First day back at work and it was a calm one, actually so calm that we didn’t especially much at all π Nothing in the painting department worked and it’s most likely because a heavy thunder storm passed by there yesterday. I got several warnings from my lightning app but nothing was close to the village, instead it passed over the village where the factory is.

So we did the little we could do and after lunch I went home. However I had to call the occupational healthcare because We suspected I might be ill even though I don’t feel sick π So I am for the fifth or sixth time having chicken-pox π π π Not something that usually happens to be honest. So I called them and described the suspected two red dots, the itching and the one scab I have so farΒ (I’ve never gotten lots of dots, five or six each time). So they were a bit skeptical at first but then the nurse said that one might get it several time if one has a really bad immune system, so I said I have Bechterews disease (my rheumatism) and then she laughed and said then You do have a really f.cked up immune system π π

That might sound strange coming from a nurse but we’ve met before and she heard my name but couldn’t put a face to it and her son has the same disease so we fully understood each other π π I had already made sure that everyone at work already have had it before calling so there’s no risk of me giving it to anyone else and as long as I feel fine I can continue to work but if I get more rash I’ll have to stay at home until the last scab falls off. The one I have at the moment is covered to makes sure I don’t give it to anyone else. To be honest it might already be over since the two red dots also can be mosquito bites, we’ll only know if they too get that blister that belongs to it. Now of course it itches everywhere π π π

I guess I’ll know better already tomorrow. I know there can be bad complications having chicken-pox, especially as an older person so I’ll make sure not to dismiss any other symptoms. So all in all it has been a rather nice day π It was supposed to be cloudy all day but the sun has shined quite a lot after I came home. It was a bit too warm for Nova when the sun shone so we walked mostly in the forest and she was unleashed so she could walk in her own pace. I also had the new dog food delivered today, both Alma and Malkolm have problems with their stomach and since chicken is the main ingredient in their food and chicken is the most common issue for stomach problems I bought one made from insects. They all loved it when I gave them some as treats so now I’ll slowly change from the old one to this new and see if they’ll get better.

It is time to make a last cup of tea for the day andΒ after that I’ll mostly listen to the Olympics on the radio, Mondo Duplantis the Swedish pole vaulter is competing today and it will be a big surprise if he doesn’t win.
Have a great day!
That is a surprise! Were you prescribed anything for your pox?

Hi ppekka!
No, I do feel fine so no need. Is there anything they can prescribe except for something against the itching?

I really don’t know about the treatments. Seems like there should be something though.

What a bummer, getting chicken pox again! I have a sister who gets shingles ( a variation of chicken pox) which is painful. Good luck!

Hi carolannie!
Yes the shingles can be horrible! Some people doesn’t get that affected by it though, I have one work friend who says it itched for a couple of days and then she didn’t think of it while another one was in horrible pain. If I get it I do hope I react as the first one π π
Thank You!

Aw it’s not fair that you are celiac and have to deal with Bechterew’s disease too π I hope you aren’t more susceptible to shingles too, C. Have you had the shingles vaccine? Good to hear you’re first day back wasn’t too onerous. I hope it’s an easy week.

Hi blythedunbar!
Well that’s life I guess π π π
I do wonder that me having chickenpox so many time perhaps keep me away from the shingles? Possibly not but one can always hope π
No the really effective vaccine still isn’t covered by the health insurance so it costs a small fortune but as soon as it is (usually take a while) I’ll have it.
Well the rest of the week will be calm because I got a new rash during the night so now I’ll stay at home until the last scab falls off (I do hope this is the last one).

I hope youβll be over the chicken pox very soon!
And I hope Alma and Malkolm adjust well to the new diet. May I ask, what is the ingredient list?

Hi Denali Sam!
I don’t think I’ve gotten any new ones so I hop it’s over by Monday!
They love it and I can use it as a treat too π
The ingredients are: potatoes, Pea flour, Insects, doesn’t say what kind but I think it’s ground larvae (seen it on tv), oils and fat, partially hydrolyzed yeast, beet fibre, minerals and carob meal.

Oh Iβve had an experience with shinglesβ¦
Several years ago I had an outbreak, following a period of significant stress. (Stress will often exacerbate an outbreak.) Fortunately, it was on my torso instead of my face, eyes or in the ear; shingles in eyes or ears can be dangerous, possibly causing loss of hearing or sight.
The shingles was very painful for me. It never itched. It took about a month from onset through full recuperation. The very strange thing about the pain was that it is essentially within the nerves, not the nerve endings responding to inflamed or very irritated tissue like a wound. Shingles pain is unique unto itself.

Hi Denali Sam!
I hope I won’t have to deal with it at all, I doubt I would be one of the lucky ones when it comes to pain π π Thankfully I seldom feel stressed any more so that’s at least one thing keeping me away from it π
I’ve read that about it hitting the eyes or ears and that’s just horrible, first the pain and then risking deafness or blindness!
