I’ve just realized that I had forgotten to post this yesterday π π π

I’m now sure it is a wolf around, no I haven’t seen any but Alma always walk with her tail up no matter how stressed she is on our walks, today it hang straight down and she was not happy at all to be out walking in the forest, plus yesterday evening both she and Malkolm refused to run around in the garden when it want dark, instead they stayed close to the entrance. Malkolm barked out in to the darkness as well and that’s nothing he does when I’m with them.

I texted my neighbors so they wouldn’t let their little dog outside unleashed just in case. I need to find all the batteries I’ve bought so that I can place my wildlife camera outside or I’ll need to buy new ones soon before the wolf walks elsewhere. I will most likely get any photo of it but perhaps a badger before they start their sleep during winter. But with my luck it’ll just take photos of all the cats living nearby π π π

I’ve started to remove the peel around the walnuts that has fallen down, I should have bought some rubber gloves because that color one gets on the hands stays for a long time π π There are still two more hanging in the tree but in total I’ve gotten twenty walnuts this year, last year it was seven I think π I looked at the other one I have and the two small stems that has grown up from the roots of the dead tree looks just fine. I still hope for a mild winter since I have no idea how hardy the original tree was.

I think I better try and find those batteries so I can put up the camera before it gets dark outside, today the sun will set at 4:14 pm.

Hi mandolin mama!
No luck with a wolf yet but I’ll show one of a badger, probably the same that Albin and Alma had two fights with here in the garden last winter here in the garden π π It is slightly bigger now though π
We don’t have any bears near here and no coyotes but we might have Golden Jackals plus foxes, lynx and badgers and it isn’t that far to here the nearest wolverines lives to be honest but I think it is too populated here for them to want to come here.

Itβs quite exciting to know you might catch some wolf photos on your outdoor camera. It is a bit eerie knowing that they live and hunt so close to your home. All wolves were extirpated centuries ago in the northeast U.S. region so I can only imagine what itβs like to have them present.

Hi Denali Sam!
No luck with wolf photos but I did get a coupe of the badger that goes around in my garden at night.
Wolves were extinct this far south until recently here, these ones has hanged around for just a couple of years, thankfully they’ve stayed away from farms unlike the pack living just a mile or so north of here.
I don’t worry about the wolves, it is enough with wild hogs and angry moose π π π

we have coyotes around but no wolves here. Before I moved here to the senior community we had a farm house with acreage . Coyotes would come running through on their way to the horse stable down the road and my big dog would chase them to the fence line. I worried about her but they never slowed down. She was big so they never tried anything. They might take a cat though. I love black walnuts in a cake or oatmeal. Yes, you must wear gloves when cleaning them. Enjoy them while you have them.

Hi Joy!
I think coyotes is worse for dogs than wolves coyotes aren’t enough afraid of humans so they’ll get much closer. We don’t have them over here though.
I will enjoy those walnuts as soon as I can find my hammer so that I can open them up and I will of course save some for Christmas π
