We woke up to a village covered in white, well covered is a bit much but it is at least more snow on the ground than last time. It made my neighbor happy because it’s her birthday today and she wanted snow at least today and around Christmas π

Even I must admit that it looks beautiful outside now and if the weather sites are somewhat right it might stay like this for a week or longer. I often hear that the snow at least makes it less dark but that’s only true if there is some light reflecting on it, I learned that when I moved to the countryside, if it is cloudy it’s just as dark as it is without snow π π A clear sky and full moon is the best but since a clear sky usually also means nasty cold I prefer to have it cloudy at nights π π

I went to the super market this morning, Tuesday mornings are perfect to go there because there’s so little customers there that one can take time to just walk around looking for what one wants to buy and still not be in the way for others π That’s a dangerous strategy though because it is too easy to find other things to buy π I made it through without buying anything that wasn’t on the list though π

I’ve started to put seeds in the feeder that is hanging in the huge lilacs and the birds of course loves it and I hope it will stop them from eating all the window putty from my windows. I have no idea what it is that makes them love eating it and it is so annoying! Anyway the small birds are happy and so is the Sparrowhawk. The first thing that happened was a Sparrowhawk catching a house sparrow in front of me. I really can’t be angry because they need food too but I do think it could have been polite enough to wait until I had walked in again π

It is time for that last cup of tea for the day, I’ve just made a couple of scones and they are good but I don’t like how they smell for some reason. So the faster I eat these the quicker I can make other ones that doesn’t smell like these π π

Have a great day!

Lovely photos, thank you, C. Happy birthday to your sweet neighbour, I’m pleased her birthday wish came true. It was so hot here yesterday – next time I’m broiling I’ll look at your snow photos. Today is cooler, mercifully.
I’ve only found good GF scones in Glasgow…a long way to go! π I’m only useful on a computer or in the garden – hopeless in the kitchen so there’s no point trying to make my own. Glad yours tasted good, I do wonder what caused the odour π€
Hope you are feeling well, sleeping well (right about now) and that you all have a lovely day when you wake up.

Hi blythedunbar!
I’m glad You like them π
She really was lucky with the snow π π This is however enough for me and I wouldn’t mind a snow free christmas π π
I have actually had a few good ones that I’ve baked myself but I think it’s has something to do with oatmeal and baking powder, they really don’t fit well together it seems so next time I’ll use rice flour and perhaps corn flour instead.
I did have a good nights sleep, thank You π

It looks charming with the snow. It’s great your neighbor had a nice birthday. We shall hope that It snows for Christmas, enough to make everyone happy. Hopefully the dogs aren’t too muddy after their walk. I see Sara knows how to keep warm and dry

Hi carolannie!
Personally I don’t need more snow this winter π π but I admit that it looks nice during christmas π
As long as the ground is frozen there’s no risk of mud, so I should actually be happy now when it is cold and a bit snowy because my floors are so clean π π
Yes she really do π π

Belated πwishes to your neighbor and glad she had her wish filled for a snowy day, which did look beautiful in these ohotos. But, your kitten is just so cute and who wouldnβt be grumpy after waking from a nice nap in a sweater?
