I wish You all a good ending of this year and a good new year!

Looking out over the field towards a neighbor cottage.

So this year is coming to an end and I can’t say I’ll miss it much πŸ™‚ Well finding the little monster kitten Sara was a good thing but the rest has been crappy to be honest πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ and getting Malkolm here was definitely a good thing as well! I forgot that he hasn’t been here a year yet πŸ™‚

Early in the year I was told by my optician that I have the beginning of cataract in my right eye, it could develop really fast but it could also stay this way for a really long time, I must admit that I haven’t noticed anything so I guess this is the kind that will move really slowly and I feel that that’s a good thing. Summer was a bit crappy with all that rain and very little sunshine though.

Then I had to quit my job because I couldn’t work from 4:25 pm to 3:00 am but just before that I had a Kidney stone. Now I’ve realized that it was most likely not the kidney stone that created all that pain because the spot where the pain came from wasn’t especially close to the kidneys πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Just as I got that stone I must have entered a period when my rheumatism also hit as hard as it could πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I did however have stone because they found it when they x-rayed me. It was when they x-rayed me again when they found a small growth on one of my kidneys and of course that was a tumor.

Β  Β  Β

However it was so small yet that they couldn’t take a biopsy from it because they would then likely hit my kidney instead and the doctor said that if we do that it’ll never stop bleeding, so next spring I’ll do another x-ray so they can see if it has grown so that finally can take a biopsy from it. They need to so that know if it is, which they thing, is cancer or something else. She did say that the prognosis is the best one can have because they are aware of it and can start treatment as soon as they know what it is so I guess that pain and following x-rays were sort of good after all πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Β  Β  Β

So all I do right now is to hope for very little snow, it is snowing right now but it’ll melt away tomorrow when it will rain all day just to get cold again to get more snow that will melt away and then it will get really cold again πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I’m so glad I have studded shoes πŸ™‚ I hope we’ll get an early and warm spring and why not a job soon as well. Still I have really nice days now when I can get daylight every day, spend lots of time with the dogs and cats so who am I to complain too much πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Plus I’ve baked french rolls again and at the moment I’m making rice porridge and what’s left tomorrow I’ll make Risalamande or as we call it here Ris Γ  la Malta. Rice porridge whipped together with whipped cream, normally one use orange slices to mix in but I’ll use the berries I picked this summer and perhaps slice down some plums in it as well πŸ™‚

So now I wish You all a Good Ending of this Year and a Good New Year as well!

  1. wishing you a happy New year 🎈 I’m glad they found that spot early and keeping an eye on it. I have a spot on one of my parathyroids that they might take out also a skin cancer on my foot they will cut out in March. When you get old it never stops. Better to take care of stuff early. I hope things get better for you soon. Whatever you’re making sounds delicious.

      1. I am really looking forward to seeing what the new social media platform is like. Noel has indicated that it won’t be anything like Twitter or Bluesky. I like Bluesky for the engagement and how gliitch-free it is, but the sheer volume of the trolls, haters, and scammers is daunting. Also the volume of people who follow me without looking at my profile and never interacting is mind-boggling.

  3. Happy New Year! When I had my eyes checked this past summer, the doctor said I had a “baby” cataract and that it’s been there for some time, although this was the first time he’d ever mentioned it. I have no symptoms, but he said if it ever causes a problem, surgery to get rid of it will make my eyesight better than it’s ever been. So, there’s that to look forward to.

If we all had ourselves x-rayed, I’m sure doctors would find so many lumps and suspicious spots inside our bodies, we would be getting tested for something constantly.

I had a tiny skin cancer removed from my lip last spring and the little crater it left above my lip looks worse than the cancer did (although cancer always needs to be removed). To fix the crater, the doctor suggested another procedure that would require stitches up my cheek and leave a long scar that would look like I was slashed in a duel. I opted to keep the little crater.

You get to an age where it’s always something.

    1. Hi catsworking!

Yes that’s the way it is and the surgery takes ten minutes per eye. However sometimes one becomes blind on the eye/ eyes for a day or two, happened to my aunt but since she knew she was just a little worried πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

To be honest almost my entire body has been x-rayed and this was the first time they’ve found something extra πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Yes choosing between those two options a crater almost looks cute πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
I did get malignant melanoma once, they took it so early that I never even came close to be in danger. They removed quite a bit from me so now days I have a scar in the shape of an L on my chest πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

yes that’s the negative getting older, otherwise I have nothing against it πŸ™‚

  4. Christer, Happy New Year to you and the canines and feline from Patrick and myself. You had quite a year in the one just passed and sure you are glad it’s over. I hope your health issues will not be too serious and good that you are being monitored. I had cataract surgery several years ago and am thankful to not need glasses now except for reading.

It’s unfortunate that you are not able to read any posts on our blog. years ago, I posted far more than currently, but I do try and read the blogs of others at least a couple of times a week even if bloggers like yourself post far more often.

    1. Hi Beatrice!

We wish You both the same πŸ™‚

I’m looking forward to have that surgery, would be the first time in over 50 years when I wouldn’t have to wear glasses/ contacts all the time πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Oh I can read them but since I usually do it on the phone and I never can remember my password I can’t log in πŸ™‚ I am however logged in on my computer but I rarely am on the net when using it, I’m here, on my blog writing and sometimes on Fb.

  5. And, even though logging into WordPress is more annoying as this doesn’t need to be done for blogger, there are several WP blogs that I read, so I will log in and read them and than log out.

      1. Actually, it seems that not that many bloggers I read use it, so that’s why. And, a few times, I have been logged out automatically so now just sign on to read the 3 blogs that use it and sign off.
