogs coming back home that quickly before π π π

It’s cool and cloudy here today with a possibility of showers. For a change from the last 13 weekends, Saturday and Sunday were dry, mostly sunny, and cool. Perfect. Alas, the week ahead looks very hot and maybe stormy.
Chickens that wander about our urban area unprotected by small mesh fencing above, below, and around them don’t live long. Too many chicken loving predators here. Several kinds of hawks, coyotes, foxes, fishers, raccoons, bobcats, weasels (tiny but very fierce) and even a couple of free range house cats (very rare sight these days). The odds are against them.
I hope your up and down again cold goes away soon.

Hi Caryn!
This weekend will be just perfect weather-wise, not too warm but not cool either and with a wind blowing that even reach my garden now when I’ve thinned out some bushes.
I was surprised that they reached us at all, we have similar animals here but they must all have been on lunch already π π π I noticed they had forgotten? to close the door to the chicken coop the other day so any animal would have been able to take them but they are still around despite the odds π π
The cold is gone but the tiredness still hangs on π
