The coldest night so far but since the sun rose and there weren’t any clouds (but morning mist) it soon became a really pleasant morning. We went out to the forest as soon as I could see the sun rising through my kitchen window, no risk of any surviving moose flies in the air when it was that cold.

Nova is much better again and the first one to demand food in the morning π well Sara screams as soon as she think I’m awake but that could be about anything really π πΒ Nova is too thin though, even though the vet says that she looks great since she’s so old. I think I’ll start giving her more treats, even directly in to her food, better that way since the two other won’t notice it that much if I do it that way π

The world isn’t a happy place right now, war in Ukraine, war in the middle east and the risk of Trump becoming a president again feels too big. plus that we have gang wars here in Sweden so it’s times like this it feels really nice to live in a village at the outskirts of the world. Very little happens here any time of the year. The dogs and I are almost always alone on our walks in the forest or out on the bog, the only thing we really need to look out for are angry moose and wild hogs π Yes we have wolves but they are almost never seen, only tracks made when they have passed by and to be honest, one can never know how moose and hogs will behave if one meet them π

That I also have the best neighbors one can get helps a lot as well π The beekeepers cottage is still empty and not a single person came when they had an open house for buyers. No one wants to buy a place for double what it is worth. I do hope however that it won’t be empty for too long, rodents love that and when they start invading a place things can go down hill pretty fast.Β I won $ 9 US on the lottery yesterday but I’m afraid that won’t help me much π π π

Have a great day!

Sara looks fine, as do the dogs. I agree that small town life is good, even if not fun and entertaining. You learn to appreciate the small things.

Hi carolannie!
I wouldn’t even call this a small town area, It is at least as big as the village I worked at but there’s only 31 people living here π π π and I live at the outer edge of the village, only having two cottages after my village before the nature reserve and forest beginning π

Congratulations on the win, but what a disappointment that there weren’t loads more zeros. Hope there’s a much bigger one for you this weekend!
I despair at the state of the world and (unless I’m travelling) also feel very grateful to be so far from it all. We also have crazies … unleashed during the pandemic or by the trump darkness or inundating propaganda, but there aren’t too many (although they do make more noise than the rest of us put together).
Thank you for the lovely photos over the last week, C, there were some really beauties πβΊοΈ

Hi blythedunbar!
It would have been nice with loads more zeros π π π
You do live as far away from the worlds problems as it is possible I think π Actually it’s almost exactly on the opposite side of the globe from where I live. OK, Sweden would if it was on the other side end up closer to the south pole but anyway π
I’m glad You like them π

beautiful photos as usual. love the ones of sara. as for lovely nova…does she like eggs? all of my elder dogs that i’ve had in my life loved eggs cooked in butter added to their regular food. my vet said not to feed them raw eggs in case of salmonella, but cooked ones can be beneficial for tender old tummies. ππΎπ

Hi mandolin mama
Thank You π
I have actually tried eggs and she is sort of semi happy about them π She doesn’t like raw eggs, Swedish eggs are guaranteed salmonella free so no worries about that but she isn’t happy bout having them raw. She loves fried eggs though and soft boiled too, so she gets one every now and again.

What an array of beautiful photos; you offer such a wonderful window into rural life in your small corner of Sweden. Iβm so grateful for all you share with us. Sara seems to have settled into the household beautiful! How fortunate she is to have found a wonderful home with you and all of the pups.
