Sunny days.

Nothing special has happened, the days pass fairly quickly anyway. The sun has been shining these last two days and even though the sky has been more or less cloud free we still haven’t had frost at nights.

That will change tonight they say, so I’m preparing myself for ice scraping the car tomorrow morning. I already have the winter tires on the car so I have at least not that to think about.

I got my new lenses today and I tried them on as soon as I came home from work. I do see better in distances with them but instead it’s a bit trickier to read close up. That’s the compromise I had to do. I’ve been driving to work wearing my glasses so far but tomorrow I’ll have the new lenses on.

I really would like a cup of tea now but I’ll settle for a cup of warm cocoa instead. Then again I’m, like many at work, really tired all the time now so I doubt that any amount of tea will be able to keep me up at night 🙂 🙂 🙂

Christer,
I think we are a long way from our first frost. The western part of the state has had temperatures down to the 30’s, but we haven’t had cold enough nights, and I don’t mind waiting.

We don’t have many trees which change color here on the cape, mostly only the oak which turns red, but I still like to take leaf peeping rides down cape.

Today stayed nice all day. I was glad for that!

  We’ve had several frost nights including last night. Clear sky with no wind and an almost full moon made it bearable anyway 🙂
  
  I must say that we have more color in the trees now days than just a few years back, I wonder if it has anything to do with the climate change? Our oaks just turn yellow and quickly to brown or just to brown without any yellow in between, the maples however are always fiery in their colors.
  Cold but sunny morning and after that mostly cloudy.

Hi Christer,
Everything is a compromise, I guess. My friend who have progressive glasses said the same thing about getting used to them. I can still see distances fairly well except for reading text on street signs. The distance glasses go on if I have to see signs. My reading glasses are usually on top of my head because I can’t read anything close up unless the font size is huge.
The weather is lovely here. Sunny and mid 60’s during the day and down in the low 50’s or high 40’s at night. The leaves are falling off the trees like gentle snow and every now and then there is the thud of a walnut or two. The forecast is for high winds and rain tomorrow into Friday, I think. That’ll bring down a lot of leaves and nuts. I bought one of those hand held chain saws but haven’t tried it yet. There’s a bunch of maple saplings that need to come out along with vicious roses, privet bushes, bittersweet vines, and poke weed.

  Yes I guess You’re right about that. The new lenses are much better than the old ones though. I’m near sighted so without glasses I can read really close without problems but any distance longer than8 inches away and the world becomes blurry for me. I never really got used to the progressive glasses so besides the lenses I have distance glasses and screen glasses, the last ones are adjusted after how far away I sit from my computer screen 🙂 🙂
  
  A really nice day again here and no frost during the night. I’ve bought one of those hand held chain saws too and hasn’t tried it yet either 🙂 🙂 🙂 I might do this Sunday if I just put it together 🙂

    My little chain saw came already put together but I did have to loosen the chain a bit. It was pulled really tightly to the blade so there was no slack at all. I have charged one of the batteries and tried it to make sure it worked. It did. I remembered that it needed chain oil but didn’t see any place to put it so I read the instruction book. Very last page, very last line of the last paragraph, it hinted that one should put a little oil on the chain before and after use or dire things might happen. I wonder how many returns they get with seized up blades.

    Well I guess they didn’t want to put mine together down in China 🙂 🙂 🙂 I doubt that it’s more complicated than to put together a normal chainsaw and that I’ve done several times.
    
    I did wonder about oil but couldn’t find anywhere to pour it in, thanks You’ve helped me with that 🙂 🙂
    I guess they get back plenty 🙂 🙂
