We’ve had a rather nice day. They said the sun would shine from early morning but it wasn’t until around 9 hours later we actually saw it π It has been warm outside but not warm enough to have the kitchen door open for more than a few minutes at a time.

I’ve ordered a new lawn mower. It is bigger than the one I have now and it cuts wider and has a much stronger electric motor. I guess that means I’ll be able to cut even longer and wet grass than I can now. I also got the question if I wanted to buy an electric cord to go with the machine but I thought I had already spent more than I like on something I really don’t want so no thanks π π The old ones I have will work a couple of years more as long as I don’t mow them with the mower π π

The hunters were here early today, not for hunting but to mow the lawn outside the little hunting lodge and I could also hear some hammering and the sound from a chainsaw. I’m pretty sure the chainsaw were cutting up fire wood now when the moose hunting premiere soon starts. They’ll be outside in the forest for a week and not shoot a single moose because we have very few moose in this area. The hunters will be out from now and tonight though so I guess they’re hunting wild hogs again.

I’m baking those gluten free french rolls again, this time I have both butter and milk in the dough. I take the cold butter and cut it in small pieces and then I put that and all the different ingredients in a mixer until there are no lumps of butter left. I do it that way because then the butter won’t disturb the yeast. All gluten free bread dough is a sticky mess to be honest, I’m surprised that it doesn’t just flow out over the oven plate but instead actually manages to keep the shape even though it is rising. Well it works and I really like them.

So no more chores today, I did the laundry as soon as we came home from our walk. We walked in the pasture behind my cottage because I didn’t know if the hunters had their dogs with them and it’s a pain in the a..e to walk with Albin and Alma if there are dogs nearby π π The grass is so high that Nova got lost in it for a while π
Have a great day!
What happened to the Flymo? Electric cords are why I have a rechargeable battery mower and rechargeable weed whacker and hedge cutter, too. Those chords would be slashed in a heartbeat. I once slashed the internet cable cord with regular hedge clippers.
I mowed my lawn over two days this past week. It was rather tall but it’s been so wet I couldn’t mow it. It had to be done before the hurricane though.
When I have to get a new mower, (far in the future, I hope), I’ll get a stronger rechargeable with front wheel drive and hope that I’m not too decrepit to keep uo with it.π
Weather’s great here today but is supposed to be wet tomorrow. Only the usual predators are hunting anything.

Hi Caryn!
The Flymo is three mowers back by now π π π I simply wore it out and even though I really like the Flymo it doesn’t cut especially wide and if there’s a hole in the ground it instead of floating sucks down on the ground π π π
I’ve become much better when it comes to mowing the cords π π So I make sure I always mow away from the cord and never towards it. My lawn is sort of several different patches so each bit is small and easy to keep the cord away.
I really wanted one of those with batteries but they are still nasty expensive and the best one could only mow 350 square meters before the battery died. Perhaps next time or if I win the lottery π π
Misty rain here this morning and I really don’t like misty rain π
Have a great day!

Wow, that’s crappy battery life on the mower. Mine can mow my whole lawn which is probably almost one half acre and still have battery life left. (If the grass is very wet and too tall, it doesn’t do nearly as well as that. Possibly a new and unbent blade would help.) But it’s not a lithium battery. It’s the old style battery and if it’s stored above 50F it has to be kept plugged in.
I’d probably still cut the cords. My lawn has lots of fiddly bits that require me to haul the mower backwards. I can picture me backing it over the cord or swinging it around and over the cord. Snip. All done. π¦

I think so too but it is as You say Lithium batteries and one usually need to buy at least one or two extra to be able to mow the entire garden. The old batteries were better in that way but I haven’t seen any mower with one of those in several years to be honest π π
