There’s always a way.

Computers are great to have, computers can be really fun but computers that behaves like they want to is a really big pain in the a..e πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Well it isn’t the computer but the photo editing program. I really don’t want to do anything but reduce the size both in pixel size and MB size but it refuses to do the latter. I’ve figured out a way to go around this problem but it takes so much longer time.

I have a slight problem with what photos I post because the icons are so small and I can’t find anywhere to make them bigger in this folder so I can only hope I put in the better ones πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Well life could be worse and I do have lots of time now days. Still really annoying. The hunters should have been here today but so far no one has arrived, so we had a walk in the forest and down to the creek. I figured that if they would come we still most likely already had come down to the creek and soon out of their way anyway. A bit windy but much calmer than the previous days.

I haven’t been totally idle today though, I did some laundry for instance. Now that doesn’t sound like a lot of work but I have a sort of manual washing machine. My bathroom is so small that I can’t fit in a normal sized one but since I’m not a big fan of washing laundry by hand I bought one that fits in a caravan. That means that I need to fill up water for washing and rinsing the laundry, no big deal, what is a bit annoying is that when the clothes are going to be centrifuged I need to move it to the built in centrifuge and load it by hand so that it is in balance, if I fail it’ll sound as if the centrifuge is on its way to fly out the cottage all by itself πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Β I’ve had it like this for rather many years now so I’ve learned how to do it but still πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

I’ve also baked some French rolls, how much can one change the recipe without having to change the name? πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I almost always use different flour and sometimes I have cheese in it as well. Turned out really well this time. A warm roll with melting cheese on it is hard to beat πŸ™‚ Tomorrow I’ll keep on doing some laundry, I’m a bit behind, and after that the dogs and I will have pancakes for dinner, I’ve just bought a Black berry jam just for that πŸ™‚

The beavers are back πŸ™‚

It is time to get that last cup of tea for the day and I’ll most likely fall asleep in the sofa after that πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

  1. Your laundry routine sounds like a lot of work. I just had to buy a new washer. I also happened to buy 2 new towels, bath-size and larger than I’ve ever had (towels keep getting bigger to fit our fat bodies, I guess).

I wanted to wash the new towels before I used them, and I found out my new washer can’t handle it. We call centrifuge the “spin” cycle, and when the washer got there, it banged like it was blowing up, then stopped dead.

With my old washer, I could open the lid and redistribute the weight, but the new washer’s lid locks and there’s no Pause button to stop the cycle and unlock it. So, I had to watch the thing go crazy several times trying to spin before it gave up and released the lid, thankfully. I thought I was going to have to unplug it to get my laundry back.

I took the sopping wet towels out and wrung them in the bathtub, then carefully put them back in the washer and set it on spin cycle only. This time it worked.

This has happened twice. Now I don’t use my new towels because washing them is too hard. The washes is a G.E. (General Electric). It’s also much deeper than my old one and I’m short, so I have to almost climb inside to reach all the socks. I hate it, but I’m sure it won’t last 22 years like my old washer did, so I’ll be replacing it sooner than later.

    1. Hi cats working!

It isn’t that bad to be honest but still rather boring πŸ™‚
I do like those towels byt those are a pain in the a..e to wash I my machine πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The spin part is so small so I would only be able to fit one at a time but I’m pretty sure since the towel is so big it wouldn’t matter how I pressed in in there, it would somehow be evenly placed in there anyway πŸ™‚

The old machines were better in so many ways, perhaps not when it comes to energy use but they usually managed to go through the entire cycle without any bigger problems. I’m glad it finally gave up and let You get those towels πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ and that it worked the second time! The best washing machine I’ve ever used was one we had in the apartment building I lived in down in Gothenburg, it was actually a carpet washing machine and it worked perfect every time, sometimes when I do my laundry I think of that one as an old friend πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

No new things never last that long, they are made to break so that we need to buy new ones regularly, that’s how our economy works now days I’m afraid.

  2. That does sound like a very difficult way to do laundry, Christer, but I suppose you know just how to get it done. Honestly, so many of the new washing machines are so complicated that it makes me thankful that the ones in the laundry room in the apartment building have basic functions for temperature, load type and soil level. The dryers only offer 3 heat choices so no difficult choices there either. I agree with your comment about planned obsolescence. That’s mainly why I have not decided to get a newer vehicle than my 2007 Jeep, which passed its annual inspection yesterday, no fancy electronics in it.

    1. Hi Beatrice!

Not so much difficult than boring and a bit tricky πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Those machines are the best! The carpet washing machines in the apartment building where I lived were amazing, no one ever managed to break that one πŸ™‚

I’ll keep my car for as long as it isn’t too expensive to repair, it has its ideas, it is after all a French car πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
